HEY GUYS! I hatedddd ending the video with an unsolved issue but I ran out of time. But I want to let you know I FIGURED IT OUT! The early jdm cars have a weird quark to them that I wasn’t aware of so an issue was being masked. I’ll explain it all in the next video 💪🏼
Jimmy! We (the boiz) in the comment section just want to thank you for always making banger videos right on our lunch time. You don’t know how much it means to us ❤️
JIMBO! Don't feel embarrassed, bro. You did a great tutorial on this jumper harness. Life happens and introduces hurtles you gotta jump over. Just because this happened, doesn't mean you messed up. Don't beat yourself up, man!
I was on rt 5 in Wallingford nearby Jimmy's shop yesterday and saw a purple m3 with gold wheels drive by and I think to myself, wow that looks like Tommy's F80. I guess it was him after all!
@Moist boys thanks So much to put me onto their channel !❤️❤️shout out to you Jimmy you’re the man love your channel to stay humble keep killing it.💙🤍🖤💙🤍🖤💙🤍🖤
Whatever you need to do to reach your goal, do it Jimmy. If that means selling your cars to get your dream supra, do it. Your loyal fans will support you. Fuxk the naysayers. Also, I miss Yung Tuck.
I’m about to cry. I’ve been so undetermined bc I can’t get my car running bc of wiring. But this helps and if I can learn how to probe my ecm I’ll b even more proud. Thank you sir
I want to attend Jimmy O school. He does a good job making it easy to grasp. I feel like I could build myself a harness after watching a few of these instructional videos.
What an awesome video for people trying to learn this stuff! The back feeding is probably because Nissan powers the relay 86 pins (relay coil power) with a constant 12v jumped off of the relay 30 pin. Currently re wiring a skyline and putting a link in it and changing the relay control to a switched 12v in my loom to remove back feeding issues. Hope this helps ✌️
Been having a real tough couple weeks like the hardest in my lifetime, but nothing makes me feel more at ease than a wholesome video with Jimmy and the boys 💜
You know what man, this is actually a perfect example for us... because, in the real world you usually run into some kind of issue that makes it take longer 😎. When the wifey asks how long I’m going to be working on stuff I allow for these in my estimations now. It only took me into my later 30’s to figure it out 😂 Good stuff broskis 👊
Worth mentioning that Analog i/o are from 0 to 5v, including anywhere in-between, a variable signal. Digital i/o is either on or off, no in-between. It's either 0v or 5v - on or off. Or if your ecu can handle 12v inputs, then obv 0/12v.
check the alternator wiring. if the diodes in the alternator are bad or if its wired wrong it can cause a draw try unplugging the alternator plug and or pull the hot wire off the alternator
Thanks for answering a shit ton of questions I have for wiring. Kinda wanna try this method before trying to rewire my 85 celica Supra. THANKS JIMMY!!! keep up the informational videos
im a carbon fiber bonder for a living, next time you use a syringe, when the glue is in there, before you insert the plunger, rest the plunger on the top, tip the syringe up and blow the glue to the plunger, and then insert the plunger. you want the air to be at the top for the syringe. trust me i do this 8-10 x a day
Hey Jimmy, I am compelled to thank you for this video as most automotive TH-camrs won't show you the problems and the solution afterwards ( except Rob van Damme, etc) to such a great lengths. I also had a ECU issues in which everyone would say "check the wiring..." So how can you check something if you don't see or know the possible issue?! Looking forward to the next vid to see what the issues was as it will give me and everyone one an idea of what to look out for. Thanks again!
nothing to be embarsed of Jimmy....U teaching the world .... am from egypt and am enjoying ur videos so much ... i even hit the like button in the 0:02 :D ....hope all the best for u and ur crew and ur youtube family .....Best wishes from Egypt Cairo ( Pyramids & Pharaohs Country )
Check the fuel pump oem ecu ground wire. The oem ecu supplies a ground to the fuel pump relay. If that wire is removed it can keep ignition on key off.
Ok, you legit made this make sense for me. Thank you Jimmy! Edit: you can thin that type of epoxy with mineral spirits. Small amount and stir like hell.
Perfect timing. I just picked up a full d16 vtec Civic Si swap that I want to boost and put in a much newer civic. So wiring is going to be custom. Almost exactly like what you are doing but I don't have the right chassis harness for the engine so the leads will just have to go out to the engine harness and not the ecu plug.
Please stack up some videos taking the cars + the boys on some “driving Connecticut roads” videos, I know you’re a drift guy but some of cars deserve a shred on the grippy winding stuff before the weather sucks
Hey jimmy thank you so much for explaining wiring ecus I’m training to become a bmw tec and I feel like all this you showed me will help me thanks jimmy 🙏
If you don’t use the switch power from the eccs relay correctly it will back feed and hold power. If you disconnect battery and then hook back up it shuts off the relay. You need to just make sure that the relay is actually powering somthing.
Don’t sell the r32 Jimmy , you won’t ever find one like it for a good price, keep it to the side and start working on it once you have enough parts ! Love the content !
Last video: "I already tried selling it to Tommy so DON'T put that in the comments" This video: "Tommy's coming down... if the price is right I'll let it go today...makes some money off of Tommy" 🤷 😂
I'm having the same issue with my Sr20det S14 Ausdm with a ems standalone. Ignition won't turn off, after its turned on. I hope you find it so i can try the same thing. I can't wait for the next video!
I just started trying to learn this stuff so I can try to make a career outta cars and let me say I love this kid of video from you I would love for you to do some how to tune videos
Easy....empty all of the epoxy tubes and hardenersinto a small zip lock bag, seal the bag and mix thoroughly, cut a small hole in a corner of the bag...squeeze......
Great video of how to decipher in and out signals and match them to a stand alone puter . Pin test the factory wire harness first tough before attempting this next time will save you the troubles your having , seen may factory wiring diagrams not exactly correct . Ford is the worst for a mid production change in the same week . On tuesday it works this way on friday nope wont fit .

Very informative, I like videos like this. When it’s time to upgrade my ECU I know where I will be getting it from.

I’m not gonna lie but professor oaks reminds me of my childhood days with blue clues!
"Don't solder the wires or the pins will fall out".... I wish you had told me that a year ago! Great result
Thanks for answering a shit ton of questions I have for wiring. Kinda wanna try this method before trying to rewire my 85 celica Supra. THANKS JIMMY!!! keep up the informational videos
It’s a good day when Jimmy uploads 🔥
So many wiring videos recently. Kinda happy, because this is a more attainable setup than robs f1 harness.
Heaven bless you @Jimmy Oakes. Thanks for sharing all these valuable information.

Ok, you legit made this make sense for me. Thank you Jimmy!
Edit: you can thin that type of epoxy with mineral spirits. Small amount and stir like hell.
I work in aerospace for the connector you want potting material, flows smooth dries solid.

8:32 "moving onto pin 37, which the E-🐦-U considers to be the TPS power output 5 volt input"
This will definitely be helpful in the future for my build, thanks bro.

Aux outputs generally ground the relay coil not power it

Might want to test connection before applying the epoxy!
This is good, this was very easy to understand for a crash course! Especially if you have a general knowledge of wiring. 🤙🤙
BAM! A few decade technology leap.
Oaks you the real MVP. Big respect dawg bless.
