This video shows how to change the hydraulic filters on an excavator, CAT 314E. This is a generic maintenance procedure that can be used for most other excavator makes and models as well, such as John Deere, Komatsu, Hitachi, and Volvo. Always remember to vent the hydraulic tank first to avoid a pressurized oil spill, and consult your manufacturer specs to make sure you purchase the correct filter sizes.

Your work is good
I like your videos, however on this one, one thing got me. Remove the cap to the tank to remove any pressure, then put it back on. You left it off moving bolts over it, dropping a bolt into the tank could happen.
Instead of taking the snap ring off , he should've rotate the filter 180° and remove the whole canister out. That way you are not releasing any dirt out. That's the right way.

You have to take the snap ring off then turn 180 degrees
Need to rotate the whole cannister 180 degrees, then remove the entire cannister and THEN change the filter and drain the dirty oil. Doing it this way keeps all the dirty oil in the tank.
chromes on an impact this guy is a savage
Don't let snap one see it lol
H thanks for the video. My Hitachi UH061 has a strange round smaller cap on the top of the suction filter - feels like rubber - it’s under the fluid level. I haven’t figured out how to remove it. Any ideas?

That's not the correct way to change the Hydraulic filter. You just dumped dirty oil into the tank line. There are directions on that handle on how to do it right.

Hi sir. 1st thnx. Ur video is very useful. But 1 time u did mistake. U r open hydrolic tank cover. Remove gas but u not fix cover and remove bolt. Any bolt slip ur hand and drop in tank after to much prblm.

Which country you are working
What is the make of the Impact wrench
Snap-on
Loosen the cap, don’t remove it. Don’t want to accidentally drop a bolt down there. Ask me how I know about that.
