I REALLYYYYY want a full sit down video about the design and everything!!! I am loving the furniture and the colors in the kitchen.... would just love to see the vision for all the rooms!
You got wonderful pieces of furniture and did such a great job with the paneling. I really like the thistle wallpaper. I think you would get tired of the cows after a while even though it is cute. Thank you so much for sharing.
Just words from my experience of those ‘rough’ carpet textures you like- they are a nightmare to keep clean - they hold dust and eventually end up looking old and grubby too quickly Love the wallpapers - those highland cows I think are my fave
Love the cow and mallard wall paper! Side note, when cutting on a miter saw (scary saw) don’t cross your arms. I was rushing once and crossed my arms and dropped the saw into my hand, nearly lost my pinky! Just a helpful hint, it feels weird using your non dominant hand operating the trigger but it’s better than losing a finger or hand.
I originally started watching your content on instagram. I have to say, these long form videos are even more enjoyable because they showcase your sparkling personality. Btw, “I’m so much more useful when there is nobody to rely on,” will be my mantra in 2025. 😂
My friend had one of the rough looking carpets but I believe she said it was a devil to successfully vacuum. Not sure if you can separate the carpet samples and chuck some dust and dirt and see how it’s picked up. You may have to return them though so possibly not a good idea.
Loving this series- you work so well together and your low-level bickering only adds to the authenticity. I'm looking up at you from my house in Mumbles- it's clearly a well planned and meticulous renovation of a characterful and prominent dwelling in the Uplands community. The only downside is I now always have to take the long way around to get to town, just to drive past your house!
Millie, I was so proud of you when you grabbed the saw and went for it. I saw the boo-boo coming and didn't care. That's how you learn and you won't make that mistake again. But SO proud of you for just jumping in and going for it! Well done :)
I love that pink paper with the green paint color that Louis pointed out! I hope that ends up in the house somewhere. I’m team thistle too - and Super impressed Milly! You are growing your skillset heaps and bounds! Louis you’re doing a good job holding space for her to learn. Also in love with your furniture pieces!
"Im so much more useful when there's no one to rely on"...I feel like I learn the most when I'm left to figure it out myself....I feel that statement so much .... Great job Millie! Don't let his "critique" (aka judgement 😉) get you down. Everything can be fixed and learned from! Also- Louie is usually really helpful and willing to teach and very patient...great teamwork!
17.30 so funny, Milly so proud (and should be) with what she did but still gets cross with Louis when he (very nicely) explained the mistake and explained it perfectly. Absolute hats off to you 2. Even the way you threw the fence up it looks good for all the time it took. Keep up the great work and the great videos. Very jealous from a plumber that did the same thing Louis did with the drill but gave myself 6 stitch above the eye and had all the ppe on hard hat glasses and hi vis vest, don't understand how I got an injury.😂
I have used tongue and groove paneling in the past. Typically you would nail in the groove such that the tongue fits in well. That way you avoid all the necessity of having to finish the nail heads on the face of the panelling. Can’t wait to see your finished room !!
@@flatflo You're correct. You nail in through the tongue at an angle so that when the next piece goes up, the groove slides over and hides the nail. They were putting the paneling up the opposite way, though (grooved piece piece first and fitting the tongue into the groove), so that wouldn't have been possible.
@@susanskinner8855 You're not nailing straight through it, but in the angle where the tongue sticks out from the plank. You're nailing through the plank itself, but it's hidden.
When I first saw the Highland cows, my reaction was“seriously?“. But then, I thought about the colors you wanted to use with it and it seemed a good choice. Thistles next. Whatever you choose will be right. It’s your decision and your room! I do enjoy your videos so much! Thank you for all your hard work!😀❤
Loving that Panelling, you both did a great job, and Milly you are doing just fine on your own. As for the wallpaper, although the pattern looks well spaced out, its amazing how busy it looks once its up on the wall, especially those mallards and the cows (fallen fowl of that one myself). I would keep it clean and simple, and have 2 paint colours, but definitely not dark colours in such a small space.
Thistle all the way 😊. Good job Milly in giving it a go, I love Louie’s enthusiasm + always eager to see you succeed. Much ❤ from Auckland New Zealand 🇳🇿
I came across this channel last night It's my new favourite channel. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing Belgrave Villa in all it's restored glory.
1st - horses (fun and nice colors), 2nd - thistles (beautiful and timeless), 3rd - mallards (sweet & unexpected and I like the diagonal movement of the print with the rest of the lines in the room)....
You have to do a room in that horse wallpaper! It is absolutely gorgeous! I’m a huge fan and am super inspired by what you guys have done in this renovation! Keep powering on the end is in sight!
Checking for ghosts made me laugh out loud! Love watching your progress. You are doing such a beautiful job. These videos will be a fantastic keepsake for you both in years to come.
The actual project is fascinating but what makes your posts wonderful to watch are you two. The perfect mix of personalities which are different in some ways and yet well connected in others. Enjoy how real and relatable Milly is with comments and facial expressions. I'm in the states but if in GB would suggest to the BBC to offer a show to you on the "Life with Milly and Louis".
Aw Millie, I feel so much for you. My husband is the one who knows what he is doing and I'm always doing it my way while he tells me his way. We've lasted 44 years though so keep going.
Stumbled upon this renovation by accident and when I realised you were so close I did a drive by this morning. Impressive work so far both, looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Pob lwc! ❤
The thistle wallpaper is fine, but the cow wallpaper is divine! It is friendly and cheerful and not too busy. I can just imagine lying in bed having conversations with the cows. So fun! So you!!!
We have enjoyed the gifts! It is so exciting and the furniture pieces are AMAZING. The marble top side tables are impressive. You two are too cute! LOVE the battery operated caulk gun!!! 😂💚💪
I think the thistle wallpaper has the colors that go with the overall era of your house. Ultimately it's your decision. Really enjoy the progress you've made so far!😊
The mallard paper would be great in a study or sitting room. The full floral for the bath is lovely. I have a soft spot for highland cows so, that’s a favorite of mine. You guys are doing such amazing work! I can’t wait to see the next video!
17:04 you definitely hold that wood like kendel jenna holds a cucumber 😂😂😂 be careful 😂 new subscriber here! Been binge watching! Love your channel so far 🎉
Love the horses and flowers wallpaper ❤ would really like to see a video where you discuss the design plans for the whole house. Love the first few furniture pieces as well!
I think the one for the bathroom . Green floral would look nice in the bedroom. Nice and light. Would look nice with wood and take colors out of it for throw pillows. And some antique floral pots and jugs.❤
Seeing you guys making a dream into reality has truly inspired and encouraged me to manifest my own!!! I’ve been going through a rough patch and your videos have given me ambition and strength to not give up even if the going gets hard. Thank you guys for sharing your journey!! 💛
I enjoy your banter so much. I can't believe you can do so much on your own! Good job. I also enjoy watching something from Wales. My Grandmothers parents were from Glanmorgan. They immigrated to Utah in 1840. I hardly see anything online or on You Tube about the Welsh. I have been enjoying everything.
Milly got the skills. Lovely to see your confidence once you got into the flow! Definitely the floral wallpaper Louis held up against the wall at the end!
Team thistle too! The other choices may not stand the test of time. Or no wallpaper at all, just a light paint. Love the furniture and great Christmas gifts! I am impressed with both of you for taking on such an enormous project!!!! It's looking superb!
I understand you don't have a stop for the dropsaw, but just use the wall as your stop or just quickly make up a wooden right angle to clamp to your work bench.. then its measure once (well twice) and cut 300 times.... so, so, so much easier. oh and please use clamps when doing big cuts using the jigsaw. its sooo much easier and you have a lot more control Oh and I know its Wales... but the sun will still affect the vanish on your furniture so keep that in mind. Its a low killer 😔 I hope the comments help in some way. You two are doing a great job 🙂
I find this chanel very helpful. I'm getting renovation work and the amount of stress involved is crazy. You taught me everything will work out so I'm taking this in my strides now 😊
I watch a few You Tube renovation Channels , and you Guys certainly are Top Of The Charts for the music you play !!! Amazing to see this massive project taking shape
Great video and lots of additions. Hide the nails on t&g by placing them sso theybare hidden behind the next panel of wood. Wall paper is tough as it can look dowdy, groovy, dull, dated, cool so quickly. Avoid the cows. Thistles looked nice but a bit safe. Keep looking. Well done

"You didn't do it wrong, you just didn't see you could do it... better" 😅 I want this on a mug.
Love this. ❤
Oh my gosh, I repeated it to my hubby (who is an engineer) & said.... OH! that's so you 😂
Me too❤
This is an example of how healthy their relationship seems to be. So loving :)
That thistle wallpaper would be fantastic in that room!!!
My favorite too
I also love the Thistle wallpaper! And would tie in so well with the dark green for the bottom of the wall.
Agree!
I agree! It is so beautiful!
❤
"I'm so much more useful when there's no one to rely on!" I felt that SO much!!! 💜
So proud of Milly for using the scary one.
The wallpaper with the thistles is perfect! It is not to 'heavy' for that room and it corresponds with the style of a more stately home like yours.
Yes i agree, that's so pretty
Exactly-plus thistles as a motif come across as humble compared to roses or something more Victorian.
I LOVE the mallard wallpaper! I think it will play really well with the green paneling because there is just a hint of green in their little heads
Yes finally someone who likes the mallards!
@@HelenSampson-s3m I like the mallards too, but maybe for a bathroom? Thistle for the room for me.
The Mallard one waws by far my favorite (thistle was def second for me since she mentioned using it in another area)

Ooo ok we’ll do that!
Yesssss please🙏
I'd prefer to be surprised with every room.
would love to watch a q&a:)) @BelgraveVilla
Team thistle here! Loving the progress, its looking amazing already. Gorgeous furniture too, so nice to see someone else championing brown furniturec❤
I like the subtle, but classic, appearance of the thistle wallpaper for this room.
I love the tiny thistle wallpaper. I think it would look very nice in that room.
Thistle is by far the best!
The thistle wallpaper would be best for a bedroom with a softer pale colour underneath. Beige corded carpet is an excellent choice!
Love the thistle and the Highland cow wallpapers!! Horses are wonderful too!
Love the thistle paper. Perfect for that room!
Great paper. We have had that type of carpet. Traps dirt difficult to keep clean
I love the wallpaper with larger pink flowers with the vines around it… beautiful.
Gorgeous but I think for a larger room.
I LOVE the Thistle wallpaper!!!! Beautiful with any of the green paints. The furniture are beautiful. (The cow wallpaper is very cute.)
You got wonderful pieces of furniture and did such a great job with the paneling. I really like the thistle wallpaper. I think you would get tired of the cows after a while even though it is cute. Thank you so much for sharing.
Just words from my experience of those ‘rough’ carpet textures you like- they are a nightmare to keep clean - they hold dust and eventually end up looking old and grubby too quickly
Love the wallpapers - those highland cows I think are my fave
Totally agree. I’d go for a nice neat short cut twist type. Nothing that shows lines when vacuumed.
I agree about the carpet being harder to keep clean when it has more texture.
You obviously don't have a Henry!
My biggest complaint is that it unravels! It's like when you get a loose thread on a sweater and pull it - you end up with a giant run!
@@lynnfletcher6776 that’s exactly the vacuum I had - lived 500yds away from the factory that makes them.
"I'm on the fence" 😂😂 Milly's humour is top-notch
Definitely the Highland cows! I just found you guys and am so impressed by the different stages you are able to DIY!
I like the thistles or horses wall paper. You're both doing so well.
haha, the thistles were my 1st choice and the horses my 2nd, although I thought the horses would be better in a living room or study.
I like the thistle wallpaper, light and delicate without being too feminine. Good luck.😊
Coos or mallards. A young couple who love brown furniture! 😊
Old wooden furniture is so much better 👍
I 2nd the Mallard vote
Love the cow and mallard wall paper!
Side note, when cutting on a miter saw (scary saw) don’t cross your arms. I was rushing once and crossed my arms and dropped the saw into my hand, nearly lost my pinky!

Thats so true - this was my previous carpet and wad total nightmare on stairs the dust jist seems to get stuck in the grooves

love the thistle wall paper :)
Wahoo it's not just me who likes antique dark wood furniture! Looking forward to seeing your final wallpaper choices. 🙂
Millie, I was so proud of you when you grabbed the saw and went for it. I saw the boo-boo coming and didn't care. That's how you learn and you won't make that mistake again. But SO proud of you for just jumping in and going for it! Well done :)
I love the wallpaper samples you picked. Especially the horses and the thistle with the green paint. So gorgeous❤
Welp. Im hooked. You guys doing an amazing job! I cant wait to see your visions come true.
You guys have got good taste! I instantly subscribed !
Loving watching your house turn into a home. You two are adorable to watch, your interaction with each other is lovely to watch.
You’re relationship is entertaining and inspiring. The gifts from the parents are very thoughtful and supportive in your endeavors ❤️🙏🏻

I thought blind nailing was the other way around - nail at 45° into the tongue along the studs?
@ don’t think so as the ‘tongue’ is very thin/small and even a brad nail would damage it.
