Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 2 FINAL Boss Brahman [HARD]
First time playing through the game.
Sequel to Digital Devil Saga 1. After finishing DDS1, and enjoying it alot (beside high encounter rate) the story was actually good and motivated me to start DDS2.
Movie in progress.
When the stage changes between boss phases, it's not that Brahman is moving around you, it's that you and the universe are moving around Brahman.
well said it gives me goosebumps everytime.
@@gabriellelingatong9765 Same! Glad I am not the only who does.
Incredible design.
I just realized that Brahman has the spinning drum of Amala on his head...
not just there, there are a few on its right side
I think the drum is on each and every head.
I know old comment but DDS1 and 2 were set in a alternate timeline of Tokyo. It's how the Demi-Fiend came into their universe in dds1
@@CastorCaelestis??? No? It can't simultaneously be an Amala world and be ruled by Brahman
@@raikasha8152 It's been confirmed that it's an alternate timeline. Especially since Demifiend can visit it and the world of SMTV. Both timelines have uses of the Amala network.
Every SMT and its derivatives: Kill god
DDS 2 Avatar tuner: Negotiate with god
Well, that's more because Brahman *can* be negotiated with, unlike YHWH.
Which makes him a better God by default.
@@cheesepuffsthings in christianity god can be reasoned with to a degree
@@beanieboi7743 I mean, of course. Though the exact amount varies depending on whether you're talking about the Old or New Testament.
However in Gnosticism (from which SMT drags like two third of its Christian themes, with the other third being the Book of Enoch) the Christian God, the Demiurge Yaldabaoth, lacks this flexibility on a whole.
@@cheesepuffsthings yea thats true
Cuz you can't kill Brahman as you can see he's not really a god but more similar to the Axiom
Vishnu and Shiva: half-naked, dancing guys with unusual skin colors
Brahman: giant Robocop train/starship
I love how Brahman seemingly extends unto infinity.
Literally every Godly race creature is seemingly infinite in their realms
Tho certainly funny at first sight considering it looks like it just made it's neck extend really far to see the player characters.
@@V-Jes lmao
@Shambler tbf, the Ancient of days, much like Kagutsuchi, Brahman etc is a higher dimensional entity, so it's still technically "infinite"
@Majillion if you're interested in power scaling, you can get even regular demons to transcend infinity so meh.
But yeah you're right, it doesn't represent infinity design wise.
I love how each severe elemental attack comes from a different religion or mythology.
Trisagion, a holy prayer in Christianity.
Viyavaya, a Hindu term for aerial land.
Titanomachia, the battle between the Greek Gods and the Titans.
Narukami, the Japanese term for lightning or electricity.
And Nifilheim, a realm of endless frost in Norse Mythology.
Gotta love Atlus
The transitions between each phase are mesmerizing. It gives me such an odd (yet amazing) vibe. Like they are actually fighting a god-like entity.
Not sure if you know this but Brahman is just an aspect of Yhvh
@@JuwanBuchanan wrong. Brahman and YHVH are the same being: the absolute divine, mother-father god/ess that are beyond duality, sexes, time and espace. it's just a different name for the same being.
The similarities between Brahman and Kagutsuchi in concept cannot be overstated, either.
@@Mayhzon It extends to several of the godly entities in the franchise.
@@christianrosa1893 Not really, they're "just" very powerful aspects/avatars/faces of The Great Will/God/The Axiom, but they're not absolutes.
So Brahman is a gigantic pillar that existence itself is spinning around on a zed axis…interesting
Don’t you mean the Z-Axis?
The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed
Ups, sorry, wrong boss
i liked how the boss design was 🗿

@@celkou brahmomet
Bruh man
You ever punch god and he slaps you with an enlightenment?
Why is this so breathtaking?!!
Right? That wide angle shot when the fight starts, as well as the way it seemingly moves the universe around it in order to "change position". Brahman is incredible.
YOU ARE BREATHTAKING
An interesting depiction of Brahman, cool and strong yet subtle.
Excellent fight here and against Satan and Seth, great way to finish off the Digital devil duo games! :>
Don't know how they came up with Brahman and the save cylinders from Nocturne. It was rather disappointing for the last Boss.
It's not the end of the SMT series tho.
I dunno how they came up with the design as a whole either, a warship or a pillar holding up the world or the 'lotus-like thing in the chamber maybe? I like the save cylinders in it, but they do seem kind of out of place.. They apparently sold a Special edition of SMT3 with a replica of the cylinders that was an incense burner to with some incense to symbolize stuff from the game or chakra's or something like that, maybe that connects them a bit more or something?
Yee I know, next is the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha series on your agenda right? :>
I don't know, found some perspective on GameFAQs that it's related to Nocturne. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/924460-shin-megami-tensei-digital-devil-saga-2/59920474
And yeah you're right.
@@eerieshimmy2103 They aren't related to Nocturne at all.
I know this comment is dead but incase someone reads it in future:
This design would be the best depiction of "**Brahman**" in fiction. Keep in mind not Brahma, **Brahman**. Brahman is the omnipotent omnipresent existence of universe he isn't a tangible existence nor a supernatural being what exists is Brahman what will end is Brahman.
Now there can be a tangible form of Brahman: "Saguna brahman" which means Brahman with features. And yes even Saguna brahman is not the same as Brahma.
I like how Trisagion became a skill you can use in SMT4/A
Late reply but Trisagion and the rest of the severe elemental attacks are in DDS2 as well.
Now I want Xanadu to be a SMT/Persona skill
@@JoeyLamontagneIt kinda did, in the form of overhauled Mahamaon as well as Makougaon
@@ye9945They were in DDS 1 too, but only as combo casts
Featuring Brahman from the Hindu mythology
Thematically cool with baller music, but unfortunately an easy boss, even on Hard. Assuming you beat the optional bosses beforehand, that is.
Just beat the game last night. Did none of the optional bosses and on hard mode with levels in the 60's this guy was still easy
@@sayakamikireal Maybe he should have TRAINED before you showed up.
He wanted you to defeat Him
I can say from experience if you go in under level 60, this fight can mess you up.
Brahman looks like a train
Edit: Brahman makes me wonder what a bunch of trains from Thomas the tank engine would look like fused together in an ungodly amalgamation
Some people worship a giant flying train with 5 faces i guess
Nope, there is only one Brahma temple exist in India
Nobody worship him
@@royalkumar795this is brahman not brahma
@@samuelaguilar1537no, it's how they portrayed him.
Brahman is not any living being, it's a realme called ultimate reality (in english)
Brahma is different
Just such a uniquely designed boss. Seriously, how many games can say that they had an infinite face train as a final boss?
Final bosses in other games just look so generic in comparison to what came out of this series during its golden era.
Even the final bosses of modern SMT games feel boring in comparison to infinite face train and disco ball moon. That is not to say the games are bad (well, Apocalypse is), but there is nothing as visually interesting (when it comes to final bosses) in SMTIV, Apocalypse and V. Strange Journey had some strange trippy stuff such as Pillar Zelenin and Mem Aleph feels like a nightmare version of Dark Souls' Gwynevere, but that's still a tad basic in comparison.
The one exception here is Devil Survivor 2, every Septentrione boss was a sight to behold in that game.
@@docbuni Seriously, Doi just can't hold a candle to Kaneko. He is just so generic and bland in comparison. And the less said about the IV guest artists the better.
@@matteste eh, imo there's a lot of Doi's designs that surpass Kaneko's, such as Odin the cardinal angels. Some of his originals like Chironup are pretty good too.
@@funninoriginal6054 "such as Odin"
...aaaand there you lost all credibility.
That is basically just an Ultraman design with some Odin elements haphazardly slapped on.
@@matteste
You say that like og Odin wasn't just an almost naked purple guy with an helmet and a towel. At least Kmart Ultraman has the crow.
Reaching this moment for the first time was so intense experience for me as this was the very first rpg that I've ever beaten
SMT designs are fucking weird, man. Why am I watching The Infinite Train cast Mind Charge Megidolaon?
This is probably my fave final boss in any JRPG
This battle them is so freaking awesome!
now I need to play this game.
Still the most underrated game of all time
You know, it's kinda sad that Roland wasn't reincarnated. Or maybe he was, but you don't get to see him.
The guy did sacrifice himself to destroy Meganada after all (shame its Solar Data still gets in your way but).
It's like my one complaint with this game. I wish Roland got the same treatment as the others.
both games have the system of answering questions and affect the final dungeon, you can get 3 unique skills and also heat become your ally, if you fail one like I did then Rolland replaces heat
@@nightcoal3558 Even if you do this, you still don't get to see Roland in the ending at all. Heat is still reincarnated and appears in the ending.

Oh my gawd the music its so epic !!
Pretty wholesome ending will not lie
I love the music with this fight, but I'm sad how disappointing this fight was. Even on hard, it just seemed like a cakewalk to me.
5 turns... Atlus why?!
If he didnt have that, he would be piss easy
It also represents five elements, and the five total party members featured in the fight.
It's also a final boss, so . . .
Hey at least it's not Mot with Beast Eye.
Matador have 5 turns in SMT IV...Brahman is ok to give 5 turns, but give FIVE FUCKING TURNS...TO MATADOR...this is what i would call...the act of a unclean one.
The first time I saw Brahman I thought it would have some connection to Nocturne because of the Amala drums

Godly music
Shoutout to Brahman for being the one Megaten god willing to help you out after his legally required boss battle
You ever beat up the concept of reality?
I know the illusion here that you fight this... deity/god while floating in the air. but the Megidolaon and many other spells break the illusion. nice try, though.
Is it just me or am I hearing bits of music from Lucifer's Boss Battle music?
Arlyn Anderson that too, is an illusion

DDS 2's Final Boss theme is actually what got me into the SMT and it's subseries,Persona. It's a baller song. And that's the thing with SMT and Persona games. It's like Sonic syndrome:

So, do all the characters die? Never played the game. Just saw this on my recommend and watched it. Cool sound track!
Yes they all die and their solar data was sent up to the sun which is where this boss is located and obviously Seraph is just sera and serph( the MC) sharing a body
They're all dead at this point already.
They die while still on Earth, and after they die their Solar Data is sucked up by the Sun where it takes these forms of them.
After beating the final boss, proving Humanity worthy, God decides to not continue literally assimilating the Earth, and because of this game's very heavy Hindu/Buddhist themes, the characters are reincarnated in new bodies.
Even Sera (who is Serph and Sera's data fusing together) who reached enlightenment and ascended to Nirvana, did not have all their aspects ascend, which is why Serph and Sera too are reincarnated.

Great stuff, why is it called “Marevert”? That sounds DUMB
Because it has the Ma- prefix for multi-target skills
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 Yeah, but with names that are already unique, like Mabufu, Matera, or Mazan, it looks fine
With a basic, preexisting name like Revert, prefixing it with the shortened form of “big” or “great” in Sanskrit doesn't look as good. If the skill name is already an English word, I feel it would make more sense to call the party-wide variant something like “Revert All” or “Multi-Revert”
Why i am hearing Big Boss music?
Is dds 1 and dds 2 sequel of Smt nocturne
More like an unrelated concept that was dropped into an improved Nocturne game engine. I think that’s the charm, it’s SMT and yet, it isn’t. There’s Nocturne assets everywhere (from wall textures, to the demon enemies), but they aren’t the main attraction of these two games.
