We can all hate on ESPN as it's very agenda driven, but let's stop fooling ourselves. We have been saying the same thing for over 10 years. The fact is they have a monopoly on sports and they have the money to back it up and nothing will change. They have way too many channels and way too many systems that are in place for the NBA especially to be replaced. There's no one that can compete with having three separate channels as well as having a streaming service.
ESPN’s pregame, halftime and postgame has been unwatchable for the last decade.
You can pretty much track it with when Disney took them over

Switch to UFC, espn and ufc are partners now. And the media production quality of UFC is wayyyy better than NBA (i was vet impressed).

When it Comes to ESPN i just don't watch it. When it comes to Basketball i Don't watch pre-game, Halftime, or Post-games. The primary reason is SAS, he's a loud obnoxious Phoney. Malika is a waste of time too an Perkins isn't much better. Instead of reporting to news, they have tried to seemingly create agendas. The stupid GOAT argument and this recent idiocy "The Face of the League " . The immaturity, opinionated, nonsense of it all is insulting to me.

I agree, but at the end of the day ESPN is a business. Ratings do all the talking. And for better or worse, clips/segments that involve the Lakers or LeBron get more clicks/views than clips/segments without them. This is not only an ESPN issue. It's just simple profit motive. Bigger markets and superstars will forever dominate the media with this formula. If people really care about fair, fact driven analysis then you have to stop giving these networks clicks. Start supporting people who have TH-cam channels and really take their time explaining the game, There are plenty of high teir content on TH-cam, picking up the slack of these networks.

They have been disappointing for a long time.
ESPN has a lot of issues, but being "woke" isn't what has ruined the network. Its analytics. They know exactly what topics, players or teams garner the most clicks or views. Whether its a view out of actual interest, or out of hate/spite is irrelevant. A view is a view. SAS could get 1 million views on a video. Half the views could be hateful...but he still got a million views. And so they double down on that formula.
Ever since TH-cam started to effect their bottom line they have been spiraling trying to find ways to get that piece of the pie back. Has nothing to do with wokeness or politics. It has everything to do with maximizing profits. And people tout capitalism as the infallible great system. Well, this is capitalism at its finest. Chalking everything you happen to dislike as "wokeness" is so lazy and dishonest in the most surface level way possible. Its far more nuanced and complex than that.

I love me some Charles Barkley, and he's right, with the NBA and the Stanley Cup Finals going on, and both on ESPN, you should not be speculating and talking about Dan Hurley to the Lakers for an hour. I loved the conversation between Dan and Charles Barkley, it was civil, informative, with no agendas, and my favorite part NO POLITICS. Its what a sports conversation should be, I was entertained and glued to my screen for over 40:00.

College sports has always been the wild wild west for coaches. 💯👀They get a group of guys there and then all of a sudden take another job and mess up those kids career. 😡Now the kids have the power to change schools without sitting out a year or being penalized which was one of the stupidest things ever created in the rule book as far as a transfer. Why would you need to sit out a year if you transfer up a division? Why should one university get millions more than another university because they have better athletes there than at another university. It has always been the wild wild west for the coaches and the universities.This is nothing new.They're now just empowering the players.💰💸💰

As far as the salary, the only way this will work is if schools have a contract clause or restriction advising if the athlete leaves at a particular year then he won't get the full amount of money that will be the only way that it will work

i saw some company signed a high school freshmen to a deal, dosent that make him a pro now, maybe im missing something.
These colleges with billions in endowments need to stop fleecing these students. "Loaning" these kids tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars and letting them get degrees in underwater basket weaving or a liberal arts degree and telling them they can EVER have a prayer of repaying said loan using these worthless degrees is a predatory loan! It should be illegal. Life is expensive enough without essentially having 2 house loans is not possible. That degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
Tbf a bac in liberal arts allows decent job opportunities & allows you to take higher paying civil service tests - but your point is valid that kids are schemed to take out massive loans for useless degrees - like I stated a lib arts degree does open career doors for ya , but yea no difference from underwater basket weaving or gender studies
