I love the Tonex One pedal too! But I've had an issue since day one and I have the same exact problem with 5 of them now!!! So it must be the pedal itself yet it just can't be right and makes no sense. I can't turn the volume or gain down on any amp presets or stomp presets less than half way up. I've never owned a pedal where 50% of the volume or gain parameter was unusable and when I had the big version never had that problem. Such a waste and I've looked all over online and have yet to to find one mention of this from any other users. wtf????
What I don't understand tho is why do you need the Midi Chief app if you have CubeSuite? I control my Tonex pedal(big one) with M vave Chocolate, only with Cubesuite. You do have to have it connected with an android phone if you want a physical cable connection(as on my iPhone CubeSuite version, I don't have the option to select the cable connection), and have to make sure that the midi cable is type A, and that it's also 1/4 inch trs on one end and 5 pin midi on the other...) @@barlevy13 yup! They locked out midi control of the little guy, probably to keep that more for the big guy. Once delays and other effects are added in the November update, this will be pretty killer.
Not sure I follow... is the phone only used as a BT receiver once you are finished with the configuration via the apps? Couldn't you just ditch the phone and get a usb BT receiver?
@@rosahelikopter3075 well the phone allows midi chief to access the midi control in the T1, which is locked out by IK. The Chocolate is just acting as the Bt switch to the phone. You can’t USB into the T1 and get midi control without software……yet. 🤞🏻
@@DoubleDguitar ok, thanks. dammit ik likes to make things complicated.
@ yeah, I think they want us to get the big boy if we want those features, which I caved and did lol.
A question: need the cell all time ON?
@@uhjoao3546 yeah, unfortunately. I have the screen brightness down all the way and it draws less juice if you plug the tonex one into a psu instead of relying on the phone to power it up.
Hey there, I don’t get it running. I have a Ampero Control midi pedal, must be the same kind as the Mvave. I can switch the sounds on the TONEX One with the phone, but I can’t get the Ampero control to do anything. I tried different values, no luck. I’m a midi idiot, but if there is someone who can help me how to do that, would be great. I did already 20 slots on the midi chief app for the TO, and the Ampero Control is connected via Bluetooth. Thanks for suggestions
@@pittrapp does the ampero connect via Bluetooth? When you add a device, and select it as input, is it seeing the Ampero? Try the BLE and Bluetooth options to see if it populates. Then make sure to hit apply. I have had the best luck with turning on my bt switch first, being on the Home Screen, no apps running and plugging in the one.
@@DoubleDguitarwow, I got the first 4 sounds running, they change color , yessssss. But why it’s on bank 003 on the Ampero ….dont know. If I go down to bank 000 or 001, nothing happens. But tomorrow I’ll try again. Never understood those midi things and avoided them. But I won the Ampero Control a few years ago, and never tried it. So, now’s the time.
Thanks for helping, cheers
@@DoubleDguitargot it made, all 20 presets available. After trying and trying I realized how it has to be done. Great vid, thank you, this was a big help.
@@pittrapp oh heck yeah man!!! That is so awesome!! I’m glad you got it rolling along. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
is it better to buy the chocolate or plus one
@@obicross if you think you may want to use it for more than just get, grab the plus. It has more midi functionality.
@DoubleDguitar i probably just going to use it with tonex one and maybe atomic amplifire. For changing presets. Is the ease of use the same between both? Just want something easy and seamless as i dont have a pc right now (borrowing someone's laptop now and then to edit my tone models 😅) thanks for all the tutorials btw 🙏🙏

Now I’m wondering if “MIDI Wrench” will do this same job on iOS…
@@buzzcrumhunger7114 hmmmm gonna have to look into that!
Exactly what I was just wondering…
Question, can all this be done with the mvave app?
you can use Cubesuite to set up the footswitch, but will bee Midi Chief, or something similar to communicate from the Chocolate to the One.
Could this work with an IK Blueboard?
@@symbyo6 I think so, but I am not positive. The Midi Chief app should see most BLE items. The app developer left a comment below. Maybe ask him in his comment thread and be sure to reply to him so he sees it.
I also own a Blueboard, so that would be fantastic - especially if an iOS app also works (like Midi Wrench).
@@scottbecker3485 a buddy mentioned Midi Wrench, let me know if you get this going. I will def look into it.
? What is the usb hooked up to? Is must also be interfacing from the phone...?
@@stephenpertesis7710 sorry for not being clear there. The USB is going directly to the ToneX. The Chocolate is blue toothed to the phone.

@@javierthewish unfortunately, no.
Will this work to toggle on off the new mods and delay available?
@@vitorpavanmusica so far, not yet. My workaround is to have similar wet and then dry patches next to each other.
@DoubleDguitar cool solution, lets hope for an app update with these functions available!! Greetings from Brasil! Great content
@ thanks man!! Greetings and fingers crossed!! 🤞🏻🤘🏻
Is there a way to do this with iPhone or iPad ?
@@SteveReid-c3r possibly, but I haven’t tried any programs yet. I believe it can be done with a midi control/interface app.
What android phone did you buy?
@@butchbantog7423 it’s just a Moto G play. Like 50 bucks.
Would it be possible to use an android tablet instead of a phone? There's always one on my mic stand to run Mixing Station.
@@leehanson1416 definitely, anything running Android should work. Lmk if you get it going. And the developer has a comment thread below and I’m sure can help you out, if need.
Cube Suite not dnlg for me. I go there and select for android and it starts but kicks out before getting to play store. What am i doing wrong? Midi Chef, no prob.
@@earsonfire861 hmm weird. Not sure, I just used the site and downloaded right from there. I don’t remember being taken to the store.
Midi Chef/ phone sees foot ctrl and setup is per your vid. Does Cube Suite have to be on phone with Midi Chef or is Cube Suite just to setup the Chocolate? USB to Tonex works ok by tapping pedals in app but no responce from Chocolate.
@ I have found sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t. I generally open it first and then plug in the T1 to start MC. Glad you got the CS app going.
DD....FYI....I finally got Cube Suite installed on my Android ph. The prob was a security issue with the APK file & Chrome. I was able to get CS downloaded via FireFox browser. Still, i had to force install bc of the security status of the apk file. So, in case someone else is struggling, there you go. I now have full ctrl of CS, Chocolate, and Midi Chief from the phone. Thanks so much for the video and support. NOW, onto the advanced setup of 2 chnl stuff. Almost there! 8 options with 4 buttons will be more than enough presets on the fly for what i need😅
@@earsonfire861 right on and nice!! I agree, I usually don;t need much more than 3-4 presets for most. stuff.
Is there a delay when changing amplifiers?
@@rickard9294 not at all and no dropout from the audio.
1.1.4FW can use?
@@hannchung6091 probably!
I have an old Fire Tablet running Android 11 (the latest it would install). This tablet only has micro USB, not USB C. So I bought a micro USB to USB C cable (data capable), and MIDI Chief, but when I fire it up, MIDI Chief doesn't see my T1 at all. Any idea why and how to get it working?
@@steveliberty did you add a device? I am realizing I forgot to show the “add device” part of setup. Just the screen after. Add two devices, one input for the Chocolate and one output for the T1. Then match your screen settings to mine. Are you using a chocolate? Or just the app for control from the screen? If just the app, add the t1 only as the output and the app should need a reboot after you save settings. I like to start from the Home Screen, with the app closed and cleared. Then plug the cable in, it should then immediately recognize the T1 and that Midi Chief is looking for it. Try that. If that doesn’t work, the developer of the app has left a comment below and you could ask in his thread.
@@DoubleDguitar There’s the rub - when I add an output device, and set it to USB, the only device shown for selection is USB2.0-MIDI. The ToneX One doesn’t appear for me to select. BTW, so far, I haven’t bothered with an input device (the Chocolate) at all. I wanted to get it working from the tablet/MIDI Chief first, and then add the controller.
@@steveliberty I have noticed that I have to start from Home Screen with the app completely shut down and the usb not connected. Then plug the usb from the pedal into the phone and it will see it, make sure you save your setup and it will automatically close out. Also…Are you sure you are using a USB C date cable and not just a charging cable? I have had that issue slow me down before on other projects.
@@DoubleDguitar Thanks for your continued help. The cable I ordered is supposed to be a cable capable of data and charging. It was even called OTG in the Amazon ad. I tried what you said about starting with the app shut down, and then connecting the USB cable, but nothing happened. I am stumped.
@@steveliberty I tried an OTG cable and it didn’t work for me. Start with just a USB c cable, if you can.
I love the Tonex One pedal too! But I've had an issue since day one and I have the same exact problem with 5 of them now!!! So it must be the pedal itself yet it just can't be right and makes no sense. I can't turn the volume or gain down on any amp presets or stomp presets less than half way up. Not even a nudge or it starts sounding sizzly like it's not getting enough signal or something. I've never owned a pedal where 50% of the volume or gain parameter was unusable and when I had the big version never had that problem. Such a waste and I've looked all over online and have yet to to find one mention of this from any other users. wtf????
@@emach07 whoa weird! Hopefully someone can help you out. Have you checked out Jason Sadites channel?
try diffrent power supplies -some of my power supplys were noisy as but teh boss psa one makes it nearly silent -dude the pedal rocks
What I don't understand tho is why do you need the Midi Chief app if you have CubeSuite? I control my Tonex pedal(big one) with M vave Chocolate, only with Cubesuite. You do have to have it connected with an android phone if you want a physical cable connection(as on my iPhone CubeSuite version, I don't have the option to select the cable connection), and have to make sure that the midi cable is type A, and that it's also 1/4 inch trs on one end and 5 pin midi on the other...) It's gotta be too complicated to eventually make it simple hah😅😅😅
@@VukMirasevic I didn’t get it for a while, but apparently the one doesn’t have (currently) the midi capabilities without an app to intervene and send the commands past the usb input point. I was really close to getting the big guy, still may lol. That new update is going to be golden.
@@DoubleDguitar Ohhhh okay I completely overlooked the fact that the One doesn't have a midi in and it also can't receive midi via usb...my bad🥲
