The Tsk beat sampled barabas by hooverphonic. I’m surprised that this is the first time I’ve heard a hip hop producer sampled them. Their first 3 albums feel like a treasure chest for anyone looking for good loops.
Yeah I feel you. I think rapper on magic 2 was fine but I was just saying in another comment how it feels like the beats on magic 2 was joints that got cut from kd 3. This joint did the trilogy…and honestly the whole run, Justice
@BSideRapReviews Word he def did get in his pocket on quite a few joints like office hours, motion, what it all really means etc.. I like the project more than most. In fact, it is only aging better and I think in due time it will be appreciated more. But for now Nas didn't even let it breathe for two months before dropping this gem lol.
Great reaction bro. Fully agree with most your takes. Nas brought his A game and the soulful production and the drums from Hit was perfect for Nas. Agreed a a couple perhaps weren’t executed too well but I mess with pretty young girl. Feel Nas was trying a bit of an old school flow and style on that.
Best of the series imo. Its crazy how every album got better then the last besides Magic 2 which was still fire but a dropoff from kd3. Congrats to Nas and Hitboy.
I ain’t mad at that take at all. I think I slightly weigh lyrics more than production and I think the rapping on magic 1 was so elite. I got magic 1 then 3. I thought magic 2 was pretty good but production sounded like experiments from kd 3 that didn’t make the cut lol
Thank you for this bro. Nas is definitely one of if not the best to do it. One of the few consistent artists and seems to get better with time. Honored to be a part of this.
The Heinz/Hines bar is a dual meaning of Ketchup/Catch Up and Hines Ward (Ex all-star Wide Receiver for the SteelersProbably still corny but I had to try😂. Another great review! The break downs both lyrically and beat wise by you is too good bro 🙌🏾
Facts! Bro believe it or not I actually liked Nas rapping on magic 2 a lil bit better overall but maaaan the highs on this album are so tuff. Elite pen plus the story telling 🔥🔥🔥
Broo I hand no idea 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 they honestly shoulda went to him in the first place lol. I wish I could unhear this album and hear it for the first time on the big ghost beats 😂
@@BSideRapReviews it’s looking like it’ll be his take on the chronic beats so should be interesting the snippet sounded good so far. It’s called the Ghronic and it’s a bandcamp exclusive
Was waiting for your reaction and I mostly agree with your take. This was a soulful and personal album that I enjoyed throughout. Good cap to the run but still behind KD3/2 and Magic 1 for me.
Me or Nas? I’m playing 😂 yeah bro he already had the best discography in rap before this run with hit. Matter fact you can prob split Nas discog in half and both half’s would prob be around top 5. So throwing the hit run on top of a center Ed legacy is crazy
Even tho I really liked Magic 2 I feel like some of the tracks were B sides from the KD3 sessions. This one on the other hand... my God. What a way to close out one of the best runs in Hip-Hop history.
I feel the same way! They could easily called this joint KD4 with how grand the project felt, and this is also right up their with KD3 as far as Hitboys best production in the series (and Hit’s whole career honestly). Excellent way to close the series for sure. I will say, this run is unprecedented, but I wouldn’t go as far as say it’s one of the best in hip hop history. Unprecedented, in the quantity and quality this late in a legendary career (black thought comes closest but even he ain’t putting out the quantity). But I wouldn’t put this up there what I consider truly the best runs in hop hop like Souternplayalistic to Stankonia, college, dropout to dark fantasy, GKMC to Mr Moral, run the jewels 1 to 4, etc. It’s still amazing but that’s my take
I definitely wasn't feeling this as much as KD3, Magic, or KD2, but it was a definite step up from Magic 2. If this is the end for Nas and Hitboy making albums together, I'm really excited to see where they both go from here. The highlight of this album for me was definitely Based on true events 1 and 2
IMO, KD3 and Magic 3 is a pickem, both are on the same level. I love how each project, with the exception of Magic 2, was better than the album directly before it. Anyway: M3 > KD3 > M2 > M1 > KD2 > KD1

My guy they bout to jump you like Eminem in 8 mile in the comments 😂 I ain’t peep the ransom joint yet (listening/reacting today). That’s very hard to believe but if it’s true ima spinning back and I got yo back 😭😭😭

Nas actually has his own Hennessy, which is called HenNASsy. So that’s why he pronounced it that way
Yes sir. I have 2 of those Hip-Hop 50th HenNaSsey bottles as collectibles.
Lit 🔥
Nas has his own custom bottle of Hennessy called Hennassy, he also have a partnership with Hennessy

Nas is just wow 😢
I love that Nas takes chances with his music. Classic shit.
Fire album. Seems obvious to me that they were saving songs for the finale. Makes Magic 2 a bit of a collection of throwaways almost.
Yeah I feel you. I think rapper on magic 2 was fine but I was just saying in another comment how it feels like the beats on magic 2 was joints that got cut from kd 3.

The beat switch to the horns on Japanese Soul Bar is beautiful man
Bro made Magic² feel like the middle child in the worst way possible 😂
Lol in his defense, I thought he rapped extremely well on magic 2 but you right - that’s the black sheep of the series 😂

I love magic 2. 🤷🏿♂️
The song slow it down was the whole set up from M2 to M3. He orchestrated sht perfectly. 🔥🔥🔥
Magic 2 has alot of great songs
This plays like he's watching a play of himself
Ay bro this comment is poetic lol! But for real - even more so than all the other joints in this 6 album run!
💯💯💯
Wow! You hit it on the head. Absolutely 💯
This is a great observation
This album was a Masterpiece.

Man, this album is BEAUTIFUL!!! Superhero Status is by far my favorite. Has that 90s Boom Bap feel to it.

NaS true King! 🔥🎩🪄🔮✨️🎱🛋👑 🔥
KD3>Magic3>Magic>KD2>Magic2>KD1
Oh yeah this ranking Tuff Fasho. If you swap magic 1 and 3, it would be be my exact order
Love your perspective. Subscribed!

Happy they closed on this record, magic 2 was underwhelming to me and this was such a great album.
Very well detailed review. You get a pass for not recognizing what "LI" was for a few seconds. Lol!

Wayne ate nas on that track
If you think that, Nas bars went way over your head. Wayne had the flow n punches like usual but, listen and dissect Nas verse. 🤷🏿♂️
