Did you know about the female students who would run up Consti in the dark during rag week in night-dress? My Mam and I waited up to see them stream out of the Alex and up the slope past our first floor flat in Craglais House. I can still see them in my mind’s eye. I would have been about three years old. I was fascinated. The house was demolished many years ago. I have eighty short video-like memories of living there before we moved when I was four and a half years old!
Thank you for this. I was a student from '71 - 74 as well as spending holidays there as a child. My dad was there in 1938 but war interrupted his stay, so he returned in 1946. My sister was one of the first of the students in Rendel on the new hill campus, so we have quite an association with the place that I love so much. 💞

Growing up here you really take it for granted, but yeah.. there really isn't a place like it. It's special in so many ways and you only really realise once you leave.
Scott Waby I'm guessing that you were born in Aber or live there. You obviously love the place, as do the commentors below. I try to visit each year to look at the place the sea, the architechture and the people. I like many places but if I was confined to one it would be Aberystwyth.
Three of the best years of my life spent there between 1953 1and 1956. Life and love and a fair bit of drink!

I've lived in the area for over 20 years. I think its isolation is part of its charm.
