I haven't cut anything on my beard in 8 months and don't plan to until after 12. At that point I'll probably get a professional to do the first trim. After that, when I work through my hesitation in doing it myself, I'll come back to this video. It's very methodical. I love it!
@@malik32345 I never gained enough courage to do it myself. After 12 months of no trimming I found a barber to trim my beard. I really loved how she trimmed it. Plus, the difference of going from no trimming for a year to something done really good was so dramatic that quite honestly I couldn't stop looking at my beard when I got in front of a mirror. I loved it! The vanity part slowly faded but since the trim was only $10 plus a tip, I just put it in the budget. Now I go once a month and get a professional trim. Sorry, Greg. 😛
I am russian and surprisingly it is impossible to find good content about long male haircuts and beards i my native language. I have decided to grow long hair but thankful to your channel i have understood that it is possible to have beautiful beard too! I have bald areas in my beard and now I understood, that I can just cover them up by lenght... I couldn't have guessed before and now it seems obvious! Thank you for your content!
Good video! I think for people like me with rough slightly curly/wavy beards it can be a bit more tricky though. I would need to use a hairdryer to show my true length and cut it then, but the next day it might look off or shorter than I had in mind because that's not how my beard sits all the time and I'm not comfortable using heat every day. Cutting it without showing the true length can equally be bad because you're not really sure how much you take off. I guess it all comes down to experience. I messed up enough times to avoid the things that doesn't work for me haha
Greg's hair and beard maintainance advices are always a great help! For the past 2 months i've been trying to learn how to trim my facial hair properly and it looks like i've just hit the sweet spot and discovered just the right length for me. Cheers to y'all, keep up the great work! ✊
Greg looking younger and younger with every passing day. I wish I can stay happy and healthy like him in my old age. You've been a huge inspiration to me for growing out my hair and beard. Also thanks to Beardbrand team for bringing awesome content like this.
Thank Greg! I tried the scissors technique the other day and I felt like I had more control than using a trimmer. It now looks sharper in a natural way! Appreciate your content and advice.
im 19 And And I Have Patchy Beard And I Can Rock A Stubble, Van Dyke, The Classic Goatee, Not Circle Beard And A Big Moustache Like Chevron This Channel Helped Me A Lot of Thanks!
Little bit of advice for my fellow walrus’s out there never cut that moustache even if you enjoy a greasy oily burger, carry a boar bristle brush and pull it to each side of your face and always carry a straw for your drinks😁
Great job supporting the bearded lifestyle by building a solid positive community. I get frequent compliments on my beard and I always drop your guys name. Had a few at my workplace actually refer to me as that ship station guy cause apparently I look a bit like Eric? I will say in regards to this vid, I go trimmer for my trimming instead of scissors. I got a more curly beard and I don't use a blow dryer so it's more so hedge trimming a bit but have been able to get great results. Scissors is for the mustache
Emulsifying is taking, say an oil and another liquid like water which will usually not mix and combining them into a new substance where they are combined forever. I worked once running an emulsifier. A giant tank with steam jets and an an insanely fast mixer that spun so quickly it screamed like a jet engine. All this to make cosmetics. I don’t know what melting something POSSIBLY previously emulsified in your hands is but what it is NOT is emulsification. Having said all this …loved this video. A real keeper for future reference.
ME TOO! IT WAS CRAZY!! I don't remember everything but at one point i remember i suddenly became old and had a beard Gandalf-style. While panicking i met Greg, and looking at my beard and shaking his head he said "that ain't how you do it!" and then just disappeared. WHAT???
Greg you absolute legend. Great tips and advice as always. Old Money Utility Balm and Oil have become part of my go to daily routine. Keep up the excellence my friend 👏
funny currently i'm kindof doing pretty much 100% the same goal/evaluation/ look of the beard at 1 inch or so i do start with like a #8 guard to even out some areas then the same thing i gotta try to cut inside below the neck better perhaps and edge near the jaw. i had like 3 inches almost for 4 years but as i've been losing weight changing the look going for 1 inch
growing my first beard but the hair on my jawline grows with the jawline and near the end it even grows upwards to my ear ... is this normal and if i let it grow longer will it be able to grow down? 7 weeks in
Hey Greg need some advice. I have a LOT of split ends in my beard. I use beard oil, if a cut it short and lets say remove all of the split ends, they will come back. Dosent matter what I do.
Im not black, yet my beard is super curly and puffy. Its such a pain in the ass to make it straight so i just comb it, use oil and or balm and just shape it. I spent money on heated combs, blowers etc but nothing has worked to straighten my bears puffiness.
Step 2 evaluation is my favourite part. I'm trying to ignore the trimming and shaping cos one can get too obsessed with trying to get there beard too perfect and ruin it
@@BeardbrandAlliance Same thought entered my mind when I saw the longer hair. I was like, "Wait, I could've sworn Greg got his haircut not too long ago".
if you don't have a very thin beard you can use clippers to low the length of the beard very easily, then line up te cheeks and neck, i literrally made a guide to clean my cheeks with a piece of plastic and a pair of scissors
hey for one i thought Greg went for a croped textured fringe not long ago.. and in the intro when his beard is messy it looked cool almost i want such a messy beard lol.
Anyone have trouble trimming upside-down horns coming out of corners of chin. Mine curls towards the middle seems the middle stops growing or grow slowly. Try to go for the long gated beard look.have trouble trimming hair under jaw to get even length.

So true! I recently trimmed mine and it’s more annoying then just letting it go.
You mean let out grow down over lips? Or you mean the sides?

Scissors are always the safe way to go. So many guys ruin their beards trying to trim with clippers.

I have destroyed my beard twice by trying to trim it myself. I have respect for my bearded brothers that can.
