    A POINT ABOUT GENERATORS FOR CAMPING/BOONDOCKING. An INVERTER is what they want, not a typical crude generator. An Inverter will do the trick, being setup to not damage sensitive electronics which is what we're dealing with on a travel trailer. Your vid does show your 3400 wtt Champion, running on propane, a very good recommendation vs gasoline. I have the gasoline type, using it sparingly, not totally dependent. Folks picking various equipment on the market will often choose what they can afford, but it's best to purchase reliable, and reasonably priced items, instead of the most expensive items out there for sale.

      Good point, I do have several generator videos and address Inverter Generators vs open frame. Thanks for watching.

    Just purchased a 2021 Airstream Globetrotter 27FBQ with 180 watt Zamp solar panels on roof, dealer replaced original AGM batteries with Deep cycle batteries, is this acceptable or should only AGM be used, I heard that lead acid batteries will be fried eventually from the constant solar charging.

      The AGM that Airstream uses are Lifeline brand and are very good batteries. And yes, eventually all lead acid will die and I usually get about 4 to 5 years on a set of batteries. The precautions you saw in this video will help to sustain the life of your batteries. The key is try to never drain them to 50 percent or lower. By doing this one, twice or three times will damage the battery and they will never reach 100 percent full charge again. I also cover this topic in my book too. Good luck and I'll give you a link: My Airstream Mentor amzn.to/47Sx1Fr

    Thanks for all your great advice in this video and others. I store my 2022 Airstream 25' International trailer in an enclosed unit that has a 110 electric outlet. I use an adapter to connect from the outlet to a surge protecter, which is connected to our 50-amp cord, which is then connected to the trailer. Two questions: 1) When I connect to a 50-amp outlet at a campsite a blue light comes on the cord's plug-in connected to the trailer to indicate I am getting power. However, that light does not come on with the configuration I described above. Any thoughts why the indicator light does not come on? 2) Do I need to have the main battery disconnect in the on (use) position to charge the battery when I am connected to shore power at my storage unit?

      Have not noticed the blue light not coming on when on anything other than 50 amp but I wouldn't worry about that. Second question, some model year Airstreams would not charge the battery when in the stor position but on your 2022 you should be okay either way. I never touch my battery shut off switch, it is always in the use position and I keep the trailer connected to shore power (30 or 15 amp) when in storage. Appreciate your comment very much and thank you for watching.

    Is it okay to leave our Airstream plugged in all winter in the pole barn even if the temperature gets down below freezing?

    • @LandingZoneHome
      @LandingZoneHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can leave it plugged in and the battery will be fine. A fully charged battery can handle freezing temps but an uncharged battery can not. You still need to winterize the AS but I'm sure you know that. Thank you for watching.
