With how annoyed joel was getting, it felt like he'd been searching for half an hour instead of 7 minutes

When Joel said "Hello, GEM." at 21:00, I instantly thought, "_Hello, Newman_."
The signs are a perfect touch. The mounting frustration from being taunted leads to frantic searching causing the seeker to miss things. Gem is a genius.

Wow the under the porch spot took way longer for everyone but Jimmy found it pretty quick, you were right for recognizing he would look there and choosing the underwater spot for him lol
gem's psychological game is unmatched. even correctly predicting which spot jimmy would find first... *chef kiss*
I really wish that Gem had put a small maze under the porch for everybody to painfully crawl through.

as someone who made a labyrinth from a jagged peaks mountain to bedrock, I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone, and I had a speed beacon
edit because I forgot to add this, the tunnel was a 1x1 made of stairs using the corners as the gap

@@nomadhakunamatata5793 okay, I realize I forgot to add a detail to my previous comment, so I apologize, but I made it using the corners of stairs so it was half a block off but still the equivalent to a 1x1 tunnel, but the pattern wasn't the problem
From Jimmy’s perspective searching in the water Gem actually sounds like a siren leading him to his doom
I’m seeing two approaches with these things. There’s the Gem strategy, where you load the build up with so much detail and so many hiding places that people just get lost, and there’s the Jimmy strategy, where the build is just so frustratingly simple that no one knows what to do. It seems Gem’s strategy works better. :)
also the scott strategy, where you just put a bunch of you in it
gem also utilizes paths to mislead others. she mentioned it more in her first video I think, but she uses paths to subconsciously guide others to the structure rather than the places she is actually hiding. it actually works quite well in her favor, especially when she’s quite literally hiding underneath the path they are following
Jimmy gave a lot of hints so I feel it may be the exact same level of difficulty

One time i spent my time on the server me and my friends made just making my entire base with the idea that you'd use it to play Hide-And-Seek in.
The base had secrets everywhere and eventually housed 5 whole players who all loved to make walls out of Spruce Trapdoors and loved to live in eachother's walls.

I saw your build from afar in other POVs first and I was honestly unsure of how many hiding spots you could hide in a lighthouse. This is honestly impressive and some are very creative and still on theme. I love it!

If you're curious, the lighthouse Gem is probably inspired by with the barber pole-esque red stripe (most lighthouses are all white with no stripe at all, or maybe will have some red horizontal bands) is likely the Heart's Content lighthouse on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada. Gem also lives in Newfoundland, and I think she said she lives in St. John's, too, so this is probably the one!

Honestly, I love this video concept. I think it's one of the first videos of yours that wasn't a tutorial that I watched, which led me to your Hermitcraft content, and then to the rest of (both) of your channels. All because of this great twist on both speed-building and hide and seek that forces people to think differently about building. It's really fun to see.
