I’m a 58 y/o disabled veteran who discovered your channel today. When I was your age I wanted to do what you two are doing. The woman I was married to at the time said “absolutely not.” Long story short, I am now watching the two of you living a dream I had and you are doing it perfectly. You have a fan for life. ❤
Oh. I'm a 54 year old widow ( daughter of the pictured couple). I wanted to do up an old place too. Living in Australia it's not easy as we are only a couple of hundred years of settlement. And in Western Australia it's less than 200 years. So I longed to live in Europe or the UK. So it didn't happen. But it's nice to see young people living the dream.
Yes! I’m 56 in USA. I love love older homes. I’ve always wanted to buy and restore one. Unfortunately things don’t always go as planned but it is a joy to watch someone else live out their dreams.
I think it's GREAT that two young people without kids are putting in the sacrifice and hard work to do something they seem to love and something so worthwhile! I live in the US and follow a channel of an older couple that have been doing restoration flips on old villas in Spain. The older homes and architecture in the US is so stark compared to Europe. And your garden! 😍 It's so rare here to find gardens and stone work like you have here. I mean REALLY rare. Restoring these homes 🏡 is also a service to the world! I've watched so many older homes here get bulldozed. 😖 Thank you for taking the time to share your journey 🙏
Bravo. I’m 37 and in my 4th house. I’ve always bought houses that need work and lived in them while upgrading them. Didn’t have a working toilet in the current house for little over a month. Worth it though. This house has been flipped and the value has gone up. But I’ve always upgraded to better neighborhoods. It’s exhausting but worth it. And rewarding to do the work yourself. No mortgage on my last 3 houses. Used the profit and savings and have been very frugal with diy.
@@mR-dc4oq thanks. Grants are a massive help. Furnace and water heater being replaced this month. It’s a 20k job and I only have to pay 1,200 due to my income.

Just found your channel and am really enjoying seeing you do up this house. It brings back memories, as back in the 80's, my parents bought an old Victorian house in the Cotswolds where i grew up. I spent so much time helping Dad out while he did the place up, we were told there was a basement that was boarded up, but never did find the door as the room it was supposed to be in was recently decorated so Dad didn't want to strip those walls back, what a shame!! We did find plenty of other things around the house, including a load of old pins under the floorboards of the biggest bedroom, we found out sisters who were seamstresses lived there in the 1800's. Outside while dad was digging to put a patio in, he found an old white sink buried and under it was a giant square slab of stone. It was so big and heavy we had to rig up a whole load of levers and get help from friends to heave it off, where underneath was a deep well. I look forward to seeing what else you find!
You should be very proud. Its nice to see older building restored instead of doing them up into flat’s ect. I am trying to buy my rented house now at 46 on my own and its such a struggle. You guys have done amazing. Loving the content, please keep it up ❤x
@@mollymalone2838 I sell houses for a living and I can categorically tell you that they definitely had help in order to cash buy a property. Even a £20k gift of a deposit can have a snowball effect. Although they’ll probably forget they had that help and believe it’s all down to saving money.

You are right. Projects are great. They are you. You get to put your fingerprint, your creativity and energy into something stand back and enjoy the fruits of your expression.

Absolutely no disappointment at all!!! You two should be so proud of yourselves! "You both really have your heads on straight"......something we say in America. All the very best to you both!!
I'll be interested in your previous projects, and i really appreciate to see "young" people like you being invested in renovating such a beautiful house
The only reason you don't see young people restoring is because they can't afford it. All we can do is look in horror as flippers and older people destroy beautiful houses due to poor taste and profit. I'm genuinely baffled that at 26 both had houses that were worth over 200,000 on average each. That's a lot of daddy and mummy's money that has allowed this.
What an amazing young couple. The thought that was put into the purchase, the renovations and the long term benefits of this property are carefully considered. Looking forward to seeing more from these young people and their beautiful home in the making.
Our daughter did exactly the same as you did! Seven bed, Victorian, owned by three business men who wanted it in the location as their children were coming here for Uni. It was a huge amount of money when first listed. Then over time it dropped and dropped as they had let it out for multiple occupancy to student. Much need to be done with it, they are still making improvements sixteen years later. But doing it to last the test of time using and sourcing original materials that fits the era it was built in. They sold both their properties for great prices as they invested in both of those also.
If you're facing a lot of negativity from people because you're "too young" to own a house or that you're "too privileged" then I'm really sorry. Two years ago (when I was the same age as you) I bought my first house with a partner, it cost just over £500k, I am an immigrant from a country known to be poor. My family literally lived off of foraging, first time I tasted bread I was 8 years old, we also spent some time homeless, as the youngest I only ever wore hand-me-downs - bought a new piece of clothing for the first time when I was 19 lol. But my single mother instilled in all of us a grand sense of "wanting more" and working to achieve it. I've saved every penny for the past 15 years. My social life suffered a little but I did it to be where I am now. I'm just under 30 but a home owner, have a relatively good job and I hussle like crazy (to make sure I get my 4 holidays a year :D). Only a few times in my life have I met people from worse backgrounds than me - every time they've developed as far or even further than me. It's led me to not think but KNOW that it IS possible, but you do genuinely have to put in hard work and focus. When someone has help from family etc and they're smart with how to best use that help I feel so happy for them. I wish I had been in the same position, everyone SHOULD be in the same position. Not something I'd ever complain about. All the best to both of you :)
I just binge watched all the episodes and am looking forward to more! You are a very nice couple and hard working with great editing skills and wit. Keep up the great work! God bless you and your efforts! 😊 🏡
Your comment in the description of this video says it all. “We are immensely privileged to be surrounded by supportive and encouraging family and friends and you really can't underestimate how much of a leg up that kind of thing is.” So many people feel isolated and alone in this modern world. That sort of support is certainly a leg, a hand and a ladder up.
Here’s the thing. The more limitations and restrictions, you have, the more difficult it will be to active your goals. Yes, if you have no money, no jobs, no income, no family help, no friends, no motivation and you spend every day in your life moping around and doing nothing, you will not achieve your goals. No duh. No one said you can do what they did with no money and no support from friends and family!

Thanks for sharing your renovation journey! As an American, I find it very interesting to see how some things are different from where I live. The plaster process has especially been interesting. I’m amazed that in your mid-20’s you both have already owned your own homes. It’s sadly become less and less common for younger people in the USA to be able to afford to buy a house!

Fabulous ! I thought you might be property developers, good for you! This is a fantastic property and I'm glad this house has you to preserve it and not chop it into a hmo! Looking forward to seeing it all come together.x
Thanks - well done both. Interested in previous properties. Thanks Sue 😊
Binged all your episodes from Massachusetts, USA! Love your content.
Yes, would definately love to see or hear more about what you've done to other homes and what put you on this path of doing renovations. Also, I'm sure more people are curious abou the two of you as well. Good luck in all you do and keep up the good work. Nice to see the younger generation that's not afraid of hard work and into preserving history.
I would love to see your past projects. It's great to hear that you have been working on homes in the area.
Yes, I would like to see your other projects that you’ve undertaken. I I really enjoy what you’re doing to the property thank you.
Yes, please. I would love to hear more about what you renovated in your 'stepping stone houses' to gain the experience to take on this huge restoration project. Found your channel by chance and have binge watched all platforms today. Thank you for sharing this portion your lives with strangers like me. ❤
Yes! Would like to see what you've done with your other houses.

I wish I’d been so savvy at your age, it’s a really impressive achievement especially when most young people are struggling to get on the ladder. Well done guys.

Hello from Michigan, USA. I just found your channel last week. I binge watched all your videos. I hope your channel really talks off. Thank you for sharing your journey. 🤎🧡💛
That was such an interesting chat! Thank you for answering that question for your followers. It adds context - the who, what, where, when and why of it all. I'm now more invested than ever in your project. Hearing more about your previous projects would be great!
Good luck guys! Can’t wait to see the finished article
Your previous renovations would be interesting to see. Obviously you have ample experience by now and your willingness to work is how you get well established. Good on you both. Best wishes.
Absolutely perfect!!! I would have done the same thing when I was young! To have a huge house as your continued project over years vrs many smaller projects, the large house is a very wise choice!! I love it 👏👏👏👏👏 you two work well together. Never stop being respectful of each other don't forget to laugh… you need laughter!! Do this and you will be good💖
You also do a wonderful job with the music that you play while you work! You are so kind to each other... good job all around
Love to watch your stories, you are a great couple doing a great job on the house. Would love to see more of your back story as another set of videos separate to the Wednesday renovation updates
this has been so helpful, I am going through this process right now in Germany, and this alleviates so much stress, love your optimistic attitude!
When I first saw your videos I was ready to be cynical, not like you and (secretly) be a bit jealous of the whole thing. But I love your approach, your level-headedness and the dedication and skill you've shown in all the work you've done to date. I'm hooked !
The older project content would be awesome. I’d like to see what gave you the courage to take on this big project 😁. And yes, you are a very courageous couple!
I would love to watch what you previously accomplished. You are both so wise and hard working. You’re both so inspiring to other young couples.
