    The best bet of all with horses is a stake of O unless you have the DISCIPLINE to follow eg Hugh Taylor of ATR who has shown a level stakes profit of 200-500 points EVERY YEAR since 2009. Also......every day on Betfair there are horses especially on the all weather who drift alarmingly from EG 3/1 to 6/1 minutes before the off. Watch those horses and the rides many of them are given, out the back and never put in the race. Some people know what can't win, but the public don't, that's why your maximum stake should be 0.

      or only betting group/graded races and form a strong opinion. That way you can have 2 or 3 big bets a week with horses who are definitely trying in races where there are only really 2 or 3 potential winners. Agree with discipline though, got to keep it at level stakes.

    Couple of strange things today, 27, 1, 18, the start of the last race at Cheltenham, false start, had to be, and the first race at kempton 5'45, I'm sure that the fav won, but the judge give it to a 20 /1 shot, watch both replays of the races if you can, and let me know what you think 🤔

    Can't believe this guy thinks the ground isn't that important 😂😂😂

      The most important factor of betting is the ground (obviously the horse needs 4 legs!).. if it can’t gallop on the ground it’s like riding a bike with a flat tire!

    Lots of professionals focus solely on NON handicaps, so what this guy says is wrong.

      El Astronaute this guys wins a lot of doe, some of what he says is nonsense like you've pointed out, totally agree with you about the each way value, punchestown starts today valuable racing with less corruption just what is needed. Some great prices available

    11:08 Bullshit a 9/4 winner at the betting shop whatever the price was in the morning is still ok.

    He is totally wrong about each-way bets as well. If this guy is anything to go by no wonder the public are so ignorant when it comes to profitable gambling. This guy really does not have a clue what he is talking about. '1/3rd the odds on a place on the exchanges' total nonsense, depends entirely on the race. The place markets go out at what's deemed the 'correct' price for that horse to place just like the win markets. Sometimes that means it'll be bigger than industry terms, but sometimes not. It depends entirely on the makeup of the race, number of runners, place terms, etc. For instance in a 16 runner handicap there is value to be had backing e/w with the bookies. Likewise often in an exactly 12 runner handicap there is often value. Also in an 8 runner race with a short priced favourite there is often extremely good value going each-way with bookies, you can find this out by working out the place terms you're getting and comparing to the trading price on the exchanges. You can OFTEN obtain 30-40% better terms or even more by going each-way. This is without place concessions that certain bookies often offer at certain meetings. This guy is simply not qualified to be giving anyone betting advice. I doubt he's made any long-term profit betting.

    Isn't a good bet a winning bet?

    • @elastronaute1198
      @elastronaute1198 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, that's a very short sighted thing to say, and that mentality is actually why most punters lose. Looking for 'winners' with no concept of value. It's actually the opposite, a good bet is a bet that represents value, regardless of whether it wins or loses.

      @@elastronaute1198 I'd rather have a 2/1 winner than a 10/1 loser..... A bet's only good if it stands a good chance of winning at resonable odds

    • @elastronaute1198

      @@mattgardiner8854 and what exactly did I say that goes against your comment? I said a good bet is a good value bet, whether it wins or loses. An 8/11 can be good value, as can a 20/1. It's all relative, providing the selection has a higher probability of winning than the odds you take, you've had good value. Think of a poker game, you could be holding two kings, with a king on the flop, your opponent has two aces Now you're heavy, heavy favourite to win, but nothing can stop an ace coming on the turn or river, that is just a run out. You lose, despite the fact you had by far the highest probability of winning. It's the same with horses. The right bet isn't always the winning bet.
