  • In a recent interview, Mediacorp actor Shaun Chen, a Singapore PR, announced that he and his family have relocated to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Chen, who plans to retire in Malaysia eventually, highlighted a 30% reduction in living expenses since the move.
Online comments reflect a growing trend of Singaporeans considering dual-country living or relocating for financial reasons.
Many view Chen's move as a practical strategy for managing expenses, especially in light of Singapore’s high living and education costs.
This shift underscores broader concerns about the affordability of raising children and retirement planning in Singapore.

Majority of Malaysian’s PRs after making enough money in Singapore would eventually return to where they came from. Malaysia is still the country they loved and they would always be loyal to their birth country.

This trend is very sad. Singaporeans leaving Singapore for the wrong reasons. Our ancestors work so hard to build this nation not to see this. The government doesn’t care because they are already replacing locals with foreigners. I really don’t understand why Singaporeans cannot see the truth and would rather downgrade to be second class citizens in a 3rd world country. Singapore belongs to Singaporeans and not any political parties. Don’t let our forefathers down. Reclaim back our country. Vote wisely in the next election.

Well, kbw did float the idea for Singaporeans to retire in Jb before. Was it a test balloon? Only God knows. Anyways, when the RTS is running, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out it’s actually feasible to live in JB.

I think many media actors and actresses voted for the PAPigs to continue their acting jobs. I don't think they care very much about the well being of their compatriots other than their acting careers, popularity and revenues unless they lost it.
Otherwise, how much did the PAPigs pay for such move aka vacate to JB Promotion?

This is even more obvious at the time Alloysius Pang died.
You dun see any Mediacorpse actor coming to voice out that Alloysius Pang's death was very much due to the current regime.
Not a single one of them had the integrity or the balls to speak out for him.

GST tax also tax the poor and the unemployed. GST Tax Revenue is nearly as high as the Corporate Income Tax Revenue.

I think Sinkies should rather spend a bit of their time to calculate and know how much they are paying to the GST per year base on their annual expenditure X 9% X 10 years Plus similar contribution from their household members and then reject the vouchers bait and VTO for a permanent solution to the problems of inflation and hardships.

PAPigs internal caused Inflation [GST, Carbon Tax Hikes] likely depreciated Elderly Retirement Saving by some 40%? These days $50 almost cannot buy anything.
I bought from a small neighborhood store. The Super Value 600 Bread has increased from $1.10 to $2.30. That is 109% increase in price just 1.8 years ago.
In case any one of you are in doubts, just compare prices across the border OR the price of your petrol.

Inflation benefits the PAPigs and their Enterprise.
Singaporeans should NOT be mistaken and feel proud of the currency exchange rate BECAUSE the "Benefits" of Cheaper Imports are NOT passed down to Singaporeans example eaten away by the "Enterprise created internal inflations" and Only serves to benefit the Rich at the expense of the hardships of ordinary Singaporeans.
