As a Pathfinder 1e player who has been asked to GM for new people, this series has been very helpful to prepare up the adventure itself, to internalize nuances of 5e, and to get into the headspace of DM. Thank you very much for organizing these!
Session 0 is great to have a "no stakes" combat to introduce the combat mechanics/give people an opportunity to plan as a group for actual combat/introduce some of the starting enemies and what they can do (like the goblins with "hide"). So glad you pointed that out with the idea of a tavern fight.
I am going to be running this again and correctly this time with my three daughters to get them to lvl.5 in preparation for a bigger module. Thank you for making this so I can listen while I paint NPC models.

I am so happy to see the series on TH-cam. And yes the dndbeyond take over making lmop free is a great opportunity which was not available before. Great stuff for the session zero, what I like to do is mix session zero with play as well. So the I used the travel to ask the groups some questions like, what do you guys talk about during travel? Player 1, what would be something that impressed you about player 2? Player 3, what were some characteristics you liked about other pc's that made you decide that you like sticking around them? And so on.
Glad to see you on here doing this,but hard on you losing the option to do it where you wanted to....But,its really great tutorials fred and i thank you for it sir.
Cool, thanks. I just could not get people invested in Lighthall, with a better video & audio platform, no advertising, no lag, multiple share functions, students being able to join the Video live stream to practice a playthrough or ask questions in person. Oh well.
Sorry to hear about Lighthall! I couldn’t watch live and their website infrastructure is still lacking, especially for folks who want to cast the videos to a TV to view while they’re busy, I only managed to catch a few of them.

awesome tips. My players always meet the rock seeker brothers and Sildar in their backstory. In session zero we play 3-5 scenes from their backstory from their childhood up until where they are now. Plenty of ways to introduce the rest of characters in each other background story creating deeper connections. The Rockseeker Brothers can always bring goods, weapons and armory to their town or have helped them or a friend or family member. They love to share and do good. Plenty of wars and raids on towns in the region and the brothers protected the town, a part of town or a family they dealt business with. Sildar is known for his tales, songs, stories as an adventurer he has helped one of the players en is asking a favor from that player.

I’m a model builder and painter by original hobby. It’s my favorite thing to do. But building random PCs because of my DnD/ADHD is a close second.

Thanks. As a teacher it was far superior than anything TH-cam has. I can only deliver 1/3 of my class on TH-cam.

If you only have two people playing characters, then give them each a simple animal companion.
