Northampton Transport Heritage Open Day 8 September 2018 and Northampton Buses

Vintage buses from the Northampton Transport heritage feature in this film as I visited there on one of the Heritage Open Days when many of its beautiful historic buildings and venues which are usually closed open their doors to the public.
Historic heritage buses belonging to the Northampton Transport Trust provided free rides to many of these venues.
The film begins with the buses arriving in George Row and we also see a few of the local churches before the buses depart on trips at the local area including Hunsbury Hill Country Park and Ironstone Railway Museum which is visited before returning to Northampton on 246 to take a look around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and National Leather Collection and some entertainment in Market Square from The Northampton Concert Band. We then see a trip along Kettering Road aboard open top Diamond Coach "Lady Patricia". Finally there are some more modern Northampton buses shown at the end of the film at Northgate Bus Station.

H654 VVV Leyland Olympian (1990)
NBD 311F Bristol RELL6G (1967)
R369 LGH Volvo Olympian (1997) Hamiltons of Desborough
R738 XRV Volvo Olympian (1998) Diamond Coaches of Rushden.
There was really so much going on and you would need a few days to be able to see all the attractions such as the Weedon Ordnance Depot or take a boat trip along the Grand Union Canal at Blisworth.

Thanks Craig. It's great on these heritage days when they use the buses to take you to visit the attractions. Always a great day out and hopefully I can get to Northampton again in September.

I didn't go there myself to check but received a guide from the bus people which gave details of the venues which were opening and bus times. I think the event is on again next weekend but no classic buses operating.
