    Just found your amazing display at Blick and love that you have these colors, especially the candy colors. I build 1/24 and 1/25 scale car models and look forward to your amazing colors. The video was fantastic. Thank you.

    If using a 1.4 tip spray gun would you stick with that 6:1 mix ratio or 1.4 not advised at all?

    So do you recommend straining your candy mixture into your airbrush the same as for using a bigger spray gun? It always cracks me up seeing experienced airbrushers pop the top on their paint bottle and squirt directly into the airbrush color cup, back flush to mix and it's go time! How do you even know if you're mixed at the correct ratio? Good info on mixing the candies--I've got some but have yet to try them. I gotta leather jacket coming up soon.....

      Yes, always strain candy20 prior to spraying with either an airbrush or spray gun. Thanks for watching!

    When im trying to get an anodized paint look with the candy2o colors ive seen i need to have a gloss black base to spray onto . can i put on the black auto borne sealer and then spray some 4050 clear over it as my black base ? or should i go with wicked black W002 mixed with 4050 gloss clear?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Color references for anodized candy2o colors are available at candy2o.com/anodized-candy-colors. Apply W359 Quicksilver over W017 Wicked Gloss White or W018 Gloss Black, th-cam.com/video/LPkIIwiSUCs/w-d-xo.html. 4053 UVLS High Gloss is a better choice over either W002 Wicked black or 6002 AutoBorne Sealer Black when used as a reflective base for Quicksilver (or W358 Gold Chrome). Thank you.

    In another video, it was mentioned that the 4053 was going to be replacing the 4050. So, should I be using 4053 with the candy2o also?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've never made a video that 4053 High Gloss was replacing 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. 4050 is the only carrier-medium recommended for candy2o. Thank you.

    So since candy 2o is basically just a dye could I use it and mix with automotive clear base coat or intercoat clear? I just have a bunch of candy 2o and was curious

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      candy2o is not just a dye. It's a metal complex dye, and contains other products. By automotive, do you mean solvent-based paints (notwithstanding that many OEM automotive paints are water-based)? If so, no, solvent-based and water-based products can not be directly mixed. candy2o can be mixed with other water-based paints & coatings, keeping in mind that there will be bleeding issues when mixed, same as when using candy2o itself. Thank you.

    Would you recommend straining your wicked colors like the hot rod for example?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Straining colors is always recommended, especially candy2o colors. A few metallic colors, such as Wicked Hot Rod Sparkle Colors, are too large a pearl-flake to pass through a strainer. Thank you.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Since 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear was recommended in March 2020, it has been the recommended carrier-medium for candy2o, replacing the 4030 Balancing Clear as the recommended medium for candy2o. • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Createx paints, including candy2o, can be top-coated with a wide variety of clears. We most often recommend a catalyzed (2k) urethane clear for automotive and other durable finished. Thank you.

    I have been frustrated with the Candy2o paints....I use it mainly for plastic model cars....I get a beautiful paint job only to see it get ruined when applying waterslide decals....the water is basically washing the paint off in areas....not sure what I am doing wrong....I am mixing and applying as directed in your videos and I even wait over a WEEK before applying decals...I use the autoborn sealer gray.....then quick silver....then the candy20....I let the sealer dry over night....let the quick silver dry over night then the candy for a week....water hits it and it runs the color off down to the silver.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not soak candy2o, or any water-based, dye color direct in water. Top-coat with a 2k solvent-based urethane clear, then soak in water for the water decal process. Thanks.

      @@CreatexColors so question if we top coat it with 4050 after the painting process or with the high gloss 4053 is it safe from contact with water or should we use a completely different top coat altogether? Like if I paint a bicycle with it and it starts raining will the paint get ruined?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Always top-coat candy2o or any other dye based color with a catalyzed (2k) clear before submerging in water or exposing to outdoor elements. This would apply to any dye-based candy color: candy2o, water-based and solvent-based candy colors. UVLS Clears work to protect colors (standard pigment-based Createx paints) from direct exposure to water but do not prevent the leaching of the dyes through the clear as does a 2k clear. Thank you.

    Ohhhh the shop i got my juice from told me different wow I've been shooting wrong in my airbrush... I wasn't even told to use 4050. They had me running candy at any volume to about 5 to 10 drops 4030 and 4011 reduced my 5604 clear. Wasting the candy.

      Since 4050 was introduce in the beginning of 2020, its been the only carrier-medium we recommend for candy2o. 4050 works much better as the candy2o carrier compared to 4030 Balancing Clear. Thank you.

    • @CreatexColors

      Please make a test panel. We generally recommend a solvent-based, catalyzed (2k) clear to top-coat candy2o, although other clear types can also be used. Thank you.

    How long will it last if you premix it in a lided bottle

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indefinitely after mixing with 4050, so long as air capped air tight. After thinning with 4011 Reducer, shelf life is anywhere from 24 / 48-hours to a few weeks, depending upon how much its thinned and how well capped air tight. Best is to only thin candy20 + 4050 mix as needed for that day. For more, please refer to the candy2o tech sheet available at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.

    • @luigiangelobuonarroti4110
      @luigiangelobuonarroti4110 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should probably wait for a direct response from Createx, but I emailed them a while back and was told once you add the 4011 reducer that batch needs to be sprayed within 48 hours max. So if you mix Candy2o with the 4050 gloss you can store that batch indefinitely, but of course that won't be sprayable at least not through airbrush without reducing.

      candy2o mixed with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear will last indefinitely as long as its capped air-tight unless pouring paint from the bottle It is only after adding 4011 Reducer that viscosity will begin to increase over time, especially the more the fixture is exposed to fresh air.
