The solar panels cannot be in shade. Must be in full sun and angled direct at it. Lithium batteries will not charge below freezing. Almost all power banks will shut down the charging as not to damage batteries. You should keep batteries relatively warm
It was early morning, the sun had not got fully above the trees yet. I do not know much about solar but I am not that stupid. Lol. The batteries will not charge below 32 is correct but they will discharge until -4 Fahrenheit. What I did worked very well. By 3 in the afternoon that battery was charged by solar back to 100%.
I had good look on a diesent looking mule buck and female. I have the drafts for both of them. Mayne tomorrow 😊 a nice whitetail buck would be great as well. Wish me luck. 😊😊
That surging your snowblower, engine is doing indicates you’ve got a plugged jet in your carburetor, probably only partially. Depending on what kind of carburetor you got how to proceed may be different but if you have a bowl and you have a not in the bottom of it, which may also be a jet, you can pull that off and see what’s in your bowl, probably some water.
Joe- I noticed that ll of the wood stcked alongside the shed is gone. I noticed that you are well into the shed as well, and , I wondered "where IS that guy with Joe's 12 cord? (but, in a first time ever event, I decided to keep watching, to see what you would say BEFORE I asked. I really hope he comes through for you, but, he is not doing you and favors, that's for sure. Any one of us knows full well, you are a PLANNER and a DOER. This guy has pretty much wrecked plans of getting a good stock of wood cut up before the snow really flies. I am sure you are aware of that, and working on what to do next. As always, thanks for sharing.
I am still waiting. Twice in the last week he has said he was going to bring the first 4 cord load over the next day and he never showed. I do have an additional 12 cord that is not cut up yet that will be delivered yet this year also. I ordered this second 12 cord from the guy I got wood from late last fall.
Aim your panels due South (not magnetic south) with the proper tilt angle for your location. Makes a huge difference in panel output. If you are using a PWM charge controller, swap in a MPPT charge controller instead. Build a insulated battery box to keep the battery bank above freezing. On cloudy days you can run a gas generator for 1 hour to top off your batteries.
I can't wait til you get the guest house finished. Its going to look really nice. Great video Joe!!!!! I hope you and Melissa and your whole family had a great Thanksgiving 😊❤. Tyfs God bless you
Thanks for sharing Joe and Melissa, you got a lot done on the guest house heating system. Once the registers are in and the heat regulated will like to hear how the sound is then. Hope you all had a great thanksgiving day Friday. I know you all know how to put on a great feast for everyone. Hope you got your load of wood and can set back this weekend some. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred.
I did the same thing...on the basmt furnace...couldnt get a custom metal plenum..its been in constant winter use for approx 10 yrs..still works fine...OH WELL
Joe has more barns and less storage space than anyone I've ever seen! He needs to build a 40'x100' pole barn over the wood boiler to park his tractor, the fish house, the fifth wheel camper and his pickups in to get them out of the weather.
Ya, you’re right about the comments about no metal ductwork! Should have put out a feeler for tin knockers. I would have had that done in the same amount of time, but in metal. I would have traded for maple syrup and a spot to plug my camper in to sleep.
I find wrestling with belts on equipment to be the biggest challenge. It’s never the same and never easy to remove. Good job on that one- you made it look easy..👍🏻
I just giggle when you have to work on small engine stuff, I guess with anything in life you have to learn some how.. Oh boy,the guest house is being worked on.. Stay safe and have a great day.👍🤓👍🤓.Randy.
I must admit that's a pretty good idea but instead of being tin knocker now you're being a wood knocker hope you had a good Thanksgiving sounds like you guys are a busy couple
Was already thinking about the comments you were gonna get and still will get ! lol. Much better idea using that as a template that you know will line up! Take care Joe
You can still make your own metal chase. Buy some sheet metal and aluminum corners (HD carries both) I bet Menards carries it so there is no need to have a bender.
I’m excited to see Melissa’s ceramic room! Looks like your storage areas need some TLC/organizing and cleaning! Line is so much easier when the STUFF is organized
Canned goods when they are not rusted or bulging from being frozen etc can easily last 5 to 10 years past the use by date. I watched a show on TV about a month ago and they said if the can is in good shape it will still be good 20 years later.
I was noticing that the guesthouse furnace was really loud. Did it seem quieter after you installed the ductwork? Will it be quieter after you get the metal duct installed?
2 times when it is cold. I usually do it 2 times always but when it is only getting down to the single digits at night and getting to the upper 20s during the day, you can easily do a 24 hour burn.
That’s quite a distance from the house to the boiler, and I don’t know what all else you might be running with it, but I’m wondering how much distance affects efficiency, or how much loss you have in the distance of lines?
We have 3 runs of lines, one to the house (120 feet) and one to the guesthouse (about 100 feet) and one to the workshop (120 feet). The insulated lines they use are rated to lose 1 half a degree per 100 feet. Some people have the boiler 500 feet from their house and say they have little heat loss.
Joe, are you not polishing rocks this year? I could have sworn you always started it right before you start getting snow. Because I remember you rinsing them off outside with snow in the ground.
Yeah, Joe said Sarah and Zach will be there for the final weekend. We finally get to hear "Sarah, it's 4:30. Time to wake up." And if we're REALLY lucky, Sarah will eat a can of plums! She hasn't done it for the past couple of years.
There is more than one adult on the property and Melissa goes to work every day. She also goes to visit her family down south. How does one do that with only vehicle? Joe kept his old one for doing rough snow riding as the snow roads are very damaging to vehicle bodies. I think that was thinking smart.
I have owned many different brands and I am 100% happy with Husqvarna. They have been the best brand name mowers I have ever had hands down. The worst I ever had was cub cadet. Total piece of crap, and we bought it brand new. Years ago I really liked the sears brand but they went to shit also.
Are there any return ducts with the filters to protect the heating coil’s from getting plugged with sheet rock and wood dust? The coils are made with a small amount of oil for assembly and will trap a lot dust. Hard to get off for.
That new woodshed by the stove was the best idea ever Joe. Keep working smarter not harder.😊😊
Great video 🎉
My dad is a retired builder. He has some of the most colorful language you've ever heard. He even shocks himself from time to time...

Ones I've seen they will charge in the shade they just wont charge as fast as they will in full sun.
Amazing everything always fits perfectly for Joe
When your good your good.!
Had a shop teacher that said, place for every tool and every tool in its place!! Works every time.
He has a lot of stuff👀👀
You sir have a lot of stuff .😁
Great tradesman work

Joe, I am a half ass wood worker but still a fair mechanic. Wish we lived closer so we could swap labor.

I am shocked that there isn’t any snow on the ground up there , it’s the end of November 😮
It can wait a little longer, I am 2 hours south of him
I'm north of him and me too.
Your collection of stuff is amazing. Three buildings full. You are for sure prepared. Guesthouse is coming along.for the future guests. Awesome.
You should hang a sign on the wood duct saying "TEMPORARY " !
Always look forward to your videos!
That temp air duct turned out great, you are talented for sure good sir!
You are such a hard worker….love watching you build and create your projects!

It’s kind of nice that we don’t have the snow yet, I am not missing it yet down here in Isanti
Great idea joe joe utilize every b t u
More puppy time please. We had a flash but we want more.
Loved the video
Love your videos. Been watching for years. Just trying to help.
Joe you are awesome
Hey Joe the guess house is really looking nice! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
awesome work Joe!
Joe, you do great work. You are skilled and talented.
Joe has more barns and less storage space than anyone I've ever seen! He needs to build a 40'x100' pole barn over the wood boiler to park his tractor, the fish house, the fifth wheel camper and his pickups in to get them out of the weather.
My sentiments exactly
I felt your pain. Well done.
Well done joe with the heat project
Thanks Joe! Always enjoy your videos
That was remarkable.
Temporary turns into permanent!! When I got married I thought it was temporary but dam same girl 41 years later!!!
Ya, you’re right about the comments about no metal ductwork! Should have put out a feeler for tin knockers. I would have had that done in the same amount of time, but in metal. I would have traded for maple syrup and a spot to plug my camper in to sleep.
Nice job Joe. That will work just fine. Be nice to see that place come together.
2 part foam ur planum in the attic . And ur top plates . Before you blow insulation . You will be very happy with the results
I have been building houses for 40 years, what I am doing will be just fine.
I don't look at Northern Seclusion until late late because when Joe gets through I am tired. Need rest. Lol.
LOL, I know what you mean.
Thanks for another fun video. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
I find wrestling with belts on equipment to be the biggest challenge. It’s never the same and never easy to remove. Good job on that one- you made it look easy..👍🏻
Hey Joe was just thinking about why your not getting deers at the tent. There cutting to much trees.
Put tubes in those snowblower tires. Only way to go!
Happy Thanksgiving old friend
"old friend"?? 🤔
Speak for yourself! 😂🤪
I just giggle when you have to work on small engine stuff, I guess with anything in life you have to learn some how.. Oh boy,the guest house is being worked on.. Stay safe and have a great day.👍🤓👍🤓.Randy.

nice work on the Duct work. coming along nicely.
Great to hear you're going solar! 👍 😎🇨🇦🌞
Big job those SnowBlowers......but wait! One just started!
Two more for the "You're gonna be so glad you did that" list: that wood shed, and that air plenum. Old Man Winter is just about to hit us all!
PS: You can install balance dampers that you can adjust to control the flow through each branch duct.
Always great to be prepared for our cold and snow.
Great temp air duct work idea! Looking fwd to deer season last week!
If you put dampers in the 6" metal outlets you can balance the runs.
Good job Joe
Good luck with the comments...
You're making a dent in that wood shed. Take care.
Was already thinking about the comments you were gonna get and still will get ! lol. Much better idea using that as a template that you know will line up! Take care Joe
I did something similar a few years ago on a budget 4 metal studs and some metal roofing saved a couple hundred $
when will Melissa’s studio be completed? thought her studio was #1 priority
Sounds like the hunters in Minnesota need to petition the dnr to start a wolf season.
You can still make your own metal chase. Buy some sheet metal and aluminum corners (HD carries both) I bet Menards carries it so there is no need to have a bender.
You make more work for yourself than anyone I have ever met........
Make a duct board plenum
Looking good Joe! The guest house is going to be sweet! Great job!
I’m excited to see Melissa’s ceramic room! Looks like your storage areas need some TLC/organizing and cleaning! Line is so much easier when the STUFF is organized
Are there any expiration dates on any of those? Lol, you have alot of can goods. Just asking.
It is no louder than any other furnace, that camera really picks up sound. That furnace is quieter than the one we have in the main house.
Joe have you ever thought of donating your tent unused vegetables to the Salvation Army etc to help feed the homeless?
Another great video, is there anything you can't do Joe?
Great video Joe. How many times a day do you have to fill the wood boiler with wood??
2 times when it is cold. I usually do it 2 times always but when it is only getting down to the single digits at night and getting to the upper 20s during the day, you can easily do a 24 hour burn.

Making Progress ..... we would have done the mechanical work before the Sheet-rock ….everybody does project differently.

When will the Bed & Breakfast be open? Considering all the breakfast for lunch and breakfast for dinner that you serve, it will be a real bargain!
Take two steak and two biscuits and potatoes please 😀😀
I know how frustrating construction projects can be. And I am just an amateur. I know as I get older my frustration level meter gets worse.
Are you still getting a load of 3 foot long logs? I know you mentioned it before but I have not seen it.
You just answered my question. Thanks.
Joe did you ever get that next load of wood?
Joe it's ashame the wolves have ruined yall deer hunting!
I lost track!! Do we have one more deer hunting video coming??
Yeah, Joe said Sarah and Zach will be there for the final weekend. We finally get to hear "Sarah, it's 4:30. Time to wake up." And if we're REALLY lucky, Sarah will eat a can of plums! She hasn't done it for the past couple of years.

Thanks for the reply!!! Have a great weekend
I remember sourdough was all the rage in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
Hey Joe, I'm sure you've been asked this before but, how come you haven't built something like the guest house at the tent property?
I wonder if it might be wise to put a ROPS on that little cart
Snow blower needs the carburetor cleaned. It's running poorly.
Where did you get that fancy tool kit from?
Hey Joe, Any chance you have a link to the tool set?
Email me Jeff and I will look that up for you. homeandcabininc@outlook.com
I found it Jeff. amzn.to/3PRF9hk
lolol antisieze is your friend on the wheels. and old gas is not your friend on those
How many trucks do you guys own?
I own 1 truck not 5 and it does all the chores and jobs I have.
It was more so a joke because he has at least 3 or more of everything .

@@shawnmiller8349Except for a sawbuck for his 40 cords of wood he cuts near the ground bent over...
what language do you cuss in?
Joe you could not pay me 500 hundred every week to own a Husqvarna mower anything Husqvarna.. lol
I have owned many different brands and I am 100% happy with Husqvarna. They have been the best brand name mowers I have ever had hands down. The worst I ever had was cub cadet. Total piece of crap, and we bought it brand new. Years ago I really liked the sears brand but they went to shit also.
Prediction: That wood is perfectly safe for the temperature of air going through. Wood is a better insulator than metal. No need to change it out. :)
Are there any return ducts with the filters to protect the heating coil’s from getting plugged with sheet rock and wood dust? The coils are made with a small amount of oil for assembly and will trap a lot dust. Hard to get off for.
Yes, there are 2 return airs and there is a furnace filter.

Thanks for the reply. I’m retired about 6 years ago. Enjoy all your work keep them coming.
What! No comments yet?
Half your Solar Panels are in the shade? That wont work.
It was early morning. Once the sun got high enough they were in full sun.
