Really the pack in game Gate of Thunder over Lords of Thunder which is also good but my favorite is Vasteel. It’s a turn based strategy mech game that goes into hand to hand arcade combat mode using fists, bullets, lasers & rockets etc when you land on an occupied space. Incredible single player campaign and even better in multiplayer. Beyond Shadowgate is another great game, action, adventure type
I had a Duo in 1993-1995; I was gutted when it was decided to pull North American support and phase out with the one game per month plan for 1994 and then nothing more. My top ten would look like this: Lords of Thunder Gate of Thunder Dungeon Explorer 2 Ys Book 1 and 2 Dynastic Hero Spriggan Ys IV The Dawn of Ys Macross 2036 Image Fight II Star Parodier I know that Castlevania would be at the top of the list for many people, and for good reason, but I honestly didn't get around to it back then or even now. I've spent plenty of time with repeat plays on Super Castlevania IV and Aria of Sorrow to name a couple but others I have not gotten to yet. I had the second Exile game, some good cutscenes (and some cheesy ones courtesy of Working Designs) but I never understood why it was so hard. I made it to the second to the last boss (Genie) after grinding through that game and it was too much trouble for what it was worth. Then I find out much later in life that Working Designs made adjustments and the game is actually more player friendly as it was originally designed. Fortunately now there is a restoration patch that undoes the questionable changes that WD made so it can be enjoyed in english properly in the present; would have been nice to play through it that way back then. Oh well I got it on clearance for fifteen bucks.
Turbo CD is a blast, and these were all fun recommendations. I'm not exactly sure on the order, but my top ten are probably: Gradius II Gate of Thunder Castlevania Dracula X Ys Books 1 & 2 Legend of Xanadu II Last Alert Dowtown Nekketsu Koushin Kyoku Sorejuke Daiundoukai R-Type Complete CD Macross 2036 Lords of Thunder I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. I'd put Exile there, but mine is sealed because I played the Sega Genesis version instead. Same with Cosmic Fantasy 2. Still haven't opened that one. Saving it for a rainy day.
The only pre-2000 consoles I have are the Atari 7800 and Jaguar. If I added another, I'd want it to be a TurboGrafX. Maybe it's because I only knew a few people that owned one, and the fact that I was kind of a weeb in high school, I always found the TG intriguing.
I always thought the turbo graphics 16 was so cool but i never got to own one. Now it runs on my phone so this is a great list to make sure i have all the good games i lissed out on
Awesome video, I didn't know there were so many great titles for this console! Just a quick note though; it sounds like the gameplay audio recording might have been done in mono rather than stereo, it only came through on my left speaker. I only noticed this because I have done the same thing when recording/editing videos, then realized when I switched over to another device that I had failed to double check with a pair of headphones while editing 😅 I'm not sure what video editor you use, but you should be able to clone the mono channel to stereo for both the left and right sides. I use DaVinci resolve and it can be done from the audio properties for each clip. Random thing, but I hope that mentioning it helps out! Side note; I liked the concept you had of trying out 10 random games on a system, maybe you could do that again and then throw your own commentary/experiences with the games? They don't even have to be good per se, I'd just enjoy hearing your thoughts on them! ✌️😁

I've ran into the same audio issues when using an external audio interface for my microphones, two different capture cards (generic HDMI and a Pinnacle Dazzle for composite), and when generating text-to-speech audio clips. I ALWAYS forget to double check that in OBS when recording and in my video editor, so I usually end up with audio blaring out the left side, hence my assumption when I heard this audio lol. Now I'm curious though, what is your capture setup for the system? I'm trying to come up with a better solution than my very jerry-rigged setup, any help would be greatly appreciated!

The second exile is trash. The other games on the list are great. I haven’t played macross 2036 yet 🤔

Dude, great video! The TurboGrafX has always been a bit of a black whole in my knowledge. So cool to see some good games for it.
Monster Lair was always one of my favs. I usually played it with the infinite continue code in the High Score and played to the end.
