Fun fact about this movie : Guillermo Del Toro (the creator of the first pacific rim) came to the director of uprising, whom I don’t know the name of, and told them “don’t make a Del Toro movie” which is possibly the nicest thing a filmmaker could say to someone making a movie… it’s a shame how it turned out

I like how this movie has one of the exact same problems as The Last Knight😂. Child female character and her mini robot sidekick introduced in the beginning of the film in some abandoned city/town, and is not seen again until the very end of the film, by helping the main characters do a special thing that helps them win the finale battle.
Well... true but Last Knight was better in my opinion... better actions, optimus prime, just optimus prime is worth it.

You were talking about wanting a show about this and the jaegers, well there is a show! Pacific Rim: The Black is an animated series from the same universe as the two films and I would defiantly recommend it. The show isn't too long either so you could finish it pretty fast and it is a Netflix Original. I would personally love to see you watch it since very few reactors have.

You should ABSOLUTELY watch the power rangers movie. Few things have given me that level of nostalgia, hype and pogchamp emotes than the scene with the zords that has the original music. That stuff hits different I tell you
During WW2 the US Navy commissioned an ice cream barge to manufacture ice cream for the sailors in the Pacific, that's how badly soldiers love ice cream :P

My opinion of this movie is practically the same as yours. The movie isn't terrible, it's actually kinda fun, it's just not Pacific Rim. Between killing off most of the character's from the original (the actual main character died off screen and all we get is a shot of him on the memorial wall) the weird tone, and the lack of robots fighting giant monsters, it just isn't Pacific Rim.
Agreed. I still hate the copium of people pretending it doesn't exist or that it's a fan made movie. It's supposed to be a joke, but it's more annoying than funny...
As sad as it is, it does exist.

Definitely not as good as the 1st one but still plenty enjoyable.
1st one u can just feel every decision almost and it's consequences.. this one was just an off-brand speed run with different designs per Jaeger (except Jypsy Danger of course) but at least there was a twist at the end with 3 separate kaiju I think forming together with technological help

This is an interesting fan made film
This was not well received by critics or fans, as it was pale in comparison to the original Pacific Rim.
The movie bombed at the box office, $290 million dollars against a $176 million dollar budget. If it had broke even, $500-600 million dollars, then a third film would have worked, but it killed the franchise, until the Pacific Rim Netflix series.
There’s a new anime Kaiju no.8 thats pretty good.

Obsidian Fury was able to handle them so easily BECOUSE it had an actual brain.
There was no lag between the 2+ pilots, like with Gipsy Avenger.
They should have waited for Guillermo del Toro to Do the Sequel.....
In the first movie, the pilots had to walk really slowly in the cockpit to sync with the jaeger's movement. In this move, they just max speed full sprint inside the cockpit. How are you supposed to become one with the jaeger and control its every movement when you don't sync up?
