This is a crankcase inducted 2 stroke hot bulb diesel-like engine. Thus, one combustion in every single rotation. It is the precursor and forerunner of the future Diesel engines constructed by Rudolf Diesel. Compared to real diesel engines, the compression is smaller, only 1:6. For the diesel engines, the compression is expected to be 1:16, or more.

Of corse most populare is diesel but also run on alkohol, gasoilne, plant oil etc.

Generally these hot bulb engines will run on anything, kerosene, diesel, vegetable oil, waste oil( like dirty old sump oil), I think even gasoline and various forms of alcohol..i

Mieszkałem w Ursusie od urodzenia na przeciwko fabryki za torami i też się w nim wychowałem. Do tych ciągników mam sentyment nie lada. W życiu miałem również okazję przejazdem widzieć URSUSA w pracy na polu w dalekich krajach. To było miłe doznanie :)
W sierpniu 2009 r. zwiedzałem przyzakładowe „Muzeum Historii Ursusa” i robiłem zdjęcia dwóm eksponatom: starszego Ursusa C-45 na kołach stalowych i młodszego C-451 na kołach ogumionych. Historia fabryki Ursus to niewątpliwie przepiękny kawałek naszej historii. Każdy były lub obecny właściciel Ursusa C-45, z którym rozmawiałem, miał ogromny sentyment do tej maszyny. Niejednokrotnie słyszałem, że pewien starszy pan ma Lanza czy C-45 z pokaźnym zbiorem części zamiennych, czego nie chce sprzedać za żadne pieniądze. Nie chce nawet o tym słyszeć. Starszy pan umiera, a jego syn sprząta podwórko czy stodołę i wywozi wszystko na złom. Dosłownie - raz spóźniłem się 1,5 roku - przedwojenny Lanz Bulldog trafił na złom. Mój znajomy z Bielska Białej spóźnił się o dwa tygodnie, choć zaraz pojechał na wskazany punkt skupu złomu ratować co się da, ale było już za późno.
Super! Miałem okazję jeździć takim Ursusem u znajomych na wsi pod Kruszwicą, jako 14 letni chłopak. To było w wakacje w 1974 roku. Pamiętam jak potrafił "odbić" przy zbyt małych obrotach. Wtedy wstecznym jechało się do przodu. Trzeba było znów obroty zredukować aż prawie zgasł, żeby odbił z powrotem. Żeby odpalić podgrzewało się taką "gruchę" z przodu, wyjmowało kierownicę (była na taki toporny zatrzask) , wkładało w otwór w kole zamachowym i szybkim obrotem odpalało się ten traktor. Trzeba było przy tym uważać żeby nie połamało palców :)
U kogo w jakiej wsi... mój dziadek miał takiego w latach 70.

Gratulacje, podziwiam Waszą pasję, a ten film powinien być puszczany w każdym technikum samochodowym, lepiej sprawdzi się pod względem dydaktycznym niż wywody profesorków jak działa silnik, bravo!!
Faktycznie, w powojennych podręcznikach rozdział o budowie silników zaczynał się od omówienia silnika Ursusa C-45, czyli dwusuwowego średnioprężnego silnika z gruszą żarową. Jak mawia mechanik z filmu: „Teoria bez praktyki jest ślepa, a praktyka bez teorii jest kulawa”.
Pięknie i treściwie opisane. Fantastyczna satysfakcja, to jest kawał historii naszej rolniczej mechanizacji po wojnie. Plany i podstawowe elementy konstrukcji były 'zdobyczne' z niemieckiej firmy Lanz, Mannheim. Ale zrobić z tego całą udaną serię w post-okupacyjnych warunkach zrujnowanej dawnej fabryki URSUS - to było dopiero mistrzostwo! Miał silnik 2suwowy, o niskim st.sprężania 7.5 i sprawności zaledwie 17%. Ale był prosty, bo bezzaworowy, no i chodził na paliwach najróżniejszych. Nawet na olejach roślinnych z pyłem węglowym! Aby się spalało;-) A podręczniki prof.Kanafojskiego to była encyklopedia inżynierska jeszcze w latach 70tych podczas moich studiów...

The advantage of Hot Bulb is they took ages to start 20 mins usually but could run for at least 12-24 hours straight!

I had several Ursus tractors in the 80s they were the same as Zetor and very good machines. I never knew Ursus did a single cyl tractor similar to the Field Marshall I have. Well done boys !!

Einglück gibt es keine Steuerelektronik alles Mechanisch das ist das beste was es gibt.
Stimmt. Aufgrund des recht simplen Aufbaus der Maschine ergibt sich auch eine lange Lebensdauer und Robustheit. Heutige Maschinen würden nicht mal halb so lange leben
Glühkopfmaschinen sind schon klasse aber leider nicht so robust wie man meint. Es sind Kriegsentwicklungen (der Motor sollte nicht wählerisch bei der Kraftstoffart sein) aber mechanisch langlebig ist er nicht wirklich. Man muss schon verdammt viel an aufwändiger Wartung durchführen um so ein Teil am Laufen zu halten.
@@tobiaswittenmeier1877 Kann schon sein bin bei alten Maschinen absolut kein Experte, aber im Bezug auf Autos z.b. fahren die Alten zum Teil (nicht alle aber viele) von früher immer noch als wären sie grade aus der Fabrik und das auch gerne mal mit über 300.000 Sachen auf der Uhr so lange hält Im Vergleich kein zur heutige Zeit hergestelltes Fahrzeug durch. Zumindest nicht ohne sehr viel Wartung, Austausch von diversen Bauteilen etc. Zudem man an alten rein Mechanischen Fahrzeugen auch selbst mal etwas machen kann, das bei den fahrenden Computern heute nicht mehr möglich ist.
@Sven Ich rede hier nur vom in diesem Video vorkommenden Glühkopfmotor. Der läuft ohne regelmäßige aufwändige Wartung nicht besonders lange. Sicher, man kann ihn am Laufen halten weil man nur Mechanik hat und Teile auch mit etwas Fachwissen selber herstellen kann und darüberhinaus die Präzission eines solchen Motors eher große Toleranzen hat. Aber er hat eben technisch bedingt einen großen Verschleiß. Zb hat der riesige Kolben (10 Liter Hubraum einzylinder(!) ) viel Spiel und nudelt deshalb die Laufbuchse schnell aus. Mit der Schmierung ist auch so ne Sache. Ich geb dir in sofern Recht als dass robuste alte echte(!) Dieselmotoren fast unkaputtbar sind.
@@tobiaswittenmeier1877 Ok, naja wollte ich nur mal erwähnt haben. Und nicht nur die alten Dieselmotoren von früher sind zum Teil Unkaputtbar auch einige Benziner halten ewig. So was ist heute leider nicht mehr denkbar.

Oj, dzisiaj jest bardzo trudno znaleźć „zapomniane” C-45. Jeszcze 20 lat temu można było za grosze lub przysłowiową flaszkę nabyć taki stary traktor. Dużo Lanz’ów i C-45 trafiło na złom. Wiele wywieziono do Niemiec, Holandii, Belgii, nieco mniej do Włoch. Od czasu do czasu pojawiają się ogłoszenia na portalach, aczkolwiek coraz rzadziej i szybko znikają. Hobbyści w Polsce (jak my) zainteresowali się tymi ciągnikami.

The Polish Ursus C-45(1), German Lanz Bulldogs and Argentinian Pampa are constructed identically. The British Marshall and Italian Landini tractors, also have pistons of similar size. We don’t know any other vehicles with such huge pistons.

immagain having this back when it was new and having to use it daily. wake up before dawn, start a fire under the thing, go inside and have some coffe, come out and have someone help you turn it over. then use it continusely and try not to let it cool down too much. must have been a heck of a life.
You know what you’re talking about. Indeed, our mechanic also told us pretty similar to tales from the old good times :-)
My grandpa told me they left them running 24/7 for a few months, at night they just kept running in the barn.

Jestem pełen szacunku, ja bez słuchawek nie odpalam c45, po tym jak mnie cały dzień bolała głowa. Miałem też raz przypadek zapłonu resztek paliwa w tłumiku i powiem że takiego wybuchu to jak żyje nie słyszałem.
Fiu fiu fiuuuu to to była niezła maszyna w takim razie😜
Przed latami 70-tymi traktorzyści w Polsce nie używali słuchawek. Z tego względu wielu z nich cierpiało na zaburzenia słuchu. Przy niewielkim obciążeniu nasz ciągnik nie jest zbyt głośny i nie używamy słuchawek. Faktycznie, przy nagromadzeniu się paliwa w gruszy żarowej może nastąpić eksplozja paliwa z wielkim hukiem. Może być to spowodowane nadmiernym pompowaniem paliwa przed startem, ewentualnie nieszczelnością zaworu pompy wtryskowej.

Pisze Pan o chorobie wibracyjnej, czyli o chorobie zawodowej osób narażonych na długotrwałe drgania mechaniczne. Objawy tej choroby mogą być różne, aczkolwiek długoletni traktorzyści skarżyli się nie tyle na kręgosłup, co bardziej na „opuszczenie żołądka” i związane z tym bóle. W ówczesnych PGR’ach, kierowcy takich ciągników i ich pomocnicy pracowali w systemie dwuzmianowym, po 12 godzin. Ciągły hałas i drgania powodowały ogromne zmęczenie pod koniec zmiany. Trudno sobie dzisiaj wyobrazić: kierowcy zasypiali za kierownicą, pomimo hałasu silnika. Naprawdę. Przyczyniał się do tego fotel na dużej sprężynie, który bujał zmęczonym traktorzystą.
Ciekawostka: W okresie powojennym, część wynagrodzenia w PGR’ach wypłacano wódką. Dosłownie. Niektórzy chowali taką zapłatę w warsztacie i wyciągali ją przed rozpoczęciem nocnej zmiany. Następnie krążyły legendy o nocnych rajdach traktorów z pługami: orano parami ciągników, gdzie kierowcy z pomocnikami współzawodniczyli między sobą, kto zaorze szybciej… kominy traktorów świeciły z czerwoności i były widoczne z daleka nocą…

In Germany, Lanz manufactured kits to eliminate the steering wheel starting feature. There was a large disc with serrations on the circumference that you could hold and turn to get the engine going (it bolted to the flywheel and blocked the hole where the steering wheel was formerly inserted). There was little possibility of injury. The steering wheel system absolutely is dangerous.
Yes, that’s correct. Both Heinrich Lanz AG and ZM Ursus offered a Bosch starter as an option with the battery. The starter was very advanced and complex for this period, because it was moving the flywheel in both directions interchangeably, clockwise and counter-clockwise, until the engine started. Unfortunately, genuine Bosch starters are very rare nowadays, and are expensive to buy. Luckily, amongst some old spare parts, we have found a broken starter that can be repaired. Please watch our future movies for further information on this.
P.S.: Many from ‘the iron curtain’ period would be surprised that ZM Ursus from a former Eastern Bloc country was importing advanced Bosch parts from West Germany in large quantities. They managed to import such large quantities despite all the limitation on trade exchange.
My last Bulldog had this optional starter, although it was not working. I never bothered determining the fault because I enjoyed hand starting the tractor.
newer versions had an electric starter which was used once and right once
