I don’t know who’s booking these opening acts but they deserve a raise
Two of the greatest musicians of their generation, Sierra Hull and Justin Moses.. and they happened to be married. Sierra has an awesome band and Justin has played with almost everyone. They were both featured on Bela Fleck’s My Bluegrass Heart tour over the last year and a half and Sierra played on all of the Sturgill Simpson Bluegrass recordings. The two of them together makes for some incredible playing and singing.
Sierra Hull is flipping brilliant. Equally adept on all mandolin family instruments, guitar and who knows what else. Justin, her husband, is a match for her. I first heard her at Merlefest when she was 13 playing in front of 75000 people and already knocking it out of the park. She has done nothing but mature and improve since. She plays equally well slow and soulful as fast and furious.
That was a real treat for all us bluegrass fans ! Sierra's right up there with Molly Tuttle in the BG world
This is one of the many things that I love about you Lee; you don't shun talented artists to make yourself look so much better, you bring them to the front and shine the spotlight on them! Thank you my friend. I hope that you realize just how much of a boost in recognition and validation that you brought these two by spotlighted them on your channel to your fans and friends! You're a good man my friend.

Well, thank you, Leland. This was a treat! We have been fans of Justin and Sierra for quite some time. It's too bad Ethan Jodziewicz isn't playing URB with them anymore. Their show was an outright spectacle. That theater is going to be full of musical joy this evening. Have a grand time, and thanks again!
Virtuoso mandolinist and ArtistWorks bluegrass mandolin instructor, Sierra Hull, was recognized as 2022’s “Mandolin Player of the Year,” making this her fifth victory in the category after winning three consecutive years in a row between 2016 and 2018 and taking home the award in 2021 as well.
Justin Moses is a unique acoustic instrumentalist and singer. He plays mandolin, guitar, banjo, fiddle, dobro, and bass. He made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2008 with the Dan Tyminski Band and was named 2018 Dobro Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA).
Hull and Moses were married on May 14, 2017.

I have been crazy about Sierra Hull go a few years already. I saw her at Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion 2 1/2 weeks ago. She and her band gave such great performances! (Not that this was surprising.)
