      Yes Casey but it does not show what it looks like underneath. Most people responding to this have never used a meat grinder in their life. I have and it takes some torque to grind meat. How did that block handle that torque? I am wanting a picture from underneath.

    Joe, I had an idea and thought I would share it here. On your earlier video when you were talking and showing the little diesel heater, I got to thinking that would have an awesome use when a homeowner has frozen pipes. I think we all have been caught forgetting to drip the faucets or not having enough insulation. A homeowner could take the little heater and blow it into the crawl space of their house. I would think the heater could warm up the crawl space to thaw out the pipes.

    I am so glad that I live in an area that does not require chains. We do get walloped every so often and the snow may hang around a few days. But then the temperatures get above freezing and we have sunshine days and it goes away. Then all we have to contend with is black ice. I no longer work and I try to make Doctor appointments mid morning. The sun will have time to warm up the earth.

    My grandma had a Hoosier cabinet. It had two doors on the left, top and bottom . The top door was where the flour was kept in a bin and the bottom door was for the sifter. On the right 3/4 of the cabinet there was two doors on the top for storage with work space below. It had a pull out work space but the coolest feature was it had a roll top that came down from under the top cabinets to cover the work space. In her later years she moved in with my aunt and I had wondered what happened to the cabinet. A few years later I was visiting grandma at my aunts house and went to the basement (unfinished) and there was the cabinet. My uncle was using it to store tools, I was SICK. It was covered with oil, dirt and grime. I never saw it again.

    Tons of rain this winter, very little snow accumulation. We did have this past week (Friday/Saturday Jan 12 & 13) a bit of a storm. More blowing of snow than anything. Supposed to get quite cold this upcoming week down around 0 F. Tonight, we are sitting at 8 F. Little concerned about the winter damage on our winter wheat this year, we rely upon on good snow blanket to protect the crop but what little snow we had so far that if we get a prolonged severe cold spell we could be looking at diminished return come harvest in June/July.

    The metal drawer does have a sled top, after you pull the the drawer out you slide the metal back, before you slide the drawer in close the top

    Joe when I was a kid in the 80s we used to go to a marina on Lake Erie and the train tracks had those balls and we would use those for our slingshot. Weird. What were they called and why did they use them on tracks. I always thought they were hauling them and just spilled during the loading process

    • @NorthernSeclusion
      @NorthernSeclusion  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They did spill Mark. they are taconite pellets. The beginning of what will eventually be steel. They used to fall out of the train cars and were perfect for the slingshot.

    Hey Joe, on the Hoosier, does the enamel top slide in and out? My old one does and the meat grinder attachment on the side fits under the enamel top. Mine you can take that top all the way off if you take out a few nails. I’ve replaced them with screws so I don’t have to play with nailing. Don’t know if that was supposed to be that way, but when I got mine it was filthy so I took it apart.

    Can't wait to see your skills in action refurbishing the cabinet. I'm a bit surprised the cabinet is bright canary yellow. Is that a aftermarket paint color choice or was it sold originally that color?

    • @NorthernSeclusion
      @NorthernSeclusion  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The black diesel you can plug in, not the gas trucks but you really never need it with the gas vehicles. Years ago you did but not with everything being fuel injected. My white diesel is from Louisiana so it does not have a plug in installed. I have the plug but have never installed it yet. Unless it is 25 below, even the diesels start with no problem.
