@@honeybrown6953 I'm not entirely sure where this started but they couldn't easily shower so they had towel baths "showers 1x a day or every other day with routine baths when they could in victorian england but as you could imagine it's hard to come by large tubs and clean water. Really enjoyed this! I also loved your little clarification at the end because I’ve noticed that people tend to forget the bad parts of the past and only seem to be idolising the richer lifestyles which of course only few people actually had! Fantastic video! :)
While I do agree, she is very independent, and it could have been difficult for her to fully thrive due to the male dominance in society. Though, with that being said, I believe that she would have been the kind of woman to create massive breakthroughs for females. :)
@laura it's not healthy to think like this, not everything was perfect back then and if you are a woman or a POC it's even worse. if you want to live or dress like that then do it, however acknowledge your privilege. if you want to be like a lot of people that likes history and decide to live their lifestyle following a historical era then do it however unfortunately for you, it's won't be the same since society, technology and fashion are more advanced now. remember romanticize the fashion or the lifestyle but not the morals.
This was so lovely and informative. It is a real treasure for those of us who really adore the era. It’s like watching it come to life in a very relatable way. That made it all the more special. Thank you! And I’d LOVE to see an evening routine of a Victorian lady if you put it out!! All the best for everything!
This was quite interesting to watch, well done on another excellent video Ruby :) However I'd also advise people to actually do research on the Victorian Era. As Ruby stated in her video this is a upper class womens morning routine. The Victorian Era tends to be quite glamourised, but there are also plenty of documentaries showing the horrific conditions inside workhouses that men, women and children were forced into if they were poor. The working class also lived quite hard lives, so for those who want the Victorian Era, it really was only nice if you were wealthy.
I can’t go one day without taking a shower imagine going weeks !!!! Or months, omg, then i guess you became clean after a week with your own sweat ?? I just can’t, but people seemed to enjoy the little things much MORE than what we do today in this _”perfect world”_

and now i cant stop imagining how stinky they all were under all those clothes
That’s why there were so many under layers, to absorb the sweat and protect the outer garments
Yep. Thats why when the british and other europeans like the Spanish colonized the Americas, the natives had to teach them how to bathe properly. The natives carried incense everywhere the colonizers went, and they thought that it was out of respect but it was because of the stench🤢
Britain has a very cold weather so i don't think they'd worry about sweat
@@honeybrown6953 I'm not entirely sure where this started but they couldn't easily shower so they had towel baths "showers 1x a day or every other day with routine baths when they could in victorian england but as you could imagine it's hard to come by large tubs and clean water. Showering, bathing, using soap and wash cloths, etc. would not be new to Europeans in the Americas at the time.
@@honeybrown6953 LMAO
I'd love to see the working class routine for comparison! You really made a good video there!
I love that we can see she studied so much about it for this video and put effort in educating us in the end too!
I would love to see more of this cause the aesthetic is beautiful!
Your mom is so sweet for doing this with you! It looks like it was a nice day for the two of you. Very good video!
Your mom is so cute, I love the idea of her like "you want me to be a ladies maid?" "On it"😁
Just an advice: when you comb your hair grab your hair from the half so you wouldn't pull your hair out of the roots... be careful
I know i’m going to love this video!
Really enjoyed this! I also loved your little clarification at the end because I’ve noticed that people tend to forget the bad parts of the past and only seem to be idolising the richer lifestyles which of course only few people actually had! Fantastic video! :)
Ok but not only was this video amazing in itself but the message at the end about how everything wasn't tea parties and fun?? Incredible
My mom would definitely make fun of me if I asked her to be my lady's maid hahaha
I would love to see the Victorian evening routine and working class routine. Loved this video!
This girl was born in the wrong time period, she would've thrived in this era
While I do agree, she is very independent, and it could have been difficult for her to fully thrive due to the male dominance in society. Though, with that being said, I believe that she would have been the kind of woman to create massive breakthroughs for females. :)
well if she would have like to die of small pox or polio
No. She was born in the right time period. Doing this is a privilege and one women shouldn't forget. Being property isn't fun.
And the details that you showed us are very hard to grasp from just reading about them. It was so wonderful. My special compliments to your mum. She was such a good sport and so involved. That made it all the more special. Thank you! And I’d LOVE to see an evening routine of a Victorian lady if you put it out!! All the best for everything!
Do EVERYTHING as a Victorian!!! Its so calming to watch 🥰
An evening Victorian routine would be amazing 😁 as well as a working class one
Ruby: Tea was an essential part.
Me who hates tea: *You think I'd survive-*
This was quite interesting to watch, well done on another excellent video Ruby :)
However I'd also advise people to actually do research on the Victorian Era.
I'm lucky to see this video.
Even the small details in the video are lovely💕
The fact I watched this girl when she was on about 20k amazes me! You’ve come so far 🥺
I can’t go one day without taking a shower imagine going weeks !!!! Or months, omg, then i guess you became clean after a week with your own sweat ?? I just can’t, but people seemed to enjoy the little things much MORE than what we do today in this _”perfect world”_
Thank god someone said it. It was soo weird to me too.
People took what were called “sponge baths” as part of their daily routine. They had two basins full of hot water, a wash cloth, soap and towel.. They would wash face and hands first, rinse the cloth and then rincevoffface and hands
@@marylehrbaum4135 only face and hands, anyway... What about armpits and private parts???? It's disgusting not to wash them
The conveniences we have nowadays have become so mundane that people search for something different. In short, they're bored with their current lives.
@@daniewinnie they also washed them yes
