It's amazing how advanced she is, sitting down with all the great ones. And in many cases she tries not to make them look too bad. 🤣

Loved her bit at the end about giving the listener a chance to appreciate the melody. All the best players I've heard really give you a distinct impression of the melody and I've noticed this to be true in their recordings :) She knows her stuff

I adore Sierra's Tennessee Accent, it's so honest.

But the strange thing is she seems to lose the accent when she's singing.

Just discovering Sierra! Where have I been? She is amazingly talented, attractive, and with all the tools needed for success in Music, but there are no guarantees in this crazy business! Hang in there Girl, there is ample room for you! Hope to catch up with you in Nashville sometime. CG

I play some jazz and the old Django Reinhardt stuff, as well as bluegrass, and one way to look at it is this -- you don't want them to forget what song it is! If you're so far out there that they forget what song it is then you're probably a little too far out there

In jazz, historically speaking, paraphrasing the melody in an improvised solo was more characteristic of the earlier swing era and pretty much ignoring the melody completely was more characteristic of the later bebop era. There are ways to make your solos not “just a lot of stuff” without paraphrasing the melody, but we might reasonably classify these as more advanced techniques and keep them in reserve when advising beginners.

She will go down in history as one of the great talents. I love her. ❤ but in this video I really want to fix the part in her hair😅" now Sierra, just sit down here a second. I'm going to take this comb and fix that part. It's driving me crazy I'm having a hard time concentrating on what you were saying😅🤣😂"
