I downloaded the advanced-timer.lua script but it can't seem to link to a text source. When I use countdown.lua it works but the advanced timer doesn't. Any help is appreciated!
I'm having a problem with my advanced audio properties. After making a "countdown timer". I'm not able to see audio input go into OBS after countdown and video is over. I've checked the settings and I see my audio interface device Motu Ultralite mk3 but I only see a Balance L-R symbol for my "Music - Into song (countdown timer) Mic/Aux and others are not showing L-R sign. I hear everything from my headphone input sound from my Motu interface but it's not showing sound going through OBS. Can you help me please?

I need help! I've been using the Synthesia software since Spring on my 2016 model 16 gig RAM laptop, was running smooth with the 1080 HD screen size screen shot recording on OBS Studio . Last week I bought a computer (64gig Ram, Super 2070 RTX Graphix card) thats 20 times more powerful than my laptop with 4K specs BENQ monitor, but when I press play on Synthesia the title screen at the start is smooth 60 fps but the falling colored notes are a slightly clunky/jittery in & out of 30 to 60 fps. Its not the monitor or computer as its the only program not running as smooth as the 20 times less powerful 2016 model laptop... I see youtubers Synthesia 4K footage & I want the same smooth results, I may even have a more powerful system than theirs which is even more frustrating. The Synthesia website has no support & their forum has errors signing me on & no way to contact the administrator (CYRPTIC) I also tried their Video Creator which SURIOUSLY NEEDS updating as its a 2017 32 bit model, I've been using 64bit since 2016 for gods sake!!!! Their is no 64bit model. The Rendered files are also clunky on 4K. Any help would be much apreciated! Information & help on Synthesia is Cyrptic at best Any help would be much appreciated
This sounds like it could be a graphic card driver issue. Check your video drivers and make sure they are up to date. I don't have your computer and I don't have your software so this is a 100% guess. Best wishes.

Camtasia. It's a very fast way to edit video because it handles transitions visually which is how my brain thinks. Search my channel for "Camtasia" I made a video about it.

What's up Neal, no I use a program called Camtasia. It's a video editor that records a camera source and your computer screen at the same time. Then you go back in and apply all the screen motion. Currently OBS can not easily do what Camtasia does.
Good video, but it doesn’t work for me. My OBS version is 25.0.4. I followed the video. I end up with a red line. Resized it and nothing. I been trying for a week with no success.

Oh yea this is the video were I look like I just walked out of a freakin spray tan store. This was done on a Mac with ScreenFlow8. ScreenFlow is hands down the best screen recording editor on the market BUT there is no ScreenFlow for a PC. Camtasia is what I use for my PC now.
It's never a silly question. There's a plugin that helps with that I think it called streamfx. github.com/Xaymar/obs-StreamFX/wiki It's a killer plugin.

AMDYY - I can't believe it but there's a tally counter available for download. You assign a hot key to the LUA Script and when that key is pressed A number (text source) increases by one! After struggling with timer plugins etc. I found this tutorial. Works like a charm. I hope the OBS team will give us more options though, like formatting etc.
I am having trouble with OBS dropping my audio when live streaming. I. Have to keep a close I on my audio, when I see it drop I have to go and deselect my audio source and reselect it in the drop down to bring it back up very annoying. I am using a Focus right scarlet 2i2 For my audio interface. Any Ideals on how to stop this from happening.

Scott, thank you so very much for everything in this video! I had been using a third-party app for my stream starting countdown timer and it was very undwieldy. I had NO IDEA that OBS Studio had a built-in Lua script for a countdown! I would never in a thousand years have thought to look at that menu and explore that option. Also, I had configured sounds to play with each scene transition, but I never knew how to make it so that I could hear them when they happen. I always had to watch the replay of the stream to hear them. So you killed two birds with one giant stone for me with this video. Thanks again!
When I connected zoom, then I used OBS with frame. After that, I started streaming on You Tube. After 59 minutes, You Tube stopped the live. Do you know how can I fix this problem? Please reply to me. Thank you!
If you put a host camera (video capture device) in the scene at the bottom and set the video countdown to "show nothing when video ends" plus "do not loop" the countdown will go right to host camera. NOW is there a way for the host to see a countdown to when the video is going to end through his monitor? So I have directed this countdown scene to play in his monitor but I don't want it to be live. This way he will know he is live.
At 9:52 you say, "I hit my options key..." to shrink the size of the countdown box, but you don't show what you are doing. Where is the "options" key? Is it a hotkey you have set up, and if so, how do we set it up?"

You need to upgrade OBS homie. Yes, if you use iVCam with a super long USB cord will work. The wireless method may also work.

Sure, just place the count down over the camera showing your setup. It would be super simple.

You need to put head phones on and turn off your desktop speakers. Voicemeeter (USB mixer) will help vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/

Sure... I used to have countdowns in the beginning and intermissions. Just create separate scenes for both. It's not a big deal.
