My favorite line in this movie is when the judge is expecting The Ghostbusters to take care of the ghosts and Egon says "Why don't you tell them you don't believe in ghosts?"
The song On Our Own by Bobby Brown was the theme song to this movie and was number one on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart at the time and was number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks straight. Bobby Brown had a cameo in this movie. While they were being released he asked if they had a proton pack for his kid brother and Egon said it wasn’t a toy. The lyrics to the song were specific to the movie: “Too hot to handle, to cold to hold, they called the ghost busters and they’re in control, had em throwing a party for a bunch of children, when all the while, slime was under the building, so they packed up their group, got grip, came equipped, grabbed their proton packs off their backs and they split, found out about Vigo, the master of evil, try to battle my boys, that’s not legal, they’re in control.” Still one of my favorite songs when it comes on the radio. Since I was a projectionist at a movie theater in the nineties, I have a bunch of useless movie trivia always roaming around in my head.
I was born in ‘81 saw this in the theater. Good memories the ghostbusters 2 symbol everywhere the Bobby frown song on mtv and vh1. Some memories. Shortly after this movie came out it was creamed by, Batman 1989. I remember that summer, Ghostbusters 2, Young Einstein, Batman, Last Crusade, a lot of movies for 1989. Fun fact I was in the first grade and talking to this kid next to me about all the movies that I saw and the kid’s mom was like, you watch too much tv, do you ever read a book? As an adult I’d curse that lady out and ask where’s the boy’s father? Anyway that kid gave a note to the teacher saying I was talking too much about movies and today I would have asked if I was talking about porn? Movies, like theater, tv is art you 900 pound 900 year old Karen teachers so go get laid you single mom parents!
Love both "Ghostbusters" movies equally. "Ghostbusters" is my favorite Elmer Bernstein score and finally after 32 years we got the score release to Randy Edelman's "Ghostbusters II". The boy that insults the Ray and Winston at the kid's BDay party is the director's son, Jason(director of "Ghostbusters: AfterLife")and the little girl with the puppy(Egon's experiment) is his daughter Catherine Reitman.
I loved this one. It's such amazing sci-fi fantasy, its own world and rules, somehow making sense despite making stuff up on the spot. The writing was gold
I'm sure someone already said this in the comments, but the kid who says "My dad says you guys are full of crap" is the director's son and future director of Ghostbusters Afterlife (and co-writer/Producer of Frozen Empire)
Ghostbusters II is a highly underrated sequel and Natalie is really beautiful but we knew those two things already.😁 37:13 THIS!!! 3:30 Believe or not that's Jason Reitman, the director of Afterlife and writer of Frozen Empire...and...4:08 Jason's sister. 1) Ghostbusters 2) Ghostbusters II 3) Frozen Empire 4) Afterlife I I V 2016 movie.
My son wouldn't agree about the soundtrack. He had the cd and he listened to it all the time. He grew up on ghostbusters and watched the vhs tapes everyday. 95% of his room was ghostbusters (I'm not kidding) until the teenage mutant ninja turtles came out - then his "action figures" would help the ghostbusters fight crime & ghosts!
There was also a huge lawsuit going on with the original ghostbusters song because they stole the music from huey Lewis and news song - i want a new drug Could be why they didn't use it very much for the movie
Thanks! One of the best parts of Ghostbusters 2 was the 2 new theme songs by Bobby Brown and Run DMC. Since you'll didn't grow up in the 80s, that is probably the reason you'll are not feeling the new jack swing, which is a sub-genre of R&B related to Bobby Brown's song _On Your Own_ and the old school hip-hop related to Run DMC's song Ghostbusters (Rap). Bobby Brown's song _On Your Own_ was number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 3 weeks. Bobby Brown had another song named _We're Back,_ but I like _On Your Own_ a whole lot more. As a matter of fact, I like most of the songs from both movies, or at least the ones I can think of. Even though I like music of all kinds from different eras, I was born in 77 so that the music does it for me. But to each their own.
1989 was a great year for movie fans: Batman Ghostbusters 2 Lethal Weapon 2 Major League Dead Poets Society Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade Honey I Shrunk The Kids
It's a lot of fun with characters you love. Sometimes I just want to watch a film & be entertained & I think people of today have lost massive sight of that joy that you can have

Janeane and Wiston look different because of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon(1986-1992). And Jason Reitman, the director of Ghostbusters Afterlife, is the kid at the birthday party scene.
Peter MacNicol is hilarious. I loved him as Renfield in Dracula: Dead and Loving it. That's another good Leslie Nielsen movie, he plays Dracula. I recommend it for your summer of comedy if you can squeeze it in.
Favorite movie of all time. Vividly remember seeing this in theaters when I was 6 years old. My mom bought me gummy worms. Lol Now watch a few episodes of The Real Ghostbusters 👍
❤ The part with the walking Statue of Liberty trying to invoke positive love energy for New York City , makes me think of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from LION KING sometimes 😆😊 The guy Peter McNichol played reminds me of Renfro from DRACULA lore. Fun first watch ladies 💚🧡

A theme songs go I give props to The Muppet Show opening them, the western "The Gambler" and to "The Cowboy Way" with the song "Good guys don't always wear white" alongside this one.
Yeah Natalie, that coat she was wearing did indeed have the minks' heads still on it when they sprang to life screeching once she stepped in that puddle.. What terrified me as a child tho, was how it runs off down the sidewalk, screeching & snapping at unsuspecting ppl's ankles.. They said they were originally gonna use this coat idea in the first movie, but it got dropped on the cutting room floor for time. It was said they were gonna have it attack a runway model wearing it at a NY fashion show, which I feel woulda worked even better than it does here! Lol. Would you ladies agree? ❤✌🏻
The sequel did a surprisingly good job with timid backing and corporate insistence on dumbing down the story compared to the first one. But the difference was noticeable even to a little kid: The world seemed a _lot_ smaller and the stakes lower. Even people who haven't seen any Ghostbusters material have heard of Gozer, but probably not the case for Viggo. Given what an achievement the first movie was as lore, two was kind of a back-stab...however fun it is by itself.
"Your Honor, ladies and gentleman of the audience, I don't think it's fair to call my clients frauds. Sure, the blackout was a big problem for everybody. I was trapped in an elevator for two hours and I had to make the whole time. But I don't blame them. Because one time, I turned into a dog and they helped me. Thank you." "Very good, Louis. Short, but pointless." Fun Fact: Annie Potts' appearance significantly changed to conform to her animated counterpart in The Real Ghostbusters (1986). Casting Notes Fact: While the role of Vigo was played by Wilhelm von Homburg, all his lines were dubbed by Max von Sydow. Wilhelm left the premiere in anger when he found out. Family Affaire Fact: The kid who says the Ghostbusters are "full of crap" is played by Jason Reitman, son of director Ivan Reitman, and future Oscar-nominated director of Juno (2007), Up In The Air (2009), and Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). Reitman's daughter Catherine Reitman plays the girl with the puppy. Historical Fact: The pneumatic subway line that Ray (Dan Aykroyd) finds when they lower him below the street was based on a pneumatic line built in 1870 by Alfred Beach. It operated using compressed air and was built as a demonstration of a pneumatic transit system. The one-block-long tunnel was built prior to any other subways in the area, and without any City approval. The single station had frescoes, easy chairs, statues, and a goldfish pond. The line was shut down in 1873 due to lack of official and financial support. The tunnel entrance was sealed and the station was reclaimed for other uses. In 1912, when digging for the modern subway system, workers found the original tunnel, still in good condition, and the remains of the passenger car. The tunnel was removed to make way for the contemporary subway lines, and the car disappeared.
FOLE ain't afraid of no Ghosts! 👻 This movie and the reaction were spot on! Totally on board with the Vigo painting.. Think every 80's and 90's kid who watched this movie were scared stiff! Bet gifting someone a copy of that painting would be the ultimate "I don't like you" gesture.. lol
Michelle & Natalie are the Babes of Light! 😘~♥️🌹 ♥️🌹 Always enjoy you beautiful ladies laugh, smile and have fun. 😉~♥️♥️ Ghostbusters 2 was the second film I saw in the theaters as kid and still enjoy it to this day.
I would say it is not as good as the first one, but I enjoy the heck out of it. I've probably seen it the most of the whole series. It is also better than Frozen Kingdom for sure
The courtroom scene feels like the first film. The rest feels like the cartoon. I love the cartoon but it did some damage to the sequel by messing with the formula.
Michelle and Natalie your love is lifting me higher. 🫶🏽 Fun Fact: the kid at the birthday party insulting Ray and Winston was a young Jason Reitman, the son of the director Ivan Reitman and is the Director of Afterlife and writer for Frozen Empire. 👻🚫
Pretty sure that they weren't allowed to use the original song because of the lawsuit. Huey Lewis & The News sued Ray Parker Jr. because the melody was stolen from I Want a New Drug. They settled out of court in 1985 and I think that was one of the results. We did get On Our Own by Bobby Brown plus a cameo as he opened the door for them and said asked for a proton pack for his little brother. Run-DMC were allowed to use some elements of the original song in their Ghostbusters Rap for the movie.
GB2 is considered by alot still the better sequel amongst the franchise and 😂 the fact of the new films in the series most people have lighten up on it….not to say the newer ones are bad, but just in comparison…when the honey moon stage is over for the newer ones you look at the now 4 main films GB2 is still the nxt best to the first film…alot of that is mostly all the original cast is in it aswell as Vigo is a nice villain to stand nxt to Gozer….and on the music score i still listen to “Bobby Brown” to hot to handle, and Run D.M.C Ghostbusters song from this…it was just music of the time but they made shore to keep the og music in
Original Ghostbusters movie is a masterpiece almost perfect film, Ghostbusters 2 is still a great movie just couldn’t recapture the magic of the OG.. the genetics are strong with these sisters so classically beautiful ❤
@@matiasdimter619 They're movies. They're separate movies. You can talk canon and universe all you want, but A. It doesn't make them good B. It doesn't make them worthy C. the only thing that connects the originals to these new ones is characters from the other films that don't in any way, shape or form resemble those characters in those other movies. The two movies made in the 80's, CO-WRITTEN by Harold Ramis, are completely different in tone and style. Afterlife and Frozen are from an alternate, unfunny universe. Dude.
@@yournamehere6002 So if they are from an alternate universe, how do you explain Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore, Melnitz being there as Ghostbusters, in the same firehouse from the first 2 movies? The fact that you didn't like them doesn't magically make them belong to another universe. IMO I really liked Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
@@matiasdimter619 Um, I think you don't understand the difference between reality and movies. The first two movies were co-written by Harold Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman. A completely different creative team. Who cares what "characters" or actors reprise their roles? It doesn't make those other movies comparable. You not only can't distinguish between reality and fantasy, but you also can't distinguish between good movies and bad movies. Good luck with that.
I heard the pink ooze in the sewer was used in another movie. Have you ladies seen The antimated Jungle Book from 1967 or the remake in 2016? Maybe you could do a reaction of one or both sometime?
I was 15 when this came out, bobby brown was a big star at the time so did the main song and made a brief appearance (did you spot him). Not as good as the original but still a great watch and as you said, better than most films released today
Actually Frozen Empire is getting the hate this same movie got in 1989. Many people and I agree on the more you watch Frozen Empire the better it gets.
MUSIC is a really important bit for movies and TV series, but they probably didnt want to use the "original" music due to the COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT and rights issues with Huey Lewis ... two examples where "the music" is BAD and tears down the thing are: - LADYHAWKE ... a brilliant story and beatifully filmed with great actors ... but electronic music doesnt work with a medieval theme! - CRUSADE ... the "Babylon 5 spinoff series", where the original had really REALLY EPIC music by Christopher Franke
Underrated. Yeah, it has similar beats but there are so many things you can appreciate and have fun with. Plus, that kid who wasn't a fan of them is the director of Afterlife.
I am surprised that you didn't see this when Ghostbusters afterlife and frozen empire came out after your reaction to the first one. I enjoy the second one but it did remind me of the real Ghostbusters cartoons
Lious tally- "I got stuck in an elevator for 3 hours and had to make up the time. But I don't blame them because one time I turned into a dog and they helped me, thank you" Egon-" Very good Louis. short but pointless" "Dr vikemon, will you please tell the court why you and your co-defendants took it upon yourselves to dig a very big hole in the middle of first avenue" "Well there's so many holes in 1st avenue we really didn't think anybody would notice" 😂🤣
Critics tore this movie apart, as Siskel and Ebert were sitting in a packed movie theater, where only person laughed throughout the film. Even Bill Murray hated the movie as well, saying in am interview "that the special effects guys are the real stars of the show and not the actors." 32 years later, GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE was released, receiving praise from fans and critics.
So many people were in interesting small roles in this one. Brian Doyle-Murray as the psychiatrist who his brother Bill says "don't look at me" to, Ben Stein as one of the people in the Mayor's office, Cheech Marin as Cheech Marin as the dock supervisor? One of a few reasons why I think this movie is better than some think.
I have mixed feelings about GB2. I don't like Peter, and Winston has almost nothing to do, but Peter MacNicol is hysterical as Yanush 🤣🤣🤣 I think about so many of his lines so often. "Oh command me lord!" "Yes, I've heard all this before..." "Everything you are doing is bad, I want you to know this." He's the best part of 2, much like Rick Moranis in 1. Egon is also just as funny (RIP Harold Ramis), as are Louis and Janeane, but the ending is a bit silly and the walking Lady Liberty isn't as fun as Stay Puft...
The young man that was talking to them at the birthday party is the directors son and the director of the last 2 movies. When phoebe is watching her laptop and you see the woman running out of the building with the 2 kids - that was him with his mom and sister. Sadly dad died after the first afterlife movie and he worked with someone else for frozen. He also said the demon dogs were in the house most of his life. It's funny watching his interviews. He also has a small role in kindergarten cop. He's the boy making out with the girl during the fire scenes
As much as I want to like GB2, and I do for a lot of great moments and lines, I just can't fully say it was great then or now. It's an okay sequel, but unfortunately, studio interference ruined the original ideas in favor of making it overly kid friendly due to the success of "The Real Ghostbusters" cartoon series. The studios forced the creators to make it more like a living cartoon instead of a proper follow-up to the all-time classic first outing. Yes, there are some classic lines and great scenes in the movie, but on a whole, it was definitely inferior to the original. Since Cheech Marin had a funny little scene with the "Well, better late than never," I highly recommend the absolute classic Cheech and Chong film, "Up in Smoke". Comparing GB2 with the crap out in the last 10 years, it is most assuredly better in all ways since it was a practically filmed flick instead of nearly all CGI.

“You mean you never even had a Slinky?”
- “We had *part* of a Slinky, but I straightened it.”

Peter MacNicol knocked it out of the park on this one 😁😅

This movie and the reaction were spot on! Totally on board with the Vigo painting.. Think every 80's and 90's kid who watched this movie were scared stiff! Bet gifting someone a copy of that painting would be the ultimate "I don't like you" gesture.. lol
Heck no! 😎
Michelle & Natalie are the
Babes of Light! 😘~♥️🌹 ♥️🌹
Always enjoy you beautiful ladies laugh, smile and have fun. 😉~♥️♥️
Ghostbusters 2 was the second film I saw in the theaters as kid and still enjoy it to this day.
Thanks!
I would say it is not as good as the first one, but I enjoy the heck out of it. I've probably seen it the most of the whole series. It is also better than Frozen Kingdom for sure
Sigourney man you can get lost in those eyes 😍😍😍
Our 2 favourite ladies jamming the OST. Nice!
💃 ❤🥰
☺️🤩
The courtroom scene feels like the first film. The rest feels like the cartoon. I love the cartoon but it did some damage to the sequel by messing with the formula.
Michelle and Natalie your love is lifting me higher. 🫶🏽
Fun Fact: the kid at the birthday party insulting Ray and Winston was a young Jason Reitman, the son of the director Ivan Reitman and is the Director of Afterlife and writer for Frozen Empire. 👻🚫
☺️☺️🥰
Pretty sure that they weren't allowed to use the original song because of the lawsuit. Huey Lewis & The News sued Ray Parker Jr. because the melody was stolen from I Want a New Drug. They settled out of court in 1985 and I think that was one of the results. We did get On Our Own by Bobby Brown plus a cameo as he opened the door for them and said asked for a proton pack for his little brother. Run-DMC were allowed to use some elements of the original song in their Ghostbusters Rap for the movie.
I was wondering if there was an issue with it. Makes sense
GB2 is considered by alot still the better sequel amongst the franchise and 😂 the fact of the new films in the series most people have lighten up on it….not to say the newer ones are bad, but just in comparison…when the honey moon stage is over for the newer ones you look at the now 4 main films GB2 is still the nxt best to the first film…alot of that is mostly all the original cast is in it aswell as Vigo is a nice villain to stand nxt to Gozer….and on the music score i still listen to “Bobby Brown” to hot to handle, and Run D.M.C Ghostbusters song from this…it was just music of the time but they made shore to keep the og music in
Belle donne!
I don't know if Natalie got the lyrics wrong or just meant it as a joke, but it's "bustin' makes me feel good", not "ghostin' makes me feel good". :)
Think that was just a mistake haha
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment I wasn't sure. lol - I thought maybe ghosting does make her feel good. :)
I honestly always thought it was “ghostin makes me feel good” 😂😂
At 4:00 minutes in the flag behind you moves. Pretty sure just a coincidence but pretty cool it happened during this movie 🤣
Original Ghostbusters movie is a masterpiece almost perfect film, Ghostbusters 2 is still a great movie just couldn’t recapture the magic of the OG.. the genetics are strong with these sisters so classically beautiful ❤
Aww thank you!!
GHOSTBUSTERS II is a great sequel and the only real sequel
Dude, Afterlife and Frozen Empire are part of the GB universe like it or not.
Dude.
Yep!
The remake in 2016 is pretty good. Bill Murray was Voice of BALOO the Bear!!!!
😍🥰😍
I was 15 when this came out, bobby brown was a big star at the time so did the main song and made a brief appearance (did you spot him). Not as good as the original but still a great watch and as you said, better than most films released today
Love Ghostbusters 2! So underrated. Great reaction girls!
Agreed! Thank you!!😊
I still love this movie and would rather watch it then anything recently.
Great reaction to one of my favorite movies, you two got all the jokes that 90% of people miss. Well done!😃
Thank you!!
Actually Frozen Empire is getting the hate this same movie got in 1989. Many people and I agree on the more you watch Frozen Empire the better it gets.
Love that Ohio state mug OH IO ❤
I like the sequel, but the first one is way better.
MUSIC is a really important bit for movies and TV series, but they probably didnt want to use the "original" music due to the COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT and rights issues with Huey Lewis ... two examples where "the music" is BAD and tears down the thing are:
- LADYHAWKE ... a brilliant story and beatifully filmed with great actors ... but electronic music doesnt work with a medieval theme!
- CRUSADE ... the "Babylon 5 spinoff series", where the original had really REALLY EPIC music by Christopher Franke
The Ladyhawke theme song does work at least. Very heroic and adventurous.
4:45…voice of Lisa Simpson
Nah that wasn't Yeardley Smith.
Underrated. Yeah, it has similar beats but there are so many things you can appreciate and have fun with. Plus, that kid who wasn't a fan of them is the director of Afterlife.
Love Ghostbusters 2! It's a classic! I enjoyed the reaction! 😊
Thank you!!
You're welcome! 😊
I watched this on the big screen back in the day. I had hoped that Egon would have got to date Janine instead of Louis.
2 sexy beautiful women.
Great contribution, kid.
Bravo.
Good times!
You gurls are puuurty
I am surprised that you didn't see this when Ghostbusters afterlife and frozen empire came out after your reaction to the first one. I enjoy the second one but it did remind me of the real Ghostbusters cartoons
Have never seen the cartoon either
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment It's an awesome 80's cartoon series.
Didn't do great upon it's initial release, but today it's starting to get a cult following.
LOVE this flick! Great reaction girls 😀
Lious tally- "I got stuck in an elevator for 3 hours and had to make up the time. But I don't blame them because one time I turned into a dog and they helped me, thank you"
Egon-" Very good Louis. short but pointless"
"Dr vikemon, will you please tell the court why you and your co-defendants took it upon yourselves to dig a very big hole in the middle of first avenue"
"Well there's so many holes in 1st avenue we really didn't think anybody would notice" 😂🤣
Critics tore this movie apart, as Siskel and Ebert were sitting in a packed movie theater, where only person laughed throughout the film.
Even Bill Murray hated the movie as well, saying in am interview "that the special effects guys are the real stars of the show and not the actors."
32 years later, GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE was released, receiving praise from fans and critics.
I think this was my first time noticing that Philip Baker Hall is also in this movie.
I have mixed feelings about GB2. I don't like Peter, and Winston has almost nothing to do, but Peter MacNicol is hysterical as Yanush 🤣🤣🤣
I think about so many of his lines so often.
Spooky American flag in the background woooooo👻💀💀👻
You two are so gorgeous
Thank you!
Force Light. You gonna cover the New GhostBusters on your Channel? I know U did ur review but, what about a Reaction Video?
Well people don’t like reactions if you have seen it.
“Yo.”- Ziggy, 1989
Dana's boss the actor also played in THE ADAMS FAMILY 2 as a camp counselor
Oh wait, u asked for James Spader's best movie ? Bad Influence, with Rob Lowe?
Natalie is such a stunning woman
Thank you ☺️ ❤
Great 😊
Thanks 😊
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment not feeling well today 😭😭😭😭
The young man that was talking to them at the birthday party is the directors son and the director of the last 2 movies.
When phoebe is watching her laptop and you see the woman running out of the building with the 2 kids - that was him with his mom and sister. Sadly dad died after the first afterlife movie and he worked with someone else for frozen.
He also said the demon dogs were in the house most of his life. It's funny watching his interviews. He also has a small role in kindergarten cop. He's the boy making out with the girl during the fire scenes
Please continue with the mcu reactions 😭😭
This is one of the movies I make sure is in my collection hahahaha, love it
As much as I want to like GB2, and I do for a lot of great moments and lines, I just can't fully say it was great then or now.
