- So with the help of Todd Pritchard (who tipped me off that the show was happening), I was able to score a ticket to one of the Coverups' shows. It was a lot of fun- almost 2 hours of great cover songs. Plus, Tre Cool gets up on stage for a Foxboro Hot Tubs song, and Jason Beebout gets up there for one.
This was filmed with my Canon HFG40 and Rode Video Pro Stereo mic (that's the one I am moving around), 1 gopro hero5 silver and 1 gorpo hero5 black. I had just bought the black from the gopro official refurb store on ebay... and it was faulty. There are many glitches from that one angle due to that gopro. My good friend Agelos still made the edit work, but it took a lot more effort to make it happen. Thanks Agelos. The gopros' batteries conk out about halfway through, and someone with a camera on a tripod got front and center.. so the ending is not so good.

Probably out of respect. If you notice, a lot of the people from the crowd are friends of them, they just want to get away from the fame and big venues (all GD is now) and do intimate shows with fresh material they don't usually do
Its good to see them using vintage instruments, see them operate the pedalboards, tuning guitars, changing instrumentes by themselves, i like the bands that we formed and played with in our homes with friends, playing covers and having fun... far from the stadiums and the great crew behind... its good to see this
I don't think these are vintage instruments. Reissues or reliced more likely. But I agree 100% on the DIY and fun parts!

Jason and Billie Joe both sang in the band Pinhead Gunpowder. That band has been around since 91. If you want to hear an amazing Billie Joe song, check out Life During Wartime.

Jason is a great singer. Someone already mentioned the Influants, and Pinhead Gunpowder, who have a new record coming out October 18th. I would strongly suggest one of his many other bands, The Big Cats. Address to Address is a damn good song, and he sounds great. I love his voice.

Green Day wanted to choose a new side project rock band between the Cover-Ups and Longshot, I think this would of been a better choice :)

The Network is NOT Green Day, but they did come back, and it was RAD. Been listening to them a lot lately.

BJ, Mike, and Jason started a cover band because they love playing covers and they love playing in bars and small venues. And why not? I love it. They've had a LOT of their musician friends jump in, including Tre. But also Kevin Preston (now one of their touring musicians, who has a RAD band called Prima Donna), Violet from Destroy Boys (also a great punk band, they're playing Lollapalooza this summer), and recently a member of Van Halen, which was awesome.

I only used it that one time and sent it back to gopro so I don't remember. I usually use protune mode at 59fps

@Xman116 For sure! I've noticed that even though Green Day's slowed their songs down, Tre still keeps it super tight. I also love his dance when the band plays "Shout"
