Mine was the prop shaft from the transfer case to the front diff. Got some Dana parts and redid the U joints. Much better. Meantime, it blew out the shaft seals. currently in pieces.
It actually isn’t too bad. The whole trick is to get the axle out of the knuckle and that involves taking off a pretty stiff and large bolt. You might wanna have a rubber hand, some type of hammer around the tap the axle through and what people do is sometimes leave the bolt on and just simply have the bolt threaded on most of its threads and use the bolt to tap and that way you won’t strip your threads, be careful with it
This was done as the rubber boot on the axle was defective and grease was leaking out of it and water getting in. Tyre issues none and unaffected. Replaced as a preventive measure to assure no break down later.
