Am I the only one totally obsessed with Angel's hand movements during the final phase of the fight? I'm so in love with it. It's so elegant and lovely. Like art or like she's dancing. I find myself mimicking her without realizing it, all throughout the day. 😊😍😉 And both Hari Hara boss fight themes, BADASS!!!!
Actually hari (vishnu) is black (dark blue like a "fresh raincloud)", and hara (shiva) is either white as sadashiva, or red in his rudra form. The portrayal of shiva as blue is just a few hundred ys old! Vishnu does has a white form, which is the sankarshana form (sankarshana is ananta, meaning endless - the ouroboros), which spawns the eleven rudras at the end of time, to destroy the architects creations! Ananta in his human form is always white like camphor! But Sankarshana (whose avataras are called ananta, shesha as well as sadashiva) is vishnus destructive aspect! It is said vishnu appears dark externally, but internally his heart is white, while shiva appears white, but he is dark inside! Otherwise the iconography is not bad.. Hari hara is not androgynous - shivas androgynous form is called ardhanareshvara, and vishnu has also a split form called vaikuntha-kamalaja. Then there is mohini, where he actually is androgynous in the term we understand. Hari hara is the combination of the 2 most masculine forces in the universe. Hari is male (purusha), and shiva too.. The small demigods and titans (asuras) are but the parts and parcels of the cosmic form of vishnu, who assumes the aspects of shiva, Keshava and brahma for the purpose of transformation, maintainance and creativity. Vishvakarma.. u know, the dude in the matrix. Neo would be vishnus kalki avatara! Still i enjoy to watch this!! I will play the other megami titles, but in case of digital devil i prefer being the endboss to the playable characters.. In this one its good to just watch the show, and watch em struggle!! Very satisfying!

Not literally, though, just thematically. Her own desire for vengeance and misanthropy holds her back from enlightenment.

Jenna, being androgynous, is a complete misunderstanding of the concept. Harihara, combines 2 different male characters in one. Neither hari nor hara are feminine. Ardha and Harihara both include a portion of shiva. But Ardhas left portion is parvati, and hariharas right portion is vishnu. Neither harihara, or shasta how some call HIM, has female attributes. Now on the GAME MYTHOLOGY, yes! Jenna is a broken individual with a grudge. Jenna is interesting though because she struggles, because despite being the antagonist, she is not truly evil. The reason she couldnt let go is also quite human.. The character [if you dont know mythology] is very interesting in this way. And i did enjoy watching this.. But since i like primordial gods like shiva and vishnu over the mere olympian demigods of fire and so on, i prefer NOT to play this game, but watch it and identify with the villain..But that is personal choice ;D However it is alsways vishnu who gives enlightenment - because krishna/vishnu is an allegory on consciousness. And in that way, hinduism simply is psychology. Ananta represent the ego, kama (the god cupid in india) the mind, fire the mouth, sun the eye, varuna the belly, indra the arms and hands, earth the legs... But for an androgynous character, they should have taken mohini, ardhanari, or vaikunthakamalaja. It breaks consistency. Now for example, krishna in megami series, is better portrayed.. It is true that krishna is against the demiurge yahweh. It is true that ananta will absorb everything and then renew the universe. Ananta simply means infinity. Krishna means consciousness. Yahweh is born of the collective UN-consciousness, and is a mere soul, whereas krishna is the source of the worldsoul vishnu.. Iconographically they turned him into peter pan in the game... That is certainly false.. But it bothers me less.. Game mythology matters only if it encapsulates the truth. If it is that inconsistent, then it ruins it for those who KNOW the mythology behind it. You gotta stay true to the concept.. Still i enjoy watching this. It is very interesting and telling me a lot about my own life...

Kaneko often does like to push the envelope on his demons with his fashion and mythological influences, but he does try to pay homage to and respect the mythology in question. I understand. Although Jenna isn't androgynous, she has both male and female sex organs. Agreed, although Jenna is rather evil in her callous hatred of others. But she definitely does have a reason for her disposition. I was familiar with Kama, but not the rest. It's actually fascinating. Thanks. I would say that that the old guard of Okada and Kaneko, and the new guys at Atlus do pay attention and try to give proper illumination to the mythologies they depict, but they don't always nail it.

I like the magician approach with the hat - the white hat looking like vishnus crown, and the dark hat having a moonlike indent representing shiva having the moon in his hair. The switching face thing is great too - ah really good idea! And i find this adding to mythology. I dont think he missed it - it doesnt diminish the expirience for me - it tickles me a bit.. Actually there are many western films where shiva is depicted as fully female.. That would be missing it.. Especially since shivas symbol is the phallus.. Or Spielberg portraying worshippers of kali as eating worms... Now that is missing the point.. xD I like the visual design alot of harihara.. This boss has my favorite design in all of Megaten, one of the best battle themes to match, and I think Jenna Angel is a great character. Shame the boss is such a massive pushover, even without doing the extra content.
Since the 'junkyard' of AT1 is a virtual world and Jenna is essentially an administrator she is very powerful. Its why her Avatar is able to assume such a large form. In the real world she is nowhere near as powerful but still possesses a higher Atma (ie. unique). If you apply the novel Quantum Devil Saga (though it has many differences), higher Atmas are 20x stronger than standard atmas.

Third, her battle power would not scale that way since she is not physically doing any of these things. Its hard to say how powerful she is in the computer system, but if you go by the few feats of the characters I would say she can threaten city blocks at most.
