Been betting over 10years, last few years this strategy has worked. Use the tote.
Bet €5 per race. And split it between win/place markets. Not do each way.
    Example: €1 win €4 place, €2 win €3 place.
You should always keep these markets separate, for example you always here lads say "back it each way get your stake back at 4/1 or whatever" this is a proper mug punter stance, if you think it's going to place put more on the place and less on the win, that way you will generally make money from each bet rather than recouping win stake only....
Example I backed a horse in national on the tote, it was 33/1 with bookies 28/1 with tote (sp). But the place money return 11.04 per €1 (only paid 3 places)
And I split it €1 win (hopeful of winning the €26) and €4 on place which resulted in a €44.16 return.
Compare that to doing €5ew... It's a no brainer.
If you think something is going to win, then you are obviously more sure it will place, so have more on the place

There aren't too many videos on staking strategy so I appreciate this honest take on a tough sport. From what I hear 3% make a living betting ponies while 10% break even. I agree with betting a little over a lot of races. I once bet 30 tracks and played the 4 with 1 exacta every race ($600) for my 2 dollar bets and hit exactas of $1410, $963, $458 etc. and got back $3128.

Lovely Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about - Chiveard Betting Information Framework (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great one off guide for getting an automated horse racing betting system without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my old buddy Taylor at very last got amazing success with it.
