South Yorkshire Transport Trust Summer Open Day 2023

Preserved buses in action from South Yorkshire feature as I made my first visit to Rotherham for the South Yorkshire Transport Trust Running Day.
Plenty of superb buses from the Trust's collection were out in force offering trips to Rotherham and around the local area and you were able to look around their collection and see restoration projects in progress. The wet weather did not dampen anyone's spirits and there was a good turnout ensuring an interesting and enjoyable day for all. Thank you to the Trust and volunteers and bus owners for all their efforts. Nice trips on 2120, 245, 227, 874, 2717 and 252. The action starts with some of the buses arriving and then departing on trips. I then take a look at some of the buses on display and inside the depot itself. Some of the buses can be seen at Rotherham Interchange along with a couple of service vehicles.

I lived in Upton for a few months catching buses to Barnsley, Pontefract and Doncaster in the late 60s rain snow or sunshine always turned uo😜😉😜
