The Canterbury is not available in a midsize bible, and it is only available in KJV. The NKJV Sovereign is newly released and the KJV Sovereign was released about a year ago. There is now not only a cost effective bible for those who love drop caps, the Psalms in single column (Sovereign also includes Proverbs) while having everything else in double column, but a midsized option as well. The Sovereign has a 9.5 font (reads larger) while the Personal Size Canterbury has an 8.5 font (reads smaller), and the Full Size Canterbury has an 11pt font.
So not only did Thomas Nelson meet a need for those wanting a middle sized bible, but they also give you a beautiful layout with another translation option other than the KJV. All this for well below $100 for the Genuine Leather, and under $40 for the economy covers.
    Leathersoft KJV:
    amzn.to/3HBTpWZ
    Genuine Leather KJV:
    amzn.to/3xEPALZ
    NKJV Leathersoft:
    amzn.to/3QA5sbd
    Genuine Leather NKJV:
    amzn.to/3y8gNZe

I have the NJKV in leather like and love it. I would recommend the Sovereign line.

I don’t think anyone could have said it better. The Sovereign is a nice Bible at an affordable price.

The only thing I don’t like about the Thomas Nelson is the spine is to fancy, it would look better if it was cleaner.

I have both in KJV, the Canterbury in mid-size and the Gold Sovereign in personal size. Here's how I describe it:
The Schuyler Canterbury is the Cadillac.
The Gold Sovereign is the Buick.
You get a lot, but not all, the bells and whistles of the Cadillac but at a lower price.
But the ornamental drop caps on the Canterbury are so much more finely detailed than the Golden Sovereign.

Hey Tim, so how is the paper of the Sovereign NKJV compared to its leathersoft option? I got the black leathersoft and the paper feels cheap, very course and rough, not like the smooth paper they used on the leathersoft classic reference NKJV to compare apples to apples. I just would like to know what is the paper like in the genuine version so if I am to make a rebind I would use the one with better paper.

Seems the same to me, however, I have only seen the Leathersoft in the KJV.

@@anickelsworthbiblereviews so you think the genuine leather has the same paper as the leathersoft?

Is the NKJV Sovereign also edge lined?

Not too big, not too small, but too thick imo. Also, could have a better concordance. Still love it though!

Yeah, I mention it’s a little thick. That thicker paper makes a big difference.

The gutter and thickness keeps me away from getting a sovereign.

Haven't had any problem with the gutter. I've seen much much worse. In use it's no problem to me. But I always read mine on a desk surface. Maybe if I was reading it in bed it would be a problem. The thickness is okay. The paper is worth it. It's not as premium as the French indopaque But it's great in its own way. And honestly it feels like it's going to hold up more. You have to baby that premium stuff.
