  • This is my second 2022 Winnebago View 24D review. I have driven it over 4,000 miles and stayed on and off-grid and been in many different weather and driving conditions and thought I would share what I like, don't like and suggest for the View, either for new buyers or the manufacturer. I am happy to answer questions about the unit, my experience in buying, driving and maintaining the unit for you.

Great review Jeff! Thank you. Just sharing a few tips that work for me.
    Quick tips:
    - Door: Use a bungee cord to stop door from flapping if windy. Clip it on the door handle & dog lease located under passenger door.
    - Bathroom Door: Cut a small piece of pool noodle; then slice one side of it & slide between bathroom door panel & wall to stop rattle. It works so well! This would replace the tissue & foam you installed.
    - Kitchen Sink Hose: Cut a small piece of pool noodle; then slice one side of it to wrap around faucet hose to stop the knocking while driving. A container underneath the sink to hold your contents also stops the hose from knocking on wall. The pool noodle works wonders for rattles ;)
    - Window Shade Near Table: Use velcro command strips on wall & main shade to stop it from knocking while driving.
    - Frig..: Pool noodles help to keep frig. open during winterization or non use.
    😎

Thanks Jeff! Practical fixes for little things the designers overlook. My wife and I are looking at the 24D but I have two major hang ups: 1. The genset and exhaust are on the wrong side of the coach. Really bad planning. The patio side of the coach should not be polluted with genset exhaust and noise. 2. The cargo doors should swing out as opposed to lifting up for easier access. Other than those complaints and the issues you brought up, it seems to be a nice rig. Unfortunately the location of the genset and the lift up doors will push us to another brand. Dynamax Isata 3 seems to be the choice for us at the moment. Unless Winnebago makes some common sense changes. Thanks Jeff! Happy motoring!

When we shopped for a small motorhome for fulltime use 8 years ago we studied the Navion/View (a fine RV) but opted for a slightly different Winnebago product, the Via/Reyo. 25'5", Mercedes Sprinter chassis, turbo-diesel engine, with better storage outside and inside, a similar long slide, power Flexsteel seats (no silly butt cushion riser), similarly modest CCC, same 14-15mpg towing a small car. Ours is a 2011 Itasca Reyo 25R (open floor plan and rear bath like yours), now with 105k miles. The Via/Reyo is no longer made but a great buy used. While no RV is perfect, the 25R layout utilizes space better than any other small motorhome we've encountered, allowing upgrades like a 43" TV, a 1.5 cu ft microwave/convection/air fryer oven and a larger coil spring mattress. No we're not selling ours!

Nailed it. That faucet counter weight is heavy and makes a lot of noise. Not sure that it's even necessary at all. For the sliding door to the bathroom, try to find a piano tuner supply. They have these awesome, triangular, rubber wedges of all kinds of sizes. That's what I've got wedged in our sliding door. But, yes, that sliding door is a ba-had design.

In bathroom door go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get self sticking felt pads and stick on both sides of door.
Check your roof frequently and make sure no cracks in caulking, etc. Make sure all screws are also caulked.

I'm surprised that in 2021, they have not found a better way to seal the roof other than gobs & gobs of self-leveling caulk that might be applied well or not. The person who did ours cleaned the gun on the cab over paint.

We have had our 08 View for 16 years with very few problems. We are however considering it may be time to up date to a "D" but not sure if we should after reading many reviews. Three things we are finding we would like to change: a) the bed in our"J" is hard to climb in to or out of as we age out. b)We would love to get rid of the shag carpet (no one does that kind of work it seems) and )c) get a power awning. Not sure these three warrant the well over $100K difference. The unit has 50K miles and still runs incredibly well (with no DEF).

@@brianharrison3978 My $0.02. We removed our shag right away. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, there are usually independents who will do it. Consider looking for mobile RV repair. Or really any good handyman. I have an electric awning and almost wish I'd had a manual one. It got stuck once and I had to go to some effort to crank it in by hand. Plus we seldom use it. We had a similar access problem with our bed. Our older camper wasn't a problem, but the View has a higher bed with a less stable ladder and less room. So we use the 'downstairs' bedroom and the grandkids love their 'fort' above us.

The issues I mention are not issues you would find while driving it...they are usage issues and seem to only pop up over time. The unit is very nice but I am disappointed in finding a lot of "little things" that for this price range should not happen.

So sorry, it seems like you have many dislikes. Too have paid all that money, there shouldn't be any issues. I would bring my complaints to them. This is why I'm watching many many true reviews.

Can’t say I’d accept the cheap build quality and poor engineering in anything I’d buy - let alone a motor home.
