The gearing odd on these, takes a bit of getting used to which gear you should be in, its either too high or too low. I had one new in 2012. Had problems with the car from day one though, not the engine, that was brilliant. Had to get rid, got an Abarth 500 instead.

3rd gear is sweet spot in town at 60 to 80 kmh and 5 on highway at 120 kmh

4th and 5th are taller than regular polo, if you have hills part keeping it in 3rd is best, on flat roads 4th and 5th dependong on speed you want, but mainly i target 1400 rpms

6.2 liters pr 100km on a 1.2tdi... My BMW with a 3.0 diesel uses the same. Bigger engines are better.

I had this same car new in 2012. It depends on how the person drives it. He may rev it high in every gear, altitude may be a factor. Mine was far more economical than this.

@@oddities-whatnot but i still feel like a larger engine will go easier and more effortlessly and then go just as cheap as the smaller engines. If you drive them normally tho. Its also nice to have a shit ton of HP and NM to do overtakes etc
