I agree with the "Ted is still Alive " theory. Given his name and personality. The pharoh was believed to be reincarnated in a new life. But (sobek ra) is the protector of life.
I think a clone of Farro would be really interesting. Especially if Clone Farro isn’t a villain-it’d be really cool is clone Farro had no idea who he was, only to discover that his original destroyed the world twice... I feel like that’d be a cool character to play as.
I would not be surprised if this theory hold some water. I just hope the Elizabeth made a backup plan on the chance that Faro would do something stupid. She was smart enough and knew him incredibly well that she would’ve foreseen he would tamper with the project. The moment he approached Elizabeth with the idea of a ‘kill switch’, she’d have taken steps necessary to ensure Ted’s tampering could be undone. Although, I don’t think even she could’ve thought Ted would kill all the Alphas.
I suspect her bet is ODYSSEY. The explosion was an announcement to Earth they were on their way. They are in the "silent running" mode, as not to give the AI's any bright ideas about giving chase.
@@emechanism85 A bit late but possibly so. But it would've been tricky to pull it off if she was still alive and she would've figured his true intentions.
Nighthawke70 -yeah; except Elizebet wouldn’t have bothered lying in her own personal journals about it. Also, she had no reason to think the sub-functions would ever separate from Gaia
I hope this isn't true, because i dont need another reason to fucking hate Ted Then again, if it is true, that means theres another Ted out there, alive, ready to be killed
I would very happily pay $30 for a DLC that is nothing but beating the hell out of Faro. That said, what if Faro enacted Lightkeeper on his own? With a 'captive audience' ... he could have raised Alpha clones in whatever manner he chose. He wasn't a major technical expert as much as he was a businessman, after all - he may have needed them to make whatever tweaks he desired, especially since he murdered the original Alphas. I definitely think he kept a copy of Apollo behind, after all... if for no other reason than I don't believe Gaia would have stood for its total loss. Gaia had plenty of time to run data recovery / break through whatever system lockouts he may have enacted (One of her core functions was to break the encryption on the Faro Plague'd bots, after all) - I personally think they would have had to reach some sort of compromise - she recovers Apollo, but he gets to keep the copy in reserve, so then at least it exists to be potentially distributed in the future. As to why this didn't happen... what if Faro had an indoctrinated staff of Alpha clones working towards the ends he convinced them were necessary? It would have taken not only major technical expertise to design the signal, but to hook into the system... so SOMEone tied closely to the oldworld must have sent it. (A mysterious signal that grants not only sentience, unshackling AI subordinate functions, AND a capability to break free of the primary program? That would take some *major* technical capability, along with inside knowledge into how it was initially designed. I have a strong suspicion that Lightkeeper / Faro / Whatever is in Thebes had, at the very least, a major part in whats happened.) Another potential thing to consider: What if Lightkeeper was enacted on Odyssey? (Assuming it survived.) 1000 years into Lightkeeper, it could be that the Signal that was transmitted could have been an experiment, never meant to be used... but the future Travis Tate transmitted it (Or someone, Tate just seems like the likeliest suspect.) - I picture a failing colony, and a divided opinion on how best to proceed. Upon discovering that Earth is only slightly inhabited, and then only by primitives... they want a clean slate. If we assume that it would take a few hundred years to get there, it could be that they expect Hades / Gaia to do their work, and they arrive to a refreshed, person-free environment to colonize, free of primitives to get in their way.
Interesting tidbit to add: Faro translates to beacon or Lighthouse and a Lightkeeper is the title for a lighthouse's caretaker. Not sure exactly what that implies for Ted but obviously we will see in the future. Really great videos! Thank you. I am really enjoying this series. I hope you keep it up after the addition of the DLC.
Say Faro did clone himself, and saved a copy of Apollo for his clone. Now let's say the tribes around the area where Thebes is, discover the Faro clone, and with its vast knowledge, treat it like a living god. And that one tribe seems to have knowledge beyond the ken of the other tribes. I can see such rumors spreading along trade routes and eventually reaching Aloy. A city like the Old Ones, a tribe with understanding of the Metal World beyond any tribe, and a living god. It also ties into Egyptian mythology well since thr Egyptian believed their pharaohs were in fact living gods.
@@actualgamer6286 I know right I just hope the developer makes the sequel fantastically content heavy, like bleeding with content and knowledge I just full of these meticulous details in the story. I hope the sequel will do that. CAN'T wait love the game so much. Can't stop praising it.
This could be possible, I mean there is a new mysterious secret tribe, in Forbidden West, which Tilda is part of. Tilda is a new character, and she looks 'modern' wearing ancient armour. She could either be part of that tribe or be a descendant of the Odyssey project. Who knows.
I just found your channel. Amazing content. By the way, i've always thought that Sylens is the clone of Samina Ebadji, the Apollo Alpha. That would explain his apetite for knowledge, he is a living, breathing Apollo tbh.
That could be possible. There is also a possibility that other alphas are also reincarnated in other cradle facilities all around the globe since the one at the mothers heart can't be the only one.
Musab Mohammed that would honestly be a great title for the sequel and would be cool to meet the genetic clones of all the alphas of horizon zero dawn.
Thanks to a redditor I found your channel and have been binging all today. All your videos are amazing and really shows how even more amazing this game is. I've been pondering theories and so glad I have this channel to help me really understand the lore! Thanks!!
With the debut of HZD for the PC only two weeks away, I have been viewing your vids for a second time (having played the game almost to conclusion on my daughter's PS4) I have especially been enjoying the 'Metal World' vids, as they show what real world structures may look like, post apocalypse, in the 31st century. All are very well done. Hope you're able to continue into HZD:TFW>
I am really enjoying these videos. They are well done. Your comments on the Lightkeeper protocol seems lacking with respect to Aloy. I wonder what exactly was the Lightkeeper protocol? Elizabet talks of the Alphas raising of "clones" of themselves. But Aloy is not a clone with a 99.47% genetic match to Elizabet. A clone is an exact match. Eleuthia 9 logs indicate that zygote banks and nutrient stores were depleted. Gaia refers to "genetic material in cryostorage" that she would use to reinstantiate Elizabet. The cradle log refers to a "file", LK1A1-4510. I assume LK refers to Lightkeeper. So, it appears that this "file" includes, not only genetic material, but also the necessary nutrients. The nomenclature of the file name is puzzling. LK1A1 would refer to Alpha Prime, but why 4510? Unless, since this was not an exact genetic match to Elizabet, there were at least 4510 variants. At the cut scene where Aloy finds Elizabet's body, she is listening to the audio log of a conversation between Gaia and Elizabet. Gaia asks "If you had a child, Elizabet, what would you have wished for him or her?" My guess is that LK1A1-4510 was the fulfillment of that wish.
Hey Michael, really happy your enjoying them! Firstly, I'd like to state I am nothing close to a geneticist lol, but here is what I have come to understand. That Aloy's ever so slight variant in genetic makeup may come from the the cloning process itself. Unless new technology was implemented, when a clone is made using nuclear transfer, the egg cell that's used to receive the donor nucleus is already filled with mitochondria contributed by the egg donor. As the clone develops, its cells will be filled with these mitochondria-and their genes-rather than the mitochondria from the DNA donor. Basically meaning that 99.47% or what have you is the closest to an exact clone as you can get. As far as the stores being depleted, it would seem like you inferred that each Zygote birthed from cradles also included its own individual nutrients to birth successfully. Thus why GAIA was able to birth Aloy in the first place, since Light-keeper had not been authorized, it was still available. If I had to speculate, I'd say have to say the 4510 number is more indicative to the sequential number to when the genetic material was captured opposed to a variant. But since this is unconfirmed, you're speculation is just as good as mine. Also, I agree that Aloy is the symbolic fulfillment of Elisabet's dream. She is essentially everything she described she wanted in a child :) Thank you for your well constructed thoughts! I'm always up for a good lore discussion!
I'm not a geneticist either. And it has been awhile since my last biology class. So, I went to NIH, FDA, and Univ. of Utah to review the process. From I understand, the mitochondria influences the gene expression, activating or deactivating parts of the DNA. But, it doesn't change the DNA. There are other environmental influences, as well. The branch of study is called ecogenetics. However, the DNA structure is not changed. I have to stand by my original assessment that Aloy is not a clone, but a construct by Gaia...and truly a daughter of Elisabet. In order to keep the gene expression as close to Elisabet as possible, Gaia would have used an egg donated by Elisabet, edited Elisabet's DNA from one of her somatic cells, then injected it into the egg.
@@asianhavoc1872 A somatic cell does not require a father. I suppose, technically, the father would be Elisabet's since it would be his genetic material in Elisabet's cell.
This theory holds some merit and I think it would be good story material for Horizon 2. I can imagine Aloy venturing into the Forbidden West to track the source of the transmission, finding a city built around an excavated pyramidal bunker and a civilisation worshipping their leader as a god, obeying his every whim without question. Imagine the horror when she sees it's Ted Faro, the man who destroyed the world, an ancient evil returned to the living with an army at his beck and call. But personally, I see a few fundamental flaws. Ted Faro came to view knowledge as a disease and was convinced that if it was given to future generations, they would only destroy the world all over again. I strongly doubt he would want anyone to possess that kind of knowledge, least of all his own clone. It seems to me that he refused to take responsibility for the results of his actions, he seems to blame knowledge itself rather than his foolish use of it. But if he had any rationale left in his mind, even he could not deny he had created this automated apocalypse through his greed, indifference, selfishness, arrogance and shortsightedness. It is not unreasonable to assume he believed his clone would have the same shortcomings and thus would be the worst person in the world to possess this kind of knowledge, the power to endanger all life and be the god-king of a new civilisation. For all his faults, it seems to me he wanted life restored as much as anyone. I doubt he would be willing to gamble it, even if it he knew people would literally praise his name. And if that was the purpose of the transmission, why would he go to the trouble of making all the sub functions self aware when HADES was the only one he actually needed. And why would he transform it into such an erratic entity, one that was beyond his control? But for me, the biggest argument against this theory is the fact that Ted Faro explained himself to the Alphas and told them he had wiped out Apollo. If his plan was to save a copy, give it to his clone and have him endanger and save the world, why not just kill the Alphas and be done with it? What would be the point in lying to people he was about to silence? Plus he'd be creating a recording that might expose the truth about his clone to the people of the future. Here's my own theory about Faro's involvement with the transmission, which is admittedly a modified version of yours. Ted Faro purges Apollo and lives out the rest of his life in his luxury bunker Thebes, a bunker with birthing chamber. In the 31st century, some people stumble across this bunker and find a wealth of Old One's technology preserved by the fact it's airtight. They find the computer terminals inside contain a wealth of knowledge, enough for them to figure out what that place was and what had happened to the Old Ones. Possibly they find a copy of Apollo, or more likely, the means to recreate it. They realise the immense potential and power this could give them, possibly they realise they could threaten and save the world and thus be considered gods. However they find they cannot fully access Thebes systems as they are designed to respond only to Ted Faro. So they retrieve DNA from his corpse and create a clone of Ted and use him to access the system. Incidentally, I just read that Horizon 2 has been teased to be in production, so it may not be a matter of debate for much longer.
See, Ted is a may that speaks out of both sides of his mouth. On one hand he says knowledge is the disease, but even a man like him would understand the value of all of human knowledge in a new world of men. He would horde it for himself, becoming a god in essence. Apollo is alive. That I'm sure. I remember a datapoint saying that Sobeck designed ZD with Faro in mind, specifically to keep him out of it. He doesn't know how it fully works. If he doesn't know how it fully works then he would be unable to fully purge Apollo.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Ted Faro clone, or even Faro himself (having transplanted his brain and/or consciousness into successive generations of clones). And as for the knowledge, there's a saying. Good for me, not for Thee. Having decided that knowledge is evil/a burden for future generations, It's not that big of a step to "I need to keep it so i can make sure they dont find it". And its possible that he deleted the Apollo AI, but know the Knowledge Base/Data Base full of knowledge. My money is in a future game, a computer core from the Odyssey (which has a Alpha Build of Apollo) will either deorbit or be found in Near Earth orbit. Prompting Alloy to get Hephaestus under control/build her some kind of ride-able machine to go get it. Imagine the kind of exploration you would get if Hephaestus built you (or you over-road) a Whale to dive the depths the ocean? Or Rocket boosters to strap to a now over ridden Thunder Bird to launch into orbit to find an ancient computer core in orbit... all while having to fight of Egyptian Themed goons who can over-ride machines of their own (Ted would have access to the Faro Plague Machines and likely the master over ride himself). All while trying to figure out what caused the Faro Plague in the first place, Destroyed the Odessey AND set off Hades (which BTW, i'm betting was a Rogue AI. It wouldnt have had to hack the Hartz Timor Swarm to cause the plague. Just hack some Hartz Timor mooks computer who had the access codes, use the codes to login and infect the systems, change/scramble the codes and boom. Faro Plague)
@@matt_1984_ Odyssey is lost contact when attempted to leave solar system therefore it must be far away from earth orbit and i doubt it could enter earth orbit again. There is still one question left to answer and i think it would be the plot for the sequel that is Who send bug which severe GAIA control to the subordinate?
While Faro turned out to be alive in FW, I'm still kind of hanging on to the hope that there is a clone of him with the Zeniths still. Given how much control and his secret Omega clearance, I just feel like there's no way he didn't have a back up for himself in case he died in his bunker. Would be a cool plot twist in the 3rd installment.
Addition to the theory: He had that level of clearance and control. Knowing Elizabeth, that she would sacrifice herself to save the others to complete their mission, Ted Faro probably had something to do with the seal not closing properly as well. Thus setting in motion this theories plan. And this clone of his attempting his mission to become essentially a god to mankind, seeing the clone of Elizabeth through Hades would have set into motion the kill order to prevent the plans from being hindered. I think its pretty close to what they'll come up with.
I'm late to this...but I absolutely love the hidden meanings behind everything (such as names etc...). It makes the story telling that much more deeper and symbolic. I'm a sucker for hidden symbolism
Great content. One thing about the Lightkeeper that confuses me, though. If the idea was to have 'copies' of the Alphas to upkeep the system and be around to trouble-shoot, wouldn't you need them to grow at the Gaia Prime facility? What good does it do to grow the clones at satellite facilities, as opposed to the control center?
Because the Alphas were never meant to be at Gaia prime; they were supposed to be monitoring remotely from Elysium, but had not finished the project entirely by the time Gaia prime was sealed, so they had to stay there to finish it. The Lightkeeper protocol was also scrapped long before this time at any rate, so the lightkeeper zygotes were never moved out of Eluthia.
Also as GAIA Prime has been destroyed, even if there was any change that there were zygote there, they would have been destroyed by the blast and radiation.
This theory is extremely prosaic, a perfect mirror to the events that started Project Zero Dawn. Yet again, a other Ted on the verge of destroying the world through arrogance and insanity, and Aloy/Elisabet being the one who needs to stop him. History does not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme.
I JUST made the connection: all the egyptian names in his robots. His bunker being called "Thebes".... Ted Farrow/Ted Pharao. Ted really DOES want to become a reborn god...
Coming here AFTER FW & Burning Shores. The Ted Faro thing? Y’all called it. On the money. An additional theory? The Lightkeeper Protocol wasn’t scrapped at all, and was never intended to be scrapped in the first place. I think Elizabet had a strong feeling about what might happen in the future (Far Zenith’s return to Earth). Both the Far Zenith consortium & ZD were equipped with human zygotes, hence the colony on Sirius, Eleuthia-9, and the other cradle facilities on earth. Both Far Zenith & the Alphas had means to clone Sobeck, meaning it’s not far outside the realm of possibility that multiple zygotes exist for all of the other Alphas as well. It’ll be hard to tell until the next game. But I think there are ALREADY other clones of the Alphas. How FZ wouldn’t know about them though is beyond me. This is all just speculation though, but if Sobeck can be cloned twice, it seems silly to suggest she’s the only one.
I really like the idea of a Ted clone popping up trying to be The Hero when Aloy had already saved everyone (at least for the time being.) She will NOT like him no matter how far removed the clone is from Ted 1.0. Its a vaguely obvious plot twist but it has so much potential. I hope this holds some truth in the sequel. However as ever-Fuck Ted Faro.
Great series! Really love it! Do you have any ideas on why it seems some of the “metal devils” seem to come shocking close to destroying GAIA infrastructure, and also why they seem frozen mid attack.
@@RandomSideQuest I think it might have been because when she started activating the shut down code they recognized the threat and began to respond to the signals. That si just what makes sense though, although that doesn't explain why the Horus are attacking Aloys Cradle. Holy cow I just thought about that! why are the Horus attacking Aloys cradle in the Sacred Mountain? in my theory they woudl only be attacking the signal towers GAIA created. THose cradles should have been sealed from all outside signals untill the Faro robots where shut down. Maybe GAIA used all of her platforms to trasmit the signal? which would be foolish in my opinion and not line up with the plan Elizabet proposed.
What if Eluthia's new goal is to help restoring gaia by gestating a new generation of Alphas in a cradle facility somewhere in the forbidden west using the materials of the lightkeeper protocol? I mean if there was Sobek's genetic code it would make sense that the genetic code of the others would be present too. Pheraps Eluthia could also reprogram the Serivtors to go out and get supplies for them and their growth. And maybe also hacking into the lyceum to teach them who they are.
Always never understood the flaws that the Alphas made, Like Faro was a dangerous man from the beginning and instead of jamming a leash up his ass at all times they let him do whatever he wanted. Same with Tate, that hacker would have always been a problem
Bro so close yet just not there this was amazing in hindsight though but grand question here is really what power of seeing the future do you have cause I have some questions about the stock market I’d like to ask
I truly believe that Ted Faro had been slowly deteriorating since Elizabet gave him the info about the end of the world but as long as Elizabet was still alive his state didn't change too much but once she had sacrificed herself (which was something that Ted was completely incapable of comprehending because of his naturally selfish mindset, an act of such pure selflessness was something he couldn't comprehend) his stability quickly started to fracture and go downhill after that which ultimately led to his decision to destroy Apollo and kill the remaining heads of the zero dawn project in his own broken mind he was sacrificing the life's of the project leads and the knowledge of Apollo to save the future generations (but really the true reason he did it was selfishness so he wouldn't be remembered as the man who doomed humanity, but because of his mental state he truly believed he was doing it to save the future)
What if Sylens has or was given piece's of data from one of Gia's subordinate functions like Apollo. He could be a clone or a very sophisticated machine designed to carry out Ted Faro's will in actuality? Or even I feel like Sylens could be the brother AI to Gaia that what given a physical body they are both black and look similar he could have been Ted Faro's Plan B?
@@OutlawKING111 Sylens was just some curious guy who wanted to learn about old ones and their knowledge he seemed very obsessed with it. The others simply didn't have any interest they were too busy with their tribal ways, they're so backwards and have no clue that's why they worship doors or AI lol. However if there will be Horizon Zero Dawn 2 Aloy will have lot work to do tracking down those Self Aware Subordinates which escaped from GAIA prime facility put everything back to place and face some far greater threat, digging up more information about the past civilisations and explore more new things I'm really excited for for it 😊
@@beastmotoz I am VERY excited for a possible sequel. I believe Aloy will have to travel to the forbidden west in order to find Sylens. In the credits cutscene Sylens is seen with a Metal Devil far out in a deserted area. As far as we know, there are NO Metal Devils in the desert area that we play in. So I'm guessing Sylens is in the forbidden west and contacts Aloy.
Hey! i started diving back into your old videos. I have a ton of thoughts about this theory before i can say for sure if i agree with this theory, but there is one big point to make about your closing argument were i think it is flawed. Ted Faro could reliably assume that He could outlive Elizabet and therefore grantee the distruction of apollo from the Cradle mainframes. The key point of this is the difference between his "hypotetical cloning set up and the Alphas. Because his plan was to raise successors in the long term, and the original Light bringer protocol for the Alphas were to make only a few successors, his clones would far outlive any potential clones of Elizabet's. So while he personally would not outlive Elizabet, His clones would. And in the same way Aloy gained access to the systems, his clones could to delete Apollo and Secure their control over the systems. I still don't think I agree with this theory, but I do think your point that He could not reliably destroy Apollo is incorrect for the same reason Aloy could gain Alpha Prime Clearance. What do you think?
They also hint at cryogenics in the story. Maybe Ted Faro was not only footing the bill for HZD, but also overseeing the development of successful cryogenic technology! Maybe he awakened from his cryogenic slumber, saw the state of the world and then utilized his omega clearance privilege to set Hades in motion, but ended up setting all other functions into disarray as well?
I have a request, if you will. I would like to know what your thoughts are on the "first kids" raised by the parent bots, the teacher bot, the mother bot, and the discipline bot. There's a lot I may have missed.
Well the multi serviters were designed by ELEUTHIA's alpha Patrick Bochard Klien as part of supplying early childhood development and caregiving. But without APOLLO, the children could not recieve any further education, and making the learning centers unavailable. Those children grew discontented, and then aggressive, forcing the bots to defend themselves. Then when resources finally ran out, they were released from the cradle facilities and then became the first generation of humans. I'd need to go back to 100% confirm, but I think , outside that healer bot, the bots all had disciplinary capabilities.
Ted Faro is still alive. Suspended animation, as was discussed at some point. And he sent the message toi Gaia, making her subodinate functions escape. He went insane in his own time after causing the apocalypse, he's still insane. Or like you say, his evil clone is out there.
Sylens is a Ted Faro clone. Perhaps it was never his DNA to be copied, just his legacy. Or emerging from Thebes, perhaps his clone was the first Sun-King. Pharaoh of Amun-Ra perhaps?
Too nuts. Plus the Alpha in charge of the Lightkeeper Protocol was under strict orders not to tinker with the genetic code. Odds are he did SOME tweaks, given the percentage difference between Aloy and Elizabet. Besides, Faro is Anglo-Saxon, Sylens is exactly the opposite. Not buying they were able to recode in that short of time in a cave.
I really hope the theory about the Faro clone is wrong; it would not make for a terribly interesting plot, would make Faro a comic book villain rather than a morally grey, complicated character who did some good before he did a whole lot of bad, and is too rife with plot holes. I think Faro was jealous of Elizabet, and he had pretty much lost his mind by the time he killed the alphas (obviously) but I think he really believed his stated reason for purging Apollo, and that action was enough to assuage his guilt. I think he was content to live out the rest of his days with his own madness, and he viewed this one move as his one, fully sufficient attempt to save humanity.
Another question is what happened to the kids that were raised by servitors in the facilities? What knowledge of the prior world did they have and wouldn't they have passed that knowledge down through generations? Also, what happened to the servitors? We saw them in the hologram flashbacks in Mother's Cradle. Maybe the kids grew up to become intelligent tech savvy adults before leaving the cradle facilities and possibly managed to bring the servitors with them!!
What if Ted's clone is the final Boss of the Entire Horizon series? What if the final battle for humanity's future comes down to the reincarnations of Ted Faro vs Elisabet Sobek? It would be a contest of ideology and morality, not just a battle of might.
I'm convinced we'll pay a visit to Thebe in Forbidden West. Not so much that Faro is directly responsible for sending the signal that activated Hades. Of course he had access to all available technology, so anything from cloning to cryogenic storage is on the table, even uploading himself into an AI, which may or may not have gone rogue. I applaud the writers for keeping themselves quite a few backdoors open to continue the story without breaking the established lore.
@@77Productions77 Yeah, but on the other hand, going out off screen is was the ultimate humiliation for someone with a god complex. I'm more concerned what they'll do with Sylens now that Lanxe Reddick is gone. 😢 Can't imagine anyone else in that role honestly, and bis character is to crucial to just write him out between games.
Now that we have Horizon II: The Forbidden West on its way, perhaps we will find out the locations of Apollo and Thebes and their fates. Ted Faro's ego wouldn't allow him to just live out his life in Thebes, alone. Your theory is a good one, but I don't think it will happen, if it does, exactly as you described. Gonna be fun seeing how close you are though. I'm betting on pretty damn close.
Awesome theory and..lil disturbing at the same time..as we look for Elizabeth and what she tought Gaia, and saying that Gaia should stop listening to Ted and listen to her,Ted by deactivating Gaia would deactivate all her subordinate functions..as we don't know exact date when earth becomes 'friendly' habitat,we must assume that some time must have been passed to that point, and regarding of resources Ted has available, the q is could he manage to survive all the time, and his genetic kids after? Hope those things will be answered in next hzd2 chapter..but that Sunfall keeps me wonder, same as Nora believes of All-Mother..
Ted was reincarnated as Teb but when Gaia destroyed herself the saved version of apollo was also destroyed (somehow) so Teb as no knowledge of the past -> Teb is the villain of the sequel boom confirmed
I don't think so. I remember a data point saying that Sobeck had Zero Dawn designed with Faro in mind, to the point he wouldn't understand how Zero Dawn and GAIA would fully work. Kinda like how Dr. Abraham Erskine never wrote down his complete super soldier serum in fear of it falling into the wrong hands. Sobeck never trusted Faro, I doubt she was ever going to fully let him into the inner workings of GAIA. Especially with his mental health in rapid decline.
this is an awesome theory has some intrigued and would bring new element to the game and would make me hate him even more lol. once again a awesome video
By the way has anyone tried looking for the jungle jewel horus? I found the climbable edges to get up there however the yellow ledges are missing its like after the mission you're not allowed back there. Anyways if you go around the map you can see more land and a tentacle from that horus but that's pretty much all I can see before the game tells me I can't go any further.
This theory sounds like something that Narcissistic Sociapath Faro would have done. Also there is a data point in frozen wilds about an attack on a life extending spa for the rich, maybe it's not a clone but the original Ted Faro made artificially immortal.
Have you thought that Ted caused Liz death. Knowing she would close the hatch. So he stopped the hatch from closing all the way. Plus Sylens could be Ted's clone. Changed his looks to hide who he is. I know that one is out there
I`m very very much against this theory because it makes Ted the villain. Lore of HZD is amazing and filled with personal stories of simple people, and it was always, always grey. Theories like this break the pattern and make Ted to be a simple villain, which is silly.
but it's not really taking away his 'grey' just darkening it. As the story of ZD goes on, we see Ted slowly loosing stability. Sobeck runs interference until she sacrifices herself. Ted funded ZD to attempt to stop the truth from getting out: that his lack of true foresight caused the glitch. If this theory is true, his now "clone" is showing the same lack of foresight. Clone is thinking that he could save the day, become the "Man who saved the world" again. But didn't foresee that GAIA would not let HADES simply reverse Terraforming operations since she had already gotten to the point where humans have been on the planet for generations (going by the number of Sun-Kings listed in the Legendary Hunts and Redmaw 1 datapoints). Everything ZD did, even most things FAS did were above TEd's head, but not his clone.
Well sure the theory requires the death of Elisabet... can we consider how that malfunction which was the cause of her death is.... conveniant. I mean even the highest tech can fail, but admittedly seems odd and i believe Faro did resented Elisabet probably blaming her for how he came to be view as the one who destroyed the world (hearing the term faro plague must be quite a blow for a narcisit like him), so killing her does not seem out of the realm of possibility i believe. And seeing their interactions she was quite harsh and dismisive with him, and as he was her boss at some point that must have hurt his ego. So he arranges for the door failure knowing or assuming she being the one more heavily invested in zero dawn would sacrifice herself tl fix it, then gets rid of apollo erasing the evidence of his guilt in one stroke and kills the alphas for good measure and then the plan as stated in the theory can proceed. The asshole can not be happy ruining the world for wveryone just once... and thats why we can not have nice things!
Interesting theory but would it be not be more fitting if Ted made plans to have a clone GUIDE the new world's inhabitants. To make sure his mistake never ever happens again cuz you can clearly see in the final holos that Ted was deeply and I do mean deeply regretful to the point of losing his mind over what he had done. With his state of mind he would have tried everything he had available to him to fix or reverse what he had set in motion not to rid himself of the taint but to redeem and absolve himself of his sins. What he would have likely done is like the uploader said create a clone of himself and have the only working APOLLO sub function. His intent might have been to create a clone that will fix the wrongs that he did and have it be one of the new world's guardians, one who always oversees the flow of technology and never allowing it to go out of control ever again. The only problem to this is.... the clone might be him genetically but personally it does not carry the same desire the original had. If this clone was indeed made and educated with the full might of APOLLO can you just imagine what this guy would be thinking at that point in time ? Especially since instinctively he would be like his original who loves to exploit opportunities. The unknown signal is kinda odd though since even GAIA does not know of it and if clone Ted did send it.... why the secrecy ? Ted Faro had omega level clearance and the kill switch codes to deactivate GAIA. If clone Ted wanted to portray himself as a God he can easily do it by taking control of GAIA and having all the machines obey him, he can literally create life through ARTEMIS and DEMETER add a lil Old World technology in the mix and every native on that Land would immediately worship him as a Divine Being !
Started playing hzd with the dlc. Fast played threw game wasn't interested in the lore just the fights. After seeing the trailer im playing fir lore. 39hrs in and at disable network is where im at. Can't wait to explore the under sea world.
It's a solid theory, BUT... I don't understand, how anything could withstand the robotic swarm, destroying EVERYTHING! A bunker is something. A GAIA is something. Why wasn't it destroyed/assimilated with every bit of O2 and other molecules?
This just makes more annoyed about how Thebes turned out. The Thebens would have been a perfect new tribe to introduce. A conversation between Aloy and a clone of ted faro would have been a nice touch. The horror was great. But, still
I agree with the "Ted is still Alive " theory. Given his name and personality. The pharoh was believed to be reincarnated in a new life. But (sobek ra) is the protector of life.
Holy shit, I never realized that, and I love Egyptian mythology!
OMG 😱 I never twigged that, that’s awesome, Elisabet and by extension Aloy, are the protectors of Life! Guerrilla you SNEAKY bastards, I LOVE IT 😍
I dont believe Ted Faro is still alive but I think there totally could be a clone of him out there
Holy shit
@Malachi Cui I've thought about this technology. What if Aloy could receive all of Elizabet's knowledge?
Even as this theory is not completely correct I am shocked how close you got after seeing Ted's true fate in Forbidden West.
Really hope there's a clone of Tate out there somewhere. The world of Horizon needs more death metal.
Or any kind of metal that isn't used to make robots.
I'm fairly certain there are at least offspring of a clone of Tate out there in the world.
What a character he would be...
(Nice profile)
well its genetic material is supposed to be in the cradle facility...
The purveyor of all things pop culture in Apollo
I think a clone of Farro would be really interesting. Especially if Clone Farro isn’t a villain-it’d be really cool is clone Farro had no idea who he was, only to discover that his original destroyed the world twice... I feel like that’d be a cool character to play as.

@@doxielain2231 what did you think
I am replaying it because someone deleted my PS4 files, or the PS4 did it on its own.
Do you think if Elizabeth survived the vent malfunction incident, Ted Faro would've killed her too along with the other Alphas?
@@emechanism85 A bit late but possibly so. But it would've been tricky to pull it off if she was still alive and she would've figured his true intentions.
Elizabet*
Nighthawke70 -yeah; except Elizebet wouldn’t have bothered lying in her own personal journals about it. Also, she had no reason to think the sub-functions would ever separate from Gaia
I hope this isn't true, because i dont need another reason to fucking hate Ted
Then again, if it is true, that means theres another Ted out there, alive, ready to be killed
I have a strong suspicion that Lightkeeper / Faro / Whatever is in Thebes had, at the very least, a major part in whats happened.)
Another potential thing to consider: What if Lightkeeper was enacted on Odyssey? (Assuming it survived.) 1000 years into Lightkeeper, it could be that the Signal that was transmitted could have been an experiment, never meant to be used... but the future Travis Tate transmitted it (Or someone, Tate just seems like the likeliest suspect.) - I picture a failing colony, and a divided opinion on how best to proceed. Upon discovering that Earth is only slightly inhabited, and then only by primitives... they want a clean slate. If we assume that it would take a few hundred years to get there, it could be that they expect Hades / Gaia to do their work, and they arrive to a refreshed, person-free environment to colonize, free of primitives to get in their way.
cheeseguy3412 i think he will be in the sequel. if he's not already awake, sylens may awaken him while looking for knowledge

I just found this channel yesterday and have been doing the same thing. Lol
I really like this idea

This could be possible, I mean there is a new mysterious secret tribe, in Forbidden West, which Tilda is part of. Tilda is a new character, and she looks 'modern' wearing ancient armour. She could either be part of that tribe or be a descendant of the Odyssey project. Who knows.

That could be possible. There is also a possibility that other alphas are also reincarnated in other cradle facilities all around the globe since the one at the mothers heart can't be the only one.

She is essentially everything she described she wanted in a child :)
Thank you for your well constructed thoughts!
Why not raise their own clones? Heck, it might mellow Travis Tate out a bit.
@@mjbarger777 then who is the father
I agreed

@@Phreemunny That makes a great deal of sense. Thanks!
Interesting theory and one I support.
That would be a crazy if it was true! If you haven't checked out the Hades bid, that's my theory concerning the Unkown Signal
At some point, (maybe april fools day?) Please do one on Dod Blevins!
Hahaha good ol Blevins. I'll see what I can do Nick lol
Thanks Evan! You know I'll do some digging on that. I'm planning on doing a vid on the entire Chariot Line so if I find anything, I'll put it in :)
Every video in this series is very well done.
These are all so informative and entertaining thank you for your great work
Think I’d have liked this storyline better than the room-filling thousand-year-old blob-man we got. To say nothing of Ceo. :p
That theory makes a lot of sense. Yep, I think Faro is "alive".
Yeah. Sylens is pretty smart for a society gone back to primitive times.
So I'm guessing Sylens is in the forbidden west and contacts Aloy.
"they´re both black".... lol yes mistery solved, you cracked the code, aleluya for your enlightment!
aracuscesar okay?😂
Hey! i started diving back into your old videos.
Oh my god.... I wonder if the sequel will explore more about this....
Great work bröther
They also hint at cryogenics in the story. Maybe Ted Faro was not only footing the bill for HZD, but also overseeing the development of successful cryogenic technology! Maybe he awakened from his cryogenic slumber, saw the state of the world and then utilized his omega clearance privilege to set Hades in motion, but ended up setting all other functions into disarray as well?
Another great video, bud! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Hopefully the LightKeeper protocol gets some development in Horizon: Forbidden West.
My God this makes total sense, it would be amazing if they confirmed this in the sequel. We may even see his clone.
Faro is obviously somewhere, like Zola.
Wow... this.. has opened a door to a lot of possibilities. I look forward to hearing more on this matter if you find something to expand it.
Right!? What a crazy twist that would be! If any new info arises, I'll be sure to update.
Ted Faro is still alive. Suspended animation, as was discussed at some point. And he sent the message toi Gaia, making her subodinate functions escape. He went insane in his own time after causing the apocalypse, he's still insane. Or like you say, his evil clone is out there.
Horizon 2: The Rise of the Faro!! I'd like that!
I think we all have had enough of Faro that basturd is better left dead and forgotten
Sylens is a Ted Faro clone. Perhaps it was never his DNA to be copied, just his legacy.
Or emerging from Thebes, perhaps his clone was the first Sun-King. Pharaoh of Amun-Ra perhaps?
Will Smidt maybe sylens is the offspring of a samina clone. That would explain his curiosity and quest for knowledge.
No way
Sylens was born and raised in the Banuk tribe as mentioned in the frozen wilds
Amazing theory. Seems plausible.
PBK is my favourite alpha

Your videos are awesome! :)
Duuuuude. That is a fun idea.
"Lightkeepr" really
though I love this series
I applaud the writers for keeping themselves quite a few backdoors open to continue the story without breaking the established lore.
nice guess!
I wish they did this tbh. The way he actually goes out send like wasted potential if you ask me
@@77Productions77 Yeah, but on the other hand, going out off screen is was the ultimate humiliation for someone with a god complex.
I'm more concerned what they'll do with Sylens now that Lanxe Reddick is gone. 😢
Can't imagine anyone else in that role honestly, and bis character is to crucial to just write him out between games.
You mentioned Egyptian Mythology but did you notice that Sobek is the name of the crocodile god?
Keep questin’. 😎
Personally, I think Faro was being influenced by Vast Silver.
This would make a great storyline for HZD2
Ted was reincarnated as Teb but when Gaia destroyed herself the saved version of apollo was also destroyed (somehow) so Teb as no knowledge of the past -> Teb is the villain of the sequel boom confirmed
Excellent work.
Lightkeeper project? Please keep Faro out lol. Even tho in spanish, Faro means literally, Lighthouse.
this is an awesome theory has some intrigued and would bring new element to the game and would make me hate him even more lol. once again a awesome video
Thebes holds the key to Apollo. There’s no way that arrogant SOB didn’t keep a copy for himself.
A few things did interfere with Zero Dawn's mission but at least life went on.
Faro=Pharaoh, theory confirmed
Another great video.
Thank you! :)
This theory sounds like something that Narcissistic Sociapath Faro would have done. Also there is a data point in frozen wilds about an attack on a life extending spa for the rich, maybe it's not a clone but the original Ted Faro made artificially immortal.
like he clones himself for the purpose of organ harvesting? that would work, in a twisted narcissistic sociapathic and yet mentally unstable way

It seems the Abomination back at Thebes wasn't listening to this directive.
Have you thought that Ted caused Liz death. Knowing she would close the hatch. So he stopped the hatch from closing all the way. Plus Sylens could be Ted's clone. Changed his looks to hide who he is. I know that one is out there
This is…surprisingly close
I`m very very much against this theory because it makes Ted the villain. Lore of HZD is amazing and filled with personal stories of simple people, and it was always, always grey. Theories like this break the pattern and make Ted to be a simple villain, which is silly.
Exactly This ^. It also trivializes the whole plot. " This is the bad guy and he wants to conquer the world". This whole theory is nonsense to me.
but it's not really taking away his 'grey' just darkening it.
Mind fckn blown. Thanks for sharing!!!
What if Far Zenith was actually some sort of facade and it was Ted Faro behind it all along?
Hey this is awesome!!! Keep up the great work. Hey could Silence be realted to ted feros
The masters theory wow
Light keeper, light bringer, lucifer, proteus.
Why would you give the person one of the highest clearance when all this shit started with him
Interesting theory but would it be not be more fitting if Ted made plans to have a clone GUIDE the new world's inhabitants.
Imagine if in Forbidden West one of the villains is Ted Faro’s clone
Ted Faro can very well be alive, either in Cryo or Cloning of Ted
It's a solid theory, BUT...
I don't understand, how anything could withstand the robotic swarm, destroying EVERYTHING! A bunker is something. A GAIA is something. Why wasn't it destroyed/assimilated with every bit of O2 and other molecules?
I don't think Ted Faro was ever considered essential personell. The only thing they needed from him was his money and corporate assets.
so he send the 10 guys who dig out hades and attach his head to the metal devil but roost stop him
Great Job man!!!! Liked and Subscribed :)
Thanks so much!! Welcome to the community!!
Subscribed (y) Nice work you do here
Thanks so much Omar! Glad you enjoy the content, and really appreciate your support!
This just makes more annoyed about how Thebes turned out. The Thebens would have been a perfect new tribe to introduce. A conversation between Aloy and a clone of ted faro would have been a nice touch. The horror was great. But, still
Mind blown
