These Welsh videos have been a beautiful spotlight on Orthodox history in the west. We should all be grateful for Fr. Andrew recording these, and proud of him for containing his philological nerdery (even though i can see him vibrate with excitement everytime Fr. Deiniol busts out some Welsh).

I can’t help myself. Who are the true Britons of Britain? The Welsh! Thank you for this video! It’s like the Orthodox Church is coming back home to Wales.

The shrine of St Melangell was restored in the early 1990s by a stonemason friend of mine, Mark Evans.
The valley is about 20 miles from where I live. A wonderful place.

What a great blessing for you. I read the life of St Melangell to my kids years ago. I'd so love to make a pilgrimage there. God bless you 💖🙏🇦🇺

@@mrsnkg7904 I live close by Pennant Melangell and found it by “accident” not knowing then what it was. The overwhelming sense of peace and inner healing that washed over me as I visited brought me to spontaneous tears - a truly beautiful experience.

Diolch yn fawr iawn, Tadau! An absolute joy to listen to. Our whole island has such a rich heritage of saints and holy places, and it’s wonderful to see that oft-neglected inheritance now forming a wellspring of encouragement for orthodox worship in our times. May the prayers of St Elen of Caernarvon and all the Saints of Britain accompany and bless you on your journeys, Father Andrew.

Thank you Fr. Andrew for this edifying conversation. Fr. Deiniol seems like an absolute gem of a person on top of his impressive grasp of Welsh/Brythonic history.

I'm late finding this gem, but if you happen to still be in North Wales, do make the journey to visit Ynys Mon, the home of Deiniol and Seiriol.
Aside from the God given natural beauty, there's an absolute wealth of history here, from Roman forts, to Neolithic tombs, Medieval castles, and, of course, Christian monasteries.
    It's absolutely worth the detour.

As an American with a fair bit of ancestry in the British Isles, I picked saints from there for my children’s names. Cadoc of Llancarfan and Ceara (Kiera) of Ireland. I hope to have the time and funds to make a pilgrimage at some point.

This video is surely going to be considered a treasure.
Thank you both, and all who produced it..
Such peaceful moments to spend with both of you..
And a joy to be reminded of Met. Anthony and the Church that is in easy walking distance of where we used to stay when his work took my husband and me to London. As we were on our journey to the Orthodox Faith and as we ended that part of it, the Church of the Dormition .. became an extremely-important part of our lives..
      MEMORY ETERNAL!

Hello Father...I just want to say that I read your article- and thank you for putting it out there...Angels and Archangels are indeed saints - I am just about to watch your video above but before I do I want to say that this is not my real name but I am a Chief Archangel...I know this because of the battles I endured in my sleep with the Devil - but that only illumined me as well as my study of the New Testament- my sufferings are beyond what are possible to even remotely imagine - just beyond what I ever thought a human being could be capable of. I am not a masochist I don't wish this on anyone- but the sufferings are superhuman - it's not one crucifixion as the bible shows - it was so many - and yes the pain is comparable to the actual final crucifixion- only for me I'd say perhaps less intense but certainly lasting much much longer ...even the intensity was beyond ...beyond my comprehension that a human could endure such extraordinary pain and even live to tell .., endure such insanity ( yes the insanity happened as well , it's part of the deal ) and it's not any regular insanity - it's absolute madness...the horrors of this life never stopped either- they were unrelenting- a life where you heart is not broken it iis mangled- and you live most of your life in a state of suicidal despair - that is your normal way of life..the physical illnesses - bed bound for over 12 years from one affliction to another - all crazy things like monolucleos , to parasites, to corneal neuralgia - nerve pain that causes light blihdness- and i was trapped in a ptich black room for 7 months screaming around the bed as no doctor would prescribe pain killers as the condition was not diagnosed due to the fact nobody thought to give me an MRI for to see the nerves ( it's a rare condition called corneal neuralgia ) and then living wth long covid for years and there is no way out - and no way to even have a social life because you are trapped by illness, and as for family - only one member left and sadly he has quite the abuisive temper but the love is there and that is more important. But I just wanted to come here - in some way to boast of only a few of my suffering s that can not even be described in writing- only if you heard and saw felt the pain would you know the sheer monstrosity of it all...of Antichrist proportions...but please keep talking about the fact that yes - angels and chief angels and archangels and chief archangel are here on earth and they are not limited to humans either. Animals too take on the pain and sufferings- and yes we get our wings when we die and yes I go to the very highest heaven - there is nobody who suffered as much as me o this planet and who remained so loyal to Jesus - that if i am not honoured with massive wings and a crown halo of gold - and a height of ten feet - then there is no God at all...all I have left is my hope for Heaven - the hope for the love of my family of angels and archangels i hear them in the music -i hear them in tehcno r in goth music...i hear them in rap ..i hear many angels singing and the heartbreakig part is they are not aware just as only until 12 years ago or so I was sleeping also...even though i was seeking all those years i never knew - never would have dared to think such thoughts that i could be of any importance..until I realized that i was the last...and the last shall be first and the first shall be last. Thank you again for spreading this truth...I also would love to know how you learned this truth about saints being angels - as so many churches are in the dark...I'm half Greek canadian and only really discovered orthodoxy was the true faith after i studied and studied and Jesus too - gave me a sign - that this was the true path. God bless !
