I never thought I would get the Mavic Mini when I’m so used to a bigger drone (The Mavic 2 Pro and a bigger sensor). But I was wrong for this one. I was actually surprised when DJI brought out a Pro Mini Drone.
So why the Mini 3 is called a Pro drone? So there are 2 major things made me purchase this drone. First, 1the video specs, this little drone shoots 10Bit 4K upto 60p. Second, the smart controller. I love having a built in LCD screen on the controller. Because I really hate using my phone as a screen.
And because this drone can do portrait mode. So even when you shooting normal 16:9 video you could tilt the camera up to achieve a really cool look. Like in the 1:15 and 1:50. Those two shots I would never be able to get that with my Mavic 2 Pro.
I’m actually quite like the f/1.7 lens. During the test, I was able to keep it at ISO 100 with f/1.7 aperture during the sunset time. I remember when I did the Mavic 2 Pro video. I had to set it to ISO 800 for sunset. Even though the sensor size of the Mavic 2 Pro is much bigger than the Mini 3. But having ISO 800 on a tiny camera. It is still very noisy. And surprisingly, I thought a f/1.7 lens would be a bit soft. Especially the lens has a fixed aperture. You have to shoot wide open at all time. Maybe due to the small sensor size. The video is very nice and sharp.
Note: During the review, I couldn’t get the ND filter set on time. As it was still under pre-order on DJI website. So I have tried my best to keep the shutter speed low. But some of the shots still a bit fast. Hopefully when I get my ND filter set. Then I will do another follow up video.
Also I had the 4096x2160 info wrong at the beginning, its actually UHD 3840x2160 (Typo Mistake)

probably the cleanest mini 3 footage i’ve seen on YT. great pp as always. that 10 bit option really makes thing easier.

I think the same , a really good video using the mini 3 pro. But as you can see this guy is shooting only with really good light and it help a lot also.
Most of others youtubers they don't care and then it's totally different as a result

Excellent performance from the Mini 3 Pro. It’s impressive what these tiny drones can do these days.
I have a Mini 2 and it gets the job done pretty darn well but I still love seeing how far DJI can go with these tiny little drones that weigh less than 250 grams. Excellent stuff 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful footage and tasteful music! Looked great with mostly 180 deg shutter. Highlights weren't clipping, colours were lovely. That 10 bit is a godsend. Thanks!

Named “Pro” for a reason. Delivers like a big drone but with the convenience of a mini drone. I’m loving the Mini 3 Pro so far.
Agreed. In most of the situation, I couldn't tell the difference between my one inch sensor Mavic 2 Pro. I mean, the dynamic range is a bit better on the Mavic 2 Pro due to the bigger sensor. But for the size. Mini 3 Pro wins for sure :)

Thank you very much. Yea all the DJI NDs for the Mini 3 are still backordered. No stock until late June. So I have tried my best to shoot it around the sunset time. Yea I did grade the footage ☺️

very nice footage & color grade... I'm still struggling sometimes to get the footage to look right in post ... any tricks you can share? How do you expose, for example? A bit of overexposing with "log" is always good, I guess. ;) Also, do you use any LUT to get things to a good starting level, or do you color grade even shot from 0 to 100% so to say ;) again, great shots and look!
Incredible video!! I have the mavic 3 and love it. noticed you weren’t always double your frame rate for your shutter speed. What is the quick and dirty idea behind that. When do you adjust it out of that double frame rate?
City lights flicker, I can't see other reason. When I shot in 60p every artificial light flickers and that's annoying

The Mavic Mini 3 Pro is a great drone, it's good, beautiful and relatively accessible, the quintessential semi-professional drone of 2023, by the way, good job guys, good shots, they give me the feeling of the beginning of an inspiring movie 🎬
So now tht i see an actual pro use this drone, i want this 1. Imma beginner n i have 2 questions. Did u buy a lens or anything to make the camera quality better? And what did you do when you uploaded this to TH-cam to get the whole full quality to stick to the upload? It looks amazing

just got one. i think i commented on your mavic 3 cine video and thought that drone was WAY too expensive. ofc w/o proRes the mavic 3 with flymore and a smart controller was STILL 2800 dollars! Well, $1200 for this, smart controller, and the fly more PLUS package and a case seemed like a big upgrade over my 1st gen mavic pro. so excited.
your footage is amazing. do you use film convert and Neat video to cancel noise? Also, what sharpness settings on the drone did you use? Phillip Bloom's review has me think that the sharpness isn't controllable on this drone but i hope they release a firmware update to support it. your grading is just simply the best I can find. insane.

D Cinelike videos aren’t working for me and many people after the latest update. None of my devices are able to process the output files (iPhone 12 pro Max, MacBook pro, a laptop with iOS. Etc). Not even the Premiere pro is reading those files. I have to shot on Normal Profile as well as many other people according to the DJI forums. I’d love to know what you managed to process them! Thanks!

Thanks. The drone is below 249g. So you could fly no problem. The app did let me take off. But it did pop up a message please beware when planes around. I remember when I had the Mavic 2 Pro. It wouldn’t let me take off when it’s near the no fly zone.
