Following the successful lockpicking, in the next episode we'll see Tom chauffeuring a pink Rolls Royce while repeating the line "yyyesss, m'laaadddy".
Stumbled across your channel while searching for 'Fire Alarms', then subscribed. Thoroughly enjoying it. I'm retired now (living in Thailand), but from 1983 through to 1998 I worked primarily with fire alarm systems. It was a fascinating job with regard to the places I visited and areas of well known buildings the general public never get to see, plus stacks of overtime. One of my most memorable times was working for Honeywell, from 1990-94, installing and commissioning the fire systems at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf. I had the pleasure of demonstrating and handing-over the whole thing to the district surveyor too. The smoke detectors at the top of the lift shafts made for some fun memories. Good job, Thomas! 😎
I am new in this fire alarm job, I am required to install a fire alarm from scratch in a particular hotel, can you please direct me to books or Videos that can help.
I noticed that you were testing each zone on its own. On those Fike panels, if you set zone '00' into test it will put all zones on test. May save you accidentally setting the fire alarm off properly in the future ;)
Interesting foray into British fire alarm maintenance. Interesting that you need a tool to remove those smokes. I like your philosophy on sounders, too. Back in the day here in the US (up until about the 1970's), each floor would only have one or two horns, but they would be super loud. If you were close enough, it would make you jump, but if you were too far, you'd only hear it as a loud hum.
Did the F.I.A alarm course a few years ago did parts 1 & 5 and found it very interesting, also did the B.A.F.E extinguisher course ... wow who'd have thought there was that much to where to put extinguishers, and how to test them and recharge them and everything in between. 10 on the course I was on 6 passed.
Could have just removed the 2 screws from the hasp, It was not fit the correct way, have a look back on the footage, looking forward to seeing Dave back
In my flat building the letting agents give contractors keys to the flats so if anyone is out they just go in anyway. Then again the entire building is one letting agent.
Greetings, I do the same work here in Pennsylvania, USA. We have Fike over here, but it is really more for the suppression market here and no conventional fire alarm like you've got there. Worked on some Cybercat and Cheetah systems. Always good to see another competent alarm troubleshooter.
You should always use a vacuum (or a 'Hoover' if you prefer) to clean the detectors. You won't blow dust in to the detectors labyrinth that way. Thanks for a great channel.
Used to be an alarm engineer, get a second hand kit on ebay just looked there's a few good ones for about 3-500 quid, no need to buy brand new especially if not your primary work. The solo heat detector batteries are very good still got an old school one about 15 years old that works fine and holds charge although you can be standing there a while waiting for it to heat but you mainly use the smokes anyway and the ones on there look much newer. Used to have a hairdryer in the bag just in case.
Just needed the Pearl and Dean Dah Dah Dah..... and the Vacuuming Oscar is yours :) Good to hear unashamed used of the adjective "pikey" - the key that will open any lock
Agree with plenty of sounders. When I was an alarm supplier I did a school and obviously much cheaper cabling/installation to have less sounders. Unfortunately the kiddywinkies cried when the alarm was tested so had to go back! More importantly if one fails you are more likely to have another nearby to maintain dB spec.
here in Ontario Canada, as long as the maintenance person has provided 24-hours notice, the landlord or his authorised contractor can enter the unit whether the tenant is home or not. The landlord would just simply give his contractor a key to the unit
And I thought I was the only sad case that watched the Lock Picking Lawyer...……….but he's saved me a load of time and money on locksmiths when tenants lock themselves out.
Get yourself a small buddy cylinder for scuba diving mate for the air. I have one in my van lasts about a year..then refill..I use it for blowing out parts in boilers.
you can remove the heads with just a terminal, there's a tab you just push in then twist the head and they come off... saves carrying an extra tool with you.
The idea behind the fire exit signage is because people panic in fire situations and don't tend to think straight, plus the running man and direction arrow are designed to quickly indicate the direction of the fire exit especially for none English speakers/readers. This was due to research done into previous fires.
In response to the need for a mini compressor, u should just buy the leaf blower for what ever battery tool platform u r currently using , i bought a dewalt one for blowing of my patio n have found so many using for from blowing wood chips into a pile after drilling out studs to blowing dust out of dirty area where I need to work n dozens more .... think its worth a try n they are very compact n fit into a small tool bag
also nice feature on the DIP switches on the decetors buuut pain for the builder becouse not sure what its set up for so ending up covering all if not sure when you can have 1 look and see "ahh that one for heat no need covering that one" but its normal good for 1 bad for other 1 ^^
Senco do some very small compressors. I've seen several installed inside Sustainer toolboxes for portability and protection when they're in the van. Might be worth looking into and putting into one of your Milwaukee connecting boxes. Alternatively, Bambi compressors are a little larger, but a lot, lot quieter, but with a price to match.
It's all real here ! I watch Bosnian bill fab..your right it's get the job done mentality love your work. Can I ask what mic your using ? Guessing its wireless ? Thanks looking forward to seeing the van. Great work.
Bravo, bravo, the final scene of the video was worth the wait. More compelling to watch than the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy... The world awaits the sequel, "Hoovering Pt. II" Staring Thomas Nagy.:)
If you want a portable air blower you should look into the Xpower or DataVac should do what you want. Only thing is they aren't cordless, but they do appear to be about (what I believe, they're not common in the US) to be the size of a kettle.
Had a jail by where I used to live and the smoke detectors in the ventilation system ducts there were so sensitive that they would go off if you put baby powder on to close to the ducting. It was crazy
You can buy a little thing thats like reusable compressed air, The O2 Hurricane i think its called, pricey but depends how much compressed air you go through
A lot of people slag off Twinflex Pro panels but I think they are pretty decent for the money they cost ,I've fitted loads of them without any problems.....👍
I've done the same thing with a combination lock to get into site early (and in turn leave early) which I too picked up from the lock picking lawyer! A working man's champion 😂
I totally agree with you about lower Sound Levels but more off the sounders. Some people don't understand that when there is a fire then the best thing to do is to remain calm but when you have sounders trying to make your eardrums implode, it actually causes more panic. Its a mind over matter thing. For example remember when you was a kid and your parents used to yell, You used to thing OMG now im in shit... Now if your parents spoke to you calmly for a bollocking then you wouldn't panic. Its the same with the alarm sounders. The louder they are, the more disorientated you become as the panic has already kicked in.
Hi Tom .. What training provider do you recommend/ use for the courses for fire / emergency lighting / extinguisher. It's a mine field of courses little confusing which would be most beneficial. Thanks
I like your channel Thomas. Keep it going. I just wonder. Here in the Netherlands we must have slow whoops as a sound for fire alarms and also in sync of them all. Cause the sound you have can be confused with burglar alarms and people don't know what to do or they stay still in there houses. Strange that regulation are so different per country. Also I we must have battery powered lighted signs like you put up as a sticker. The lighted signs must show the way where to go. You are doing battery lights and separate signs. Don't know if that's regulation. Like the show.
Love the Lockpicking Lawyer and love you too mate! :D
Following the successful lockpicking, in the next episode we'll see Tom chauffeuring a pink Rolls Royce while repeating the line "yyyesss, m'laaadddy".
oo i loved parker

Common sense is so rare it should be classified as a superpower
Neil petition to get it altered to uncommon sense

Quite the Milwaukee vacuum advert with the thunderous music! They should pay you for that masterpiece of work!
an Electrician hoovering? What has the world come too lol
Need one of those French Maid outfits with an Electricians Toolbelt. Feather duster in the left hand with pair of wire strippers in the right hand....
I saw an electrician Milwaukeeing. :)
I love range football club
That was cool! Nice that the sounder are in the detectors, at my work it’s a big red thing on the wall.
The end was the best. So much intensity and suspense on the hoovering. The music was great. Next time use the smoke and some running :-)
Where's Dave ?
Mark Fisher where is Dave ?
thought crossed my mind did he go
Dave's not here.
Dave has left the building
He was off sick before Xmas Tom said, but yeah odd that he’s not seen in the new year videos...

I loved the LPL shout-out :D
What happened to the girl you hired a while back ?
Probably ran away with Dave!
He sold her
HAHAHA
That is some intense hovering! 😂

No zone chart then?

Move over LockPickingLawyer, here comes the CarpetCleaningElectrician!!! LOL
Can't you put the hose into the exhaust port on the Milwaukee hoover? Should do as an ok stand in for compressed air!
11:08 I think it’s meant to be more sounders but less volume
Agree with plenty of sounders. When I was an alarm supplier I did a school and obviously much cheaper cabling/installation to have less sounders. Great video. Love your work man. I think Fike pronounced 'Fyke'. Just sayin...
Bloody Brilliant.

Nice one Tom,enjoyed your chat.👍
Love the videos Thomas class keep them coming 😀
Have you had to install a fire alarm repeater panel before?
Stop stealing all the bloody Screwfix pencils!
Michael Harper must be a new fashion accessory for sparkys! Lol
I find myself taking one each time I buy something there... Got then everywhere now!! But they are advertising so I guess we're OK!

Thomas, not sure if it is available in the UK but here in the states, but Dewalt has a cordless compressor on the 60v flex battery.
Excellent. Where did you take your hoover exams?
I bet that course sucked
Bet he passed with a clean sheet
Finally something i can refer to - the state of the back of your van :D
hi tom where did you for the fire alarm course?
also nice feature on the DIP switches on the decetors buuut pain for the builder becouse not sure what its set up for so ending up covering all if not sure when you can have 1 look and see "ahh that one for heat no need covering that one" but its normal good for 1 bad for other 1 ^^

Tom, just unscrew the hasp. The screws were exposed!
It's all real here ! I watch Bosnian bill fab..your right it's get the job done mentality love your work. Can I ask what mic your using ? Guessing its wireless ? Thanks looking forward to seeing the van. Great work.
Good job
where is DAve ?

Another awesome video. Can't wait to watch
Dewalt does a battery powered compressor very portable or their hoover has a blower function as well
Why would you smash back boxes out all day when you can do a few thruple of fire alarms services. Beats me.
We're is Dave
I love your videos Tom
The smoke sabre the same brand of the solo tool
Bosnian Bill would have that lock off just by breathing on it :) excellent vid mate.
Thanks for the video. I'm a timed served electrician, what course would u recommed I take for fire alarm installation??
Nicely decoded Thomas! Move over LockPickingLawyer, meet LockPickingSparky!!
I'm glad you watch the LockPickingLawyer!
Had a jail by where I used to live and the smoke detectors in the ventilation system ducts there were so sensitive that they would go off if you put baby powder on to close to the ducting. It was crazy
were can you buy the yellow signs?
The Renault traffic I'm using has the sliding door on the opposite side
7:44 get a Giottos GTAA1900 Rocket Air Blower from Amazon, surprisingly powerful and lasts years
We had problems with one of our engineers blowing detectors and he ended up putting moisture in them. Those cans are sold in pound shop
The LockPickingLawyer?? His channel is amazing! :D :D
You can buy a little thing thats like reusable compressed air, The O2 Hurricane i think its called, pricey but depends how much compressed air you go through
fire alarms are Fantastic
Get yourself a battery powered leaf blower for blowing the smoke heads out, had one for a year or so now saves me loads of time when testing.
A lot of people slag off Twinflex Pro panels but I think they are pretty decent for the money they cost ,I've fitted loads of them without any problems.....👍
Where's Dave gone
Its really quite easy to remove the head without that tool. You can see there is a bigger section just pop a small driver in and it easily screws off
I've done the same thing with a combination lock to get into site early (and in turn leave early) which I too picked up from the lock picking lawyer! A working man's champion 😂
loved the ending. Very dramatic :-D
I can recommend Poundland for compressed air duster cans - fraction of the price that I have found them elsewhere
Yeah but they are counterfeit and only filled with air.
Which is worst; a) Tenants not in and you bill for a return visit; or, b) Tenant paying and you don't turn up? ;-)

Hey Tom, have you ever installed hand driers?
Well I can honestly say the inside of your van looks like mine 😬 great vid as usual 👍
Technically it's vacuuming NOT Hoovering .. Hoover is a popular brand name of Vacuum Cleaners.. i'm off to do the Dysoning.
And he even makes sure the fibres of the carpets are brushed the correct direction! +1
good to see you learn from LPL. just get some pick sets for lever and pintumbler, and you can skip those trips to collect and return keys
Instead of compressed air would a garden spray bottle not work better for you
Hiya Mate, DeFault makes a flexvolt cordless compressor. Great vids. Keep it up.
Hi Tom ..
What training provider do you recommend/ use for the courses for fire / emergency lighting / extinguisher. It's a mine field of courses little confusing which would be most beneficial.
Thanks
Fire stickers should be at floor level.

5:44 this is gold
Kirk girodano said this too. How funny it is that people complain he is giving away secrets to public about his trade.
I like your channel Thomas. Keep it going. I just wonder. Here in the Netherlands we must have slow whoops as a sound for fire alarms and also in sync of them all. How can you avoid the 50 Hz flicker?
So how long did it take to open the lock? ;-)
"You wouldn't find me changing a boiler in my house"....I thought you kept your house warm by burning £50 notes in a log burner Mr Nagy lol. Good vid!
Where is part 2
well done!
GC (Locksmith, Stockport)
Hi mate who did you do your original course with?
if the emergency lights only stay on for 30 seconds wouldnt you just have to change the battery? maybe just a canadian thing
Thomas, Tell us all about your hoover! Specs, prices, techniques!
Great video as always.can you give the name/number of fire alarm course you did.👍
Will there be a video soon with the title big news where you tell us dave no longer works with you anymore
A spark Vacuuming up ??? Next Thomas will deliver a hassle free Brexit world peace and immortality for all.
