This is the GoPro version of my takeoff from San Diego. Very quick flight home after a quick 40 minute turn around in San Diego. Just enough time to grab lunch and check out the Skyclub! If you don't to watch the plane taxi go ahead and use the chapters to skip to whatever part of the video you actually want to see. I like leaving the taxi part on because somewhere down the road we will look back at this video and see planes and liveries we never see anymore.

7:50 That view is very evocative for me. In 1987, I left San Diego for a new life in England. That fencing was less robust in those days, and my parents were clearly visible on the other side of it, waving handkerchiefs at me as we taxied to the runway. I could see my mother, crying her eyes out, and my father wiping away a tear. The takeoff roll felt like a hand shoving me forward, unstoppable, towards my future. Still makes me emotional to this day.
I hope you got to see them again.
