Hi, I am a 70year old keen model maker and have just got my Phantom, I have watched your video and have found it very instructive, have downloaded and updated my Naza, your video is very down to earth and easy to follow even for an old chap like me, WELL DONE!!
Thank you very much for the video, I had problems with my phanton calibration FC-40, but after following your instructions, my fc-40 is in the air again, greetings from Costa Rica, Central America.
What a brilliant video you have made,i was at my wits end until you saved my day. I am a complete newbie to this flying just took it up at the age of 70. Bought my first Phantom last year and lost it after two months it just went it's own way off into the night. Missed it so much bought another, but of late have had lots of problems with it eg not finding home base before flying. Not knowing who could help me i searched youtube and found your video.I cannot thank you enough, i went through it all step by step, my problems are now over i thank you again. Newbie
Thank you for a great video! After almost a year of not flying my Phantom I needed to update the firmware and calibrate it. Your video guided me safely through a long forgotten process.
Hi, just to say a big thanks bmdawe. I followed TH-cam video above whilst updating my phantom from v3.12. I followed it to the letter and bang I'm up and flying straight away mate. Very impressed thanks, keep up the good work
I can't tell you how thankful I am that you posted this. I had a crash two months ago, gimbals got all banged up, had to send it back to DJI which was a nightmare. Anyway, also my desk top crashed so i had to reload and reconfigure all that. So now I get my gimbals back and I want to recalibrate my phantom and all the stuff that goes with it. So I watch your step by step video, I had to load the drivers again, I figured that out after a while. I have the quad all set to go now. However its dark at this time in CT,US so I have to wait. I did increase the gains as you suggested in the video and i did hit the Enter key after each so i know they are now increased. I will let you know how it fly's tomorrow. Oh yea, I did calibrate the transmitter and re-caled the compass. I did all that you said. So anyway. Thanks.
Hi again Brian, Just a quick update to say I have now fitted a GPS tracker to my phantom. Got to say for £32 with a free SIM card from ebay it works brilliantly giving a link to google maps which is accurate to about 3 metres. Now have no fears about flying and losing another one. Cheers! Bill
Outstanding young man. This has been so helpful I can't thank you enough. I did everything you said on this thread and it straightened up my Phantom perfectly. Thank you again and keep up the great work.
IMPORTANT info for new owners of Version 1.1.1 Phantoms! Myself and at least one other V1.1.1 owner that I know of ran into the same problem when upgrading our new Phantoms to firmware version 4.0. You must select D-BUS as receiver type or you'll get the yellow flashing LED indicating loss of Tx signal when you go out to do the compass dance. everything else goes exactly like in this awesome video!
Hi bmdawe Great video. Everything is very easy to undertstand and worked first time, when i upgraded to firmware 4.02. I would be lost without your video, because DJI´s manual is impossible to understand about upgrading & callibration. Keep up the GOOD Work :-) Looking forward to see more videos from you
I'm really, really impressed with your video, you've done an outstanding job and ultimately have helped me and I'm sure others, with the most comprehensive, detailed, walk through I've seen period!!. I've recently upgraded to the new firmware, but I will walk through the steps once more to make sure I haven't left anything out, also, I've added a gimbal with the gopro hero 3, I had no idea how to manipulate gains to accommodate the weight. Once again your level of care in informing others gold!
Thank you for your excellent video! The comment that you made earlier that the Phantom v1.1.1 and earlier use the d-bus saved the day for me. I upgraded to 4.02 and loaded the default parameters, but they also reset the Receiver type to PPM, thus I lost connectivity! I was going nuts trying to figure out why until I read your comment. You'd think they'd make something like that more obvious!
First of all, thanks for an excellent and easy to follow video. I got my Phantom V1.1.1 for Christmas and loved it. Have now decided to add a Zenmuse gimbal and upgrade board. The initial problem was lack of instructions/videos anywhere for the V1.1.1 Phantom which has a different receiver - two aerials and two connecting cables and repositioning of the bind button/LED. All went well by following your video above, no errors on the Naza Assistant software and everything works according to your instructions. However, when I put it all back together again, the motors won't start. I can get a GPS signal and home lock (flashing green LEDs), but can't start the motors. Ran the motor test through the Naza software and they all work and spin in the right direction. Baffled by this as it should work. Connected the Zenmuse and that powers up but the tilt lever is intermittent even though it works fine through the Naza softare. I've read through the comments on here but can't find a similar issue. It appears that everything is working apart from the transmitter and receiver not communicating. done the 'bind' test and that works ok (red LED goes off). Any ideas as to what is wrong?
Thanks for your reply. I don't remember the vertical setting I used, but it was 140-150% When that didn't work I used the default values again (from the standard Phantom settings file). I did "fly" the Phantom without a GoPro. I did the IMU calibration and double checked that the propellers were mounted correctly. My guess is that something is wrong with the TX calibration. I guess I will start over again and firmware upgrade a second time and do all the steps once again...
Nice clear video. Might be worth adding a note at the end of adjusting the gains that when the values are in red, the settings have not yet been written to the Naza. You have to press the enter key on the PC to save them (the font colour changes to black once saved)
Success!!! I did the Phantom-Transmitter Calibration several times, but I didn't have the throttle stick in the down position in the last step in this procedure.
Nicely done video that covers (in my opinion) some of the factors probably causing problems with the 4.0 firmware upgrade. Thanks for taking the time to explain the hows & whys of how to upgrade your phantom's firmware. I learned a lot from your explanations...
yes i installed the new main board, soldering was correct, I'm sure about that, my suspicion was about the cable's we plug on the NAZA (M1-M4) I'm almost sure i plugged them in the correct order, but have to open it up again to be sure. The update process in your video seems to have worked- no error warnings- calibrations were ok. and the gimbal is still working despite hitting the ground for 3-4 times. I will do the whole update process once again tonight.
Im glad i watch your video configuring the TX from your example without opening it up AFTER id already opened it up watching other videos ....Alas I came across yours straight to the point and it worked Now back to the Friendly sKys! #Salute
Just one more thing to note. That if you have a Zenmuse gimbal you need to calibrate the X1 Channel in the basic settings. After the upgrade as they are reset. Otherwise you loose the bottom 90 degrees of tilt on your gimbal. This is a problem because you cannot film downwards.
My Tx is the Phantom stock unit with the gimbal tilt lever on the back. See the attached link for the V1.1.1 that does indeed require selecting D-Bus from the receiver option. Jim
Many thanks for taking the time to reply to me. Rx is set to D-bus and I'm running Naza 4.02. Looking forward to your Zenmuse video to see if i've missed anything. Thanks again
I've now got the motors running with no errors on Naza Assistant V4.02, however the motors don't have enough power for take off. I've tried removing the gimbal but it made no difference. I increased the gain in accordance with your video recommendations. . . . . Getting there slowly. :-)
Cheers Mate!! And here i thought I was just crappy at this. But NOOO. I'm just lousy at finding direction never-mind reading the directions Now I can start using it with the gopro. Keep up the good work!!
Mr R for some reason I can't reply to your question, do you have the latest version of the software from DJI's website. Each software version is linked to a single firmware version if you have the latest then there won't be any more upgrades. They haven't done any for the P1 of FC40 for a long time
Hi it is the light on my transmitter. I have the FC40 and I did the calibration on my transmitter the way you showed on your video. Two sticks up and turn the power switch on. After that step my transmitter light never came back to green but stay sort of yellow. Any suggestion ?
Thanks very much FlyBoy! I'm from Uruguay, i purchased a Phantom 1, i'm in a blog of drones in Uruguay, i asked them for this topic an nobody helpme, i'll do the upgrade, very well explained, clear like a cristal, regards!
Hi Brian, Just upgraded my second Phantom (First one dumped me,and flew off complete with FPV gear etc) to 4.02 and noticed it said something about the Default configuration parameters not matching, can't remember exactly but carried on with update and it flies ok. Any thoughts about what the message meant? They were the D.C.P. Showing, on the page at the time. Regards, and thanks again, Willie.
Hi when u spoke about gain settings I had my software running and noticed that my x2 value was at zero and yours had been set all the way to the right side of the page can u explain?
Hi Brian, i finally calibrate the Tx, however, the GPS error[27] appears. This should be easy, I hope. I am installing brushless gimbal but unable to do tilt control on the X1 yet. Have you installed one? Thanks
Hi. When a upload the default configuration my phantom Fc40 lost the transmisor sinal. Now my Phantom is whith the led blinking all the time in yellow and does not respond from the Radio. What should i do? Please relp me!
hello...I was flying my Phantom 1 no issues, after a flight, went to go again, got all yellow fast lights...I have tried rebinding the transmitter, bought a new transmitter, nothing i have done seems to work...any assistance would be most welcome
I have not completed your instructions, but this is an excellent video. Kudos for such clear and concise instructions. There was one point when you calibrated the compass (GPS). Did you flip 6 times and leave in the ATI position and then revert back to GPS position once you rotated the quad? I have left in the GPS setting each time I make this maneuver.
Hi I have a problem after calibration of a transmitter. The transmitter light turns sort of an orange or a yellow color and wont turn back to green. What should I do to get it turn back to green. Thanks.
i have an quadcopter v2 some strange reason the camra does not work" however the wifi signal is conected when i go into the app on my phone and open it up" thers a message saying cannect to phanthom 2 vision failed" thers no satelite signal or camra or battry only wifi any idea???
Hi Brian, Thank you for your recommendation for installing the driver. Now that I have Naza M v4 firmware update on my phantom, my dji phantom transmitter is not calibrating. The ERROR[29] window pop up when I connect to the NAZA-M V2 assistance software. I have tried several times, but now I'm confuse. Do you have any suggestions/advise? Thank you
I have a question. How can I do to have my fpv connected with my Iphone and pitch control while phantom. Or get control of the chamber with the pitch control without turning off my iphone
hi bud i followed your guidelines all the way through and my phantom will not calibrate ..... just flashes orange? also ppm mode does not work.... only D-BUS... i have the new phantom 1.1.1 ..... had it 3 days and not been able to fly so gutted would really appreciate help thanks darryl cornwall uk
Did the upgrade today. Followed every single step in your video and it was all fine until I tried to fly. The Phantom is just skidding on the ground. I can't get enough power to make it take off. I reverted the gain settings back to the standard, No result. I got an error message at one point that my TX was badly calibrated. I did a second calibration within the software and the "hands on" version you show in the video. The error message disappeared but my Phanotm won't take off. Any ideas?
Ok newbie to this up graded firmware, had previously saved zip file for default configure parameters, hit import parameter but cant get file to load ?????
hi. just got the phantom 1.1.1 v updated to 4.02 and did the default parameters if I set it to ppm tx will not work set it to d-bus it works and all readings seem good with no codes showing. gps and compass calibration seems to work fine. is d-bus the right one?
+Drew Garrett You more than likely set the rx type in the software to the wrong setting there are two settings ppm and d-bus try both that's usually the issue
greetings! my problems was that after i connect my phantom to my laptop ( which is i follow as ur procedure) there was no pop out such as upgrade to firmware.. how to solve this problem sir?
I tried upgrading to the v4.0 via the 2.18 software assistant. Now when I plug the battery in to the helicopter it flashes red and green once, then the light goes out completely, and the copter sits there beeping loudly and completely unresponsive to the transmitter. It has only flown once since out of the box, and now no action from it. If feels like a bought a rather expensive stone.
Hiya. I just bought the phantom 2+ and am hapeless with the technical aspects such as firmware update. I dont know anyone in my area that could show me how to update from scratch. Is the Naza settings what comes with my phantom and can you recommend turorial for a complete newbee. Many thanks
i'm not able to calibrate the compass anymore. I did all the steps you did but when i power on the phantom i get a non stop flashing yellow light. Like when you forget to turn on your transmitter before powering up the phantom.
Hi Brian, Thank you for your respond. It is the phantom Tx that I am trying to cal. When I try the D-Bus, there is a RX-ERR. And when I switch back to PPM, the ERROR[29] popup. I try the new phantom Tx, the CFG-ERR window popup. I follow the Tx cal above, the CFG-ERR window still popup. I also link the new Tx with the phantom aircraft. Please help! Thank you.
Thanks for the insanely fast response! I will try your suggestion. Do you think it is trying to flip bec i plugged the motor cables in the wrong order to the Naza? I think i did it right, but just suspicious. Everything else seems all right?!? i did the advanced IMU cali.
After I did this my engines wont work, when I start the Phantom they are noisy but nothing happens, they dont spin, do you know what could have caused this?
Great video, saved me a lot of time and very clear and easy to understand. Just got my phantom so a big learning curve for me having never owned any rc equipment before. Like the phantom but plugging in and unplugging the battery is really a pain in the backside not to mention hard on the fingers, any way to add a switch or easier way to undo these yellow clips?
Great video thanks a lot, the price for dji phantom dramatically decreased on the UK websites from £500 to £350. Which is good though but I am a little bit concerned about the version. It says V1.2 . Can I upgrade it to V4 without problem? Cheers
When i connect my Phantom 1 to my computer and plug the bat in and turn the controller on the software doesn't detect my controller or my drone. The computer detects it because it dings.
After updating everything this morning I took it out for a flight, I set the limit to 10m as I am just learning so wanted to keep to close but when it hit the limits it just stopped and hovered, I was able to control the throttle and rotate but the right stick wouldn't do anything. Once we landed and brought the phantom back to the launch point it worked fine again. I had the switches in GPS and off. I was expecting it to hit the limit and stop and then I could fly in back.
Thank you for your response. Had already seen the video but I was with a doubt about the percentage that should increase. If there is a weight percentage ratio. The parameters increased to 150% without ginbal and I think it looks good but I am noticing a certain inclination on my phantom. Which parameters should I change? I appreciate your help. kind rega
Cheers! Easy to follow, everything sorted. Then I hooked up the fat shark FPV goggles and had problems with the gps. Any info on that to point me in the right direction would be appreciated and rewarded as I've searched everywhere!
thanks man! Works indeed.. Do i change it back to ppm after calibration or not? the reason i'm doing this update is because yesterday, during one of my latenight flights, it almost turned into a disaster.. The phantom whent from left to right and i had lots of trouble controlling it, and keeping it away from trees and windows.. But i also did a battery upgrade, i now have the udjustable carbon landing gear with two battery's. You think it has something to do with my horrorflight yesterday?
To get the motors working, I had to re-calibrate my Tx ensuring I hit all 4 corners on the sticks; not go round and round - so top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. The reason there wasn't enough power for take off was due to being in the wrong flight mode. Ran Rc Assistant and changed to Mode 2. My Phantom now flies again. Having issues now with the gimbal. Works ok when plugged in to Naza but when I power up the Phantom it adopts a heads up attitude and won't respond. Thanks for your kind assistance and hope my woes help other pilots :-) I'll let you know how I get on with fixing the gimbal
Tried all sorts but can't make any headway with the gimbal. Did a test flight under very windy conditions and it's either pointing skywards or looking straight down. Given the strength of the wind the gimbal gave a pretty steady image.
bmdawe I re-calibrated the X1 channel using the RC Assistant software and I now have control over the gimbal. It still needs tweaking a bit as I don't have full movement from TDC to face down, but it's up and running and the difference with the gimbal is awesome. Thanks again for all your help.
Thank you for the great video tutorial. Does the default values have to be loaded when using a Mac to upgrade the firmware? I see on the site that the default config file is only listed under the windows software section.
Hi, I Have Storm Drone 6 GPS equipped with NAZA-M V2 version Firmware 4.0. Is the same upgrading procedure (as you explained in your film) will fit this drone? I had the same control loss problems reaching the flight area limits. Is it because of version 4.0 bugs?
Hey there, upgrading a Phantom to version 4.02 in preparation for a Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal installation. I was wondering after you started your software in this tutorial, and connected the Phantom, did you have your transmitter turned on or connected to the computer somehow? You didnt mention whether to power it on or not, and on habit I simply turned mine on before connecting the battery. I didnt get an automatic upgrade window when I powered on my Phantom. When going to the Upgrade menu, it doesnt show any of my current settings, just asks me to connect my transmitter when I click on the link on the rightmost column. All other info is blank. (Didnt try it the other way with the transmitter off... figured I'd ask a knowledgable source first as I'm more than likely not doing something simple.) Thanks so much for this demo, really looking forward to hearing from you!
bmdawe The software doesn't seem to recognize the Phantom at all. I'm running Windows XP. (Through a virtual machine on a Mac...I haven't heard anything regarding problems using a VM, but it wouldnt surprise me.) In my efforts to remedy the problem, I watched a couple other tutorials along with studying DJI's instructions. (Ugh...) After some more reading up, I wondered if I have to connect my Phantom when I install the driver before running the NAZA assistant software to do the upgrade. Thoughts?
well done and thank you. i did follow your tutorial, but my tx does not work in the ppm mode, only in d-bus. the bird seems to fly fine. what is the difference between ppm and d-bus. did i do something wrong? my phantom is 1.1.1. i upgraded the software and firmware and loaded the defaults. it was after the defaults where i noticed the tx is not recognized in the ppm mode, so i switched it to d-bus - thoughts?
I have added a cheap gimbal I got from amazon and a gopro 2. I also just updated to the latest firmware. What are some good gains to put in? And will everything in this video work on a phantom v1.1.1? Thanks in advance
Evolution RC Hi if you check the end of the video it has a bit on gains you might need to weigh your setup but the gains at the end should give a guide. And yes this will work for a v1.1.1
hey was following through your video, my firmware was already at 4.0.2 but i done the TX calibration and then when i went to do the compass calibration the phantom just flashes oranges indicating no connection to the transmitter...any advice???
bmdawe hey thanks for taking the time to help me, i took it back to the guys we bought it from and they set it all up, calibrated the quad, controller and set up everything properly in nazam. took it for it first flight yesterday without any problems...well landing is tricky!!! haha
Best tutorial on the web! Your time and dedication is very much appreciated. You left Colin Guinn in the dust!!! Needless to say, I will pass your link to all my fellow tinkermen. Greetings from Miami!!
hi, I bought the helicopter last december 2013. when i first fly the fly was great!!!!! then i istalled the new update 1.08 and i have troubles. I can not calibrate any longer, y follow all the items and procedures from tutorials and after the light green, the second step after moving S1 up and down 10 times, the ligh goes normal, en after rotating the helicopter whith the green ligt up i turned 360 degrees and the ligh is flashing yellow and red. in the screen of my cel says NEEDS COMPASS CALIBRATION. I tried a lot of time, following the tutorial with the magnetic item near the compass inthe helicopter, the values in the window of control are; 170 120 160 and mode: 2560. what can i do? the last updates are ok, the RC control and the version 1.08 thanks
I have a problem with my Phantom 2 Vision Plus. My Phantom cannot connect to the computer for the update. Anytime I hook up to update, there is an error message that tells me to Connect to the Controller. Do you have any idea for for how to connect so I can update my firmware? And do you know how to reset the battery because after a full charge, it only runs for about 4-5 minute and lands with a red power signal. I checked the battery life. But the green light says it's still good. I don't know what the problem is with the battery. Please reply soon. Thank you.
Dungtravel Hi have you managed to update your phantom yet? Also with the battery there are loads of videos on youtube on setting up the battery limits I won't go into it here because the over videos nail it th-cam.com/video/FXNHMt2iCOM/w-d-xo.html for example
hi. i have a phantom 2. i took peek inside the body and saw the flight controller. it says phantom on the label. it looks like a naza unit. am i missing something??
Hello, Thanks for the vid. I have changed the 8" prop of Phantom 1 for 9" prop of Phantom 2. What gain do yo recommend? Id línea slow yaw but stability. Thanks a lot
Hello thanks for the information. Do you know where can I get this info about the motor spec? My Phantom weights 1200 grs I don't know the gains. Thanks again.
Hi, soz to be a nuisance, but my phantom fc40 is set on d-bus.....you advise putting it on ppm.....what is the difference and does it matter....Thankyou in advance for any reply...Best regards Bri
there are two versions of the radio one is ppm and the other id d-bus if you have it set wrong not everything works try and change it it wont hurt anything if it doesn't work you can always change it back but 99.99999% of the time it's the problem
Cheers bmdawe. yes you right that is what happens, on the ppm not everything works and on d bus it does. so i placed it on d bus,. and whilst i,m here i,d like to say thankyou very much for showing us how to download the perameters files/settings. I have een struggling with this for weeks lol. now i have at last done a proper firmware 4.0 upgrade and perameters download + got my RC reprogramed and upto speed....Brilliant....I went flying yesterday, and things worked spot on, I had no problem with limits (Touch wood) And for the first time i felt confident. Thankyou , It is really great when someone can be bothered to help others, just for the hell of it.......Ps the only real problem i had understanding parts of your video was when it came to reading details on your pc video shots.....it was,nt until i put the video throgh my 50" tv screen that i could see properly where and what your curser was doing....not a complaint by any means. just a headsup for future screen shots of pc screen, Try and get closer shots/more detailed.....All in All I am a well hapy Fan and viewer. BIG THUMBS UP, GREAT TUTORIAL.
I'm a new owner of the phantom. I have v1.2 and I'm not sure what firm ware I have. My problem is that the assistant software don't recognize my phantom. I plugged in the USB cable first and power the battery but nothing happen. I'm not sure what I do wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks
Hi sir, I bought a new phantom quadcopter. I updated to new naza 4.02 version and after that the status light is blinking yellow rapidly. What should I do ?
Hi Bmdawe, will this work for a Phantom2? only ask as I have done everything shown in the video and I cant even get my Phantom to connect to software! Keeps saying connect to MC, When I do it still says connect to MC! If I open my Phantom2 Assistance software it all works fine! The reason I want to connect to the Naza M is so I can edit the Gimbal controls. Many thanks Any help much appreciated. Dave B
Hi thanks for the video first of all When i try to upload the settings (PHANTOM_Default_Configuration_Parameters win zip) i get an error message saying 'configuration file version does not match', is it because its not unzipped or am i doing something wrong ? thanks
Dave Benson yeah you have to unzip it first you can use WinRAR (google it) or depending upon what operating system you are using you can click the zip and then just drag the file onto your desktop.

Dude, thank you SO much! Just saved me so much headache! I owe my good mood to you! Tonight could have gone much differently.
Outstanding young man. This has been so helpful I can't thank you enough. I did everything you said on this thread and it straightened up my Phantom perfectly. Thank you again and keep up the great work.

This video helped me tremendously! I just bought a Phantom and I don't think the manufactors explained these update and calibration parts very well.
Nice clear video.
Might be worth adding a note at the end of adjusting the gains that when the values are in red, the settings have not yet been written to the Naza.

#Salute
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Step by step instructions are very helpful. Much appreciated
Jim
Thank you so much i was searching for an error and with your video i fix everything
Fantastic job with this video. Absolutely the best tutorial I've ever seen. thank you.
Cheers Mate!! And here i thought I was just crappy at this. But NOOO. I'm just lousy at finding direction never-mind reading the directions Now I can start using it with the gopro. Keep up the good work!!
Excellent video! The information presented has saved me a lot of frustration. Thank you!
Just wanted to say thanks for the help, great video was really clear and easy to follow....
Any suggestion ?
how you liking the phantom so far?
hey thanks for the video. one question. my Receiver type got changed to d-bus. is that a big deal? it works fine so far.
Thanks very much FlyBoy! I'm from Uruguay, i purchased a Phantom 1, i'm in a blog of drones in Uruguay, i asked them for this topic an nobody helpme, i'll do the upgrade, very well explained, clear like a cristal, regards!
Hi Brian,
Just upgraded my second Phantom (First one dumped me,and flew off complete with FPV gear etc) to 4.02 and noticed it said something about the Default configuration parameters not matching, can't remember exactly but carried on with update and it flies ok. Any thoughts about what the message meant? They were the D.C.P. Showing, on the page at the time.
Regards, and thanks again,
Willie.
Thanks.
i have an quadcopter v2 some strange reason the camra does not work" however the wifi signal is conected when i go into the app on my phone and open it up" thers a message saying
cannect to phanthom 2 vision failed" thers no satelite signal or camra or battry only wifi any idea???
Regarding caliberation of TX,is it the same procedure for none spring throttel stick?Nice video info. Thanks
Excellent this is the best explained video i'v seen on TH-cam about the DJI Phantom thank you so much!!! subscribed !!
Hi do you know if the gopro Wi-Fi when it is on sending video to my iphone will it interfere with my tx signal I have dji phantom v1.1.1 thanks.
Your compas was first showing mod values around 300. Thats my case and I cant get it calibrated! How did you manage to bring it to the 16 hundreds?
hi bud i followed your guidelines all the way through and my phantom will not calibrate ..... just flashes orange? also ppm mode does not work.... only D-BUS... i have the new phantom 1.1.1 ..... had it 3 days and not been able to fly so gutted would really appreciate help thanks

I did the firmware upgrade, now my drone will not calibrate. Constant blinking yellow light. I have tried everything to get it to go solid.
+Drew Garrett You more than likely set the rx type in the software to the wrong setting there are two settings ppm and d-bus try both that's usually the issue
@@bmdawe Could you explain what both mean ?
greetings! my problems was that after i connect my phantom to my laptop ( which is i follow as ur procedure) there was no pop out such as upgrade to firmware.. how to solve this problem sir?
I just want clarification , is this procedure for the Phantom 2 also ? Thanks
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your respond.
What should I do to keep my dji phantom stable when it heavier? added a ginbal another landing ...
Very well explained video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Brian, for promptly response. I'll check out your old 3.16 video and let you know.
only the best vid ive seen on these subjects..........thanks heaps "bmdawe"
Thanks for your kind assistance and hope my woes help other pilots :-)
I'll let you know how I get on with fixing the gimbal
Now got the gimbal working, well sort of. It has two positions. - face down and just above TDC. I'm hoping if I tweak the pot I might get it to TDC.
Thank you. I followed your video. It works (of course)
Great Video I was completely lost at firmware update and you help me through it. I will test Phantom now. Thanks
For some reason my controller got un paired with the phantom after i calibrated it.. What should I do please help!!!!!!!!!
(Didnt try it the other way with the transmitter off... figured I'd ask a knowledgable source first as I'm more than likely not doing something simple.) Thanks so much for this demo, really looking forward to hearing from you!
bmdawe
The software doesn't seem to recognize the Phantom at all.
Hi, will updating to the latest 4.02 firmware be exactly the same procedure? Thanks again.
what was it like flying with those gains ?? vid?
hey was following through your video, my firmware was already at 4.0.2 but i done the TX calibration and then when i went to do the compass calibration the phantom just flashes oranges indicating no connection to the transmitter...any advice???
bmdawe ah ok thanks, i had swapped from D-Sub to PPM since you said that setting was fine i assumed thats the one i should be using too!!! haha
bmdawe
awesome thanks!!!
bmdawe
changed back to D-sub and i'm still getting orange flashing!!!
bmdawe
hey thanks for taking the time to help me, i took it back to the guys we bought it from and they set it all up, calibrated the quad, controller and set up everything properly in nazam. took it for it first flight yesterday without any problems...well landing is tricky!!! haha
+cerberusbrig Any idea what they did? I have the yellow blinking light with no controller showing as connected to the drone :(
Best tutorial on the web! Your time and dedication is very much appreciated.
You left Colin Guinn in the dust!!!
Needless to say, I will pass your link to all my fellow tinkermen.
Greetings from Miami!!
Thank You, Kindly!! this video is a big help!
hi, I bought the helicopter last december 2013. when i first fly the fly was great!!!!!
then i istalled the new update 1.08 and i have troubles.
I tried a lot of time, following the tutorial with the magnetic item near the compass inthe helicopter, the values in the window of control are; 170 120 160 and mode: 2560.
what can i do? the last updates are ok, the RC control and the version 1.08
thanks
bmdawe thanks, today i could calibrate but tomorrow i will tray again to be sure. thanks a lot!!!
Can't thank you enough for this video, made it all so clear.
Hi . yes I did thank you
hi. i have a phantom 2. i took peek inside the body and saw the flight controller. it says phantom on the label. it looks like a naza unit. am i missing something??
I could try loading the naza pc drivers and see what happens
Great clear concise explanations - Thanks!
Hi thanks for the video but what is inh in the gain settings
X1 don't work in my Tx. Naza software no movement and calibration does not work.
What can be the problem?
Thank you.
the solution was to update the software tx.
Sir but it works fine in D-Bus mode . But in ppm mode it doesn't work. all I get is flashing yellow light
Thank you so much sir.but can u tell me what is the difference between D-bus vs ppm.
Thanks again sir
Hi Bmdawe, will this work for a Phantom2? only ask as I have done everything shown in the video and I cant even get my Phantom to connect to software! Keeps saying connect to MC, When I do it still says connect to MC! If I open my Phantom2 Assistance software it all works fine! The reason I want to connect to the Naza M is so I can edit the Gimbal controls. Many thanks
Any help much appreciated.
Dave B
That's brill, many thanks for your thoughts.
On the pc win7. And the phantom is up to date with its latest firmware.
whats the major difference between v1.2 and v.20 then?
Hi thanks for the video first of all
When i try to upload the settings (PHANTOM_Default_Configuration_Parameters win zip) i get an error message saying 'configuration file version does not match',
is it because its not unzipped or am i doing something wrong ? thanks
Dave Benson yeah you have to unzip it first you can use WinRAR (google it) or depending upon what operating system you are using you can click the zip and then just drag the file onto your desktop.
