ID3 won't sell in the USA. This is why GM Discontinued the Bolt. This is why Toyota discontinued the Yaris, even the larger Corolla, which is Toyota's best selling worldwide car, doesn't sell very well in the USA despite being one of the cheapest. Americans would rather buy a large used car, vs a small new car.

@@TheCostofAutism , interesting take. I kid you not, but I bought 2 Bolts in the last year(my wife and I each drive one), and both of my ICE cars before that were Toyota Yaris. My boss now drives a compact Yaris. We must be outliers. That being said, the number of massive white trucks around here is inane. The kicker is that none of the people I know who own those large trucks do actual ‘truck-things’ with them. Incredible waste of gas. Maybe I just don’t get the truck thing. Especially when you don’t use it for work, recreation, or things or that nature.

Definitely not in America. The dealers here will find a way to artificially jack the price up. They're very good at that and have screwed me over twice by trying to inflate the price, within days before pickup, by tacking on a "market demand adjustment' at the last minute. I told both of them to kiss my ass and ended up buying a used model in fantastic condition for MUCH better price. As you can probably tell, I despise the sleaziness of most dealerships.

New study calculates climate change’s economic bite will hit about $38 TRILLION a year by 2049, according to Wednesday’s study in the journal Nature by researchers at Germany’s Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. By 2100 the financial cost could hit twice that or more. “Our analysis shows that climate change will cause massive economic damages within the next 25 years in almost all countries around the world, especially in highly-developed ones such as Germany and the U.S., with a projected median income reduction of at least 11% each and France with 13%,” said study co-author Leonie Wenz, a climate scientist and economist. Last year, a record-hot year, the global average temperature was 1.35 degrees Celsius (2.43 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than pre-industrial times, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The globe has not had a month cooler than 20th century average since February 1979.

The 2024 versions of VW seem much better than earlier versions. I would like to have an ID.7 Tourer but with fast charging semi-solid state battery and four wheel steering like IM L6. The ID.7 is very comfortable, quiet, have HUD, AR, LiDAR, 360 cameras, parking sensors. I don’t know much about Xpeng, maybe they can make the software better and build it cheaper. Maybe they can make self driving work. The new Nio seems to have extremely good comfort and can go over 1000 km on one charge in real life, but I believe it’s very expensive. And even though Nio has 2400 battery swap stations in China, only 5 exist in Sweden. Tesla’s self driving does not work at all in Europe. And Tesla Vision is a joke compared to any car with 360 cameras, LiDAR and parking sensors. There are some cities that already have robo-taxis with Waymo system. So what can Xpeng really add, except what I already mentioned?

    • @EmmanuelJotterand

Yes they could use lot of Xpeng technologies since 2016, the problem is that the 2024 models of Volkswagen were made in 2021, while Xpeng is doing each month imprvement to their models, with a global standardized chassis, which is modular and which allows quick improvements when requested... The only problem is the programming, which does not respect EJFJ Corporation PSC proposition of SDC++ allowing auto-programming based on good experiments and EJFJ Cumulative Cleverness EJFJ allowing all customers to have all brands working for his security and pleasure, whatever car he bought! And we own only what we really benefit from, not what we paid for far too expensively!

Saying Volkwagen is not building good EVs or is not evolving is simply showing you having a massive bias.
The new ID7 is an amazing car and the 4.0+ Software is so far away from what you had in the ID3s, it's not even funny.
Go watch Chris from Carmaniac Videos about the ID7 and the new Tourer. He provides subtitles.
Volkswagen has proven to listen to critics and to be willing and able to evolve very rapidly.

It is clear why VW has given up on German-based manufacturing, but it is a sad indictment of VW's and in general, Germany's lack of investment in the software, programming, and the greater Digitalisation of the country, that they also leave the software development to the chinese!
It was being said over 12 years ago, but there was no political or industry will to 'change a working system' !
Such hubris and lack of foresight is typical of Germany, and the industrial unions have always been totally against change!
Additionally, whereas start-up culture in the USA is borne from 'out-of-the-box' thinking, to make radical innovations and market disrupters; Germany is a society plagued by over-regulation and a culture of why have only one rule when you can have 10!
Whilst over-regulation generated top quality equipment for the last 80 years, and countries were happy to pay the cost because no-one else could achieve the same quality; the world has moved on a few evolutionary steps, but Germany hasn't!
With VW's market share crashing in China and the USA, I don't see them being able to service their $200B of debt in the next 3-5 years because their long term cradit rating will HAVE to be downgraded after 2026!

Xpeng is based on EJFJ Cumulative Cleverness, Tesla robbed AI with other pirat American companies, and blocked EJFJ humano-normed Reforms, allowing roads to be identifiied clearly for what they are made for! Xpeng is moch on advance, Tesla is betting on cameras partial view, they did a fantastic work with only bad sensors, Xpeng uses much better ones, much more informations to treat, but still not the most accurate ones given by EJFJ Positive Contextualisation (reading micro-magnetic micro-chips fluctuations based on relative moments) and EJFJ Positive Communications given by all electronical or computer systems, those of street lamps for example, whi can detect which vehicle is moving, and give them informations if they need to pass on the right or less, and how far from this street lamp! This easy method was blocked was blocked since February 1994...

    • @EmmanuelJotterand
      @EmmanuelJotterand 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@speedismyfriend Exactly, EJFJ Positive Contextualisation is still blocked, but was introduced on February 4th, 1994. It has been blocked by the SFM:id2004 but Elon Musk and othersparodied it badly, to make Artificial Intelligence, while EJFJ Cumulative Cleverness is not well respected... I talked few minutes ago with 2 bus drivers in Lausanne, who aggreed that risk management (as Tesla does) is not cleverness, but the contrary... Following a road is not due to cleverness, but to necessity ! But roads should be clearly identified by few lanthanid atoms showing it is a flat way, made for a certain type of vehicle, so useable by any smaller one... But the first there is prioritary but needs to assume occupying the place uncorectly blocking others vehicles moving conveniently... The 5 priority levels, are defined on usability and EJFJ Cumulative Cleverness to allow all vehicles existing together securely... Identifying such roads cost from 0.5 $ up to maximum 3$ per kilometer, so this is much more efficient than any other type of visual indications that computer system can hardly understand when conditions are not optimum after a natural disaster... And such disasters should be spared... Tesla is achieving good things, when the weather is convenient and the light is sufficient... But it cannot see what is hidden behind a wall, EJFJ Positive Contextualisation does this, and spare any risks, even those which killed few Tesla owners who encountered an accident... Now Tesla is following Xpeng, for years, since 1996 at least, but before this they followed BMW Group, Mercedes Benz, and others brands, and just took lot of risks trying things others did not dare to try! But they robbed the ideas of some of your 17 Public Services Companies, which are still partially parodied and blocked (Bill !T, Staff COM Mobility PSC and Mail Direct International PSC notably... Because of Tesla and fake partners but real opponents, we are far from perfection, while we should all collaborate effectively to try reaching it better and better... Not each of us by holing a driving wheel in the hands even if we do not have any effort to do to turn it... But it still needs to be turned usefully, at any moment, and this needs to be warrantied to all, and not be managed partially by all, and assumed by those who create wasteful and dramatic accidents which should never be accomplishable...

Viking, a Tesla employee did this about 5 years ago, not Xpeng. Case is settled. What's more do you really think just having Tesla's code from 2019 can get a company to FSD? Tesla is just now, many iterations later, getting close to FSD. Maybe it helped with some basic direction, but, the bulk of the work is Xpeng's 5 years later.
