- Fighting at the Armored Combat League's national tournament at Fitcon in Salt Lake City, Utah vs Andrew Gober. It was over 90F and humid and the heat was kicking my butt so I was conserving more energy than normal.

@@axemaster Just started getting into this knight armor brutal and exciting fight stuff like now 😂 What are the rules in this and how does this sport/hobbie/Combat whatever you call it work? I have so much questions i guess i can do my reasearch but hope you can answer some basic questioms for new comers like myself. Ive only watched about 4 of your videos (still going) and this stuff is brutal and love the history behind it. Awsome channel though 💪🏾

@@mrjackelbox4418 From what I've seen, it takes massive balls and effort to compete in a sport like this, let alone the time and investment not in just getting the suit of armor and equipment, but also it's maintenance and the practice that goes into performing in such equipment.
Say what you will, the lad delivered at least one solid hit before he went down.

@@axemaster You didn't go insanely hard and throw your weight around like you could've but you still showed him what it's like to fight a skilled opponent and didn't dick him around with kid gloves. Proably not as hard as you think.... the proablem is not dying to that knight.... experienced knights know this, so when u walk up all defensively they already know lol

Lots of boring core excercises supersets with big compound lifts. Planks, dragon tails, leg lifts, dumbbell side bends etc

Young un had energy and good spirit, but nothing truly can trump experience. Not a single movement or once of energy wasted. Simon controlled that poleaxe like a damn pencil the way he pivoted it to go under and around his opponents strikes. At some point the poor kid had to have realized that every time he swung he was gonna get hit. Didnt stop tho, what a ledge. Props to both! Hope theyre both fighting strong still

Me too! Tournaments like this give rookies a chance to experience the level that national and world champions fight at. We do have "rookie only" even if you have been fighting in armor less than 3 years

It happens otnwhen people fight me. Check out the rest of my channel. In tournament sometimes when there are no "seed" rounds. We are now jist getting the number of fighters to the point where we do that.

Nothing, for the same reason Nothing happens when a boxer or MMA fighter dies in the ring.

Those heavy armors that limit moving, its probably the case that bigger man won these medieval duels, no wonder why Mongols smashed through European knights like hot knife through butter, they were literally clay pigeons

@@axemasterYea but those early armors were not like later plate armors, anyway I think these medieval tournaments in modern times are not even close to actual medieval fightning, You wear armors that are much thicker which means it only makes sense to use heavy 2 handed weapons such as axes and great swords, it does not look like longsword or mace can do much damage to them, so the heavier weapon the more chance for wining and the bigger the dude the more swinging power.
@almedinkuc6514 of course it's not. Just like an MMA match doesn't look like a street fight. Thats why it's called a "tournament." The idea of slashing with an edge through armor is ridiculous. "Thicker armor" isn't the reason why it doesn't look like the movies.

They are coming for obvious reasons. Right now tho, the numbers of fighters won't allow us to do that except at the largest events
