Sonic is practically confirmed to have been a late addition in Brawl. It's not just his sudden appearance in Subspace but his moveset too. Not only do a lot of the animations look unpolished but they come from a lot of other fighters too. Then there's of course how he turns into a ball for a lot of them. Something that for some reason they haven't changed at all today and understandably irks people.

About the sonic 2 bad ending, a lot of people especially on japan like making important people showing in the sky as stars but in a way of saying that the person is too far away of your reach, in short is saying that you failed to save tails and now tails is far from being saved by sonic and that sonic misses his friend, the sonic fandom saw the scene as tails dying and created a bunch of creepypasta based upon it that ended up spreading on internet.

As a kid, in about '93-94, I remember hearing two rumors about Tails.
1. Tails was a girl and was Sonic's girlfriend
2. There were two Tailses, one male, one female.
I haven't thought about that in years, but because of your video, I now think the Latin American dub maybe the origin of these rumors.
If anyone is also interested in such odd rumors from the early 90's, one I remember very vividly was that there existed a game where Dr. Robotnik was the/a hero. I heard this before Sonic 3 was released.
There was a live stream for Sonics 25th anniversary that was sponsored by totinos. Throughout the stream the dude would keep talking about the "totinos kitchen" or something and when he ate them he looked like he was gonna vom while talking about how good they apparently where. I watched like half of that stream for some reason

14:00 The guy that actually made Sonic 3D Blast has a TH-cam channel called GameHut, and he's commented before that the Level Select appearing when the game has an error was a way to cheese the testing that SEGA put games through before they were published. SEGA would let the game sit and run for hours, and if there was an error, the test would fail. So, instead of letting the game bug out or display an error, he made it go to the level select, as a sort of "Surprise! You've found an Easter egg!"

This isn't the only time Human-animal hybrids exist in a Sonic series. in the 1991 manga Sonic the Story Comic there are four of them: a Hedgehog-girl, bunny-girl,Cat-girl, and Deer-girl. They form a group called Sonic's Bodyguard Platoon. Strange isn't it.
If you translated Tails name into Colitas it really makes it sound like a female. Colitas brings to mind something like twintails. I can see them taking it from there.

The whole Kenders in general part of the iceberg issues with Ken Penders were mostly due to Archie’s laziness. I don’t like what he did but I understand why he did it, and am more annoyed the fact that Archie did not have him sign any copyright forms, and did not bother bringing their own documents and did not bother justifying why characters like Scourge is pretty much a separate character from Evil Sonic. All Penders wanted other than the right to use his characters was royalty checks for resales of comics 11-159. Ken left solely because his Editor was getting pushy or something to do with Sega adding more rules, like requiring Sonic and Sally Break up and Sonic never have a girlfriend, which makes sense is Sonic is to date, it is up to Sega. Also Sega did not like the Archie line to begin with most likely because of all the inserted Politics and imitation of other stories. The back story for Archie Mobius is literally Just planet of the Apes.

@@wyattpeek429 I will start by saying I am not trying to white knight Penders, I don’t like what he caused as much as the next guy, I was a Sonally Shipper. The Archie company does some pretty shady stuff to begin with. While yes I liked the Archie sonic comics, there is no denying just how lazy, and corrupt Archie is, and how much politics they put in their comics. While I don’t agree with Pender’s political opinions(I checked his Twitter he is far left and I a hard line Moderate who leans Libertarian(the south part the political compass, north is Authoritarianism)) from a capitalistic standpoint he was well within his rights, based off what he has said, he may have known situation better than Archie. Then again Archie went through a regime change in the time he left. I will be the First to admit, Ken’s writing is literally just him ripping off history and stories that were popular at the time that he was the head writer. His Echidna’s are Jews fresh out of a holocaust, as already said his back story for Mobius is planet of the Apes(but instead of nukes it was aliens), his Robotnik was basically just the Terminator/skynet who wanted to have fun because it grew bored of the world it conquered. Sonic lost in space was a Myriad of different 80’s to 90’s sci-fi movies and tv shows. He is a decent writer at best, that honestly a comic that stayed $2.50 a month for a decade was an ok distraction.
Also lastly Archie mainly canceled their Sonic comic line because they did not want to charge more inorder to comply with what Sega wanted. Which prompted Sega to go to IDW. A company that charges 2 to 3 times what Archie does for its comics.

@@wyattpeek429 yeah. From a technical stand point there are no new stories beyond new/modern history, but it is the job of an artist to mix things up enough that the reader/viewer/watcher can barely trace their inspiration. Which as stated Penders barely did that.

Fun fact: there exists a full version of Sonic: The Movie using the old Sonic design. It was confirmed by a Russian TH-cam creator, who was supposed to be the original VA of Sonic in the Russian dub. This pretty much debunks the whole "redesign was originally planned" theory.

The "Hidden Palace Music" was actually intended to be cutscene music and the true Hidden Palace theme remains the music used in the Mystic Cave 2P mode.

For the uninitiated, they were pretty notable for having Sonic, Shadow, and Silver as the central focus as opposed to Sonic Tails and Knuckles and there was always a running gag of Silver being the punching bag of the group followed by Silver saying "Ow ow ow ow, how did I not see that coming"

*Sonichu is Canon* - Along with Mark the Tapir in Sonic Boom, which is supposedly a parody of Chris Chan (down to coloring Sonic’s arms tan in the scene his fanart appears in), Sega also made a tweet stating that Sonichu would be added to Sonic Boom if he was a big the cat recolor with yellow arms and three scarves. I cannot find the tweet for the life of me.
*Echidonut* - Relates to one of the tracks in Sonic Adventure 2. The actual word used is “Echi-dona,” which... isn’t a word, either. I think this is used in Aquatic Mine as part of the line “Echidona, that’s what I represent”. It’s specifically used to make the song flow better.

Regarding the Tails Credits one, I’m pretty sure it was talking about that in the bad ending of Sonic 2, after the credits, a picture of Tails cane be seen in the night sky, implying that he died.
the reason R2 was cut was because different people worked on each stage (round), and the result that was gotten from R2 was not up to standards compared to the rest of the stages, and since they didn't have time to replace it, they just scrapped it entirely.

Sonic Adventure Real Life Photos refers to how some textures in Adventures are actual photographs from a development research trip to temples and jungles that were used in the game
Mighty actually did appear in another game outside of cameos before sonic mania plus. He was a playable character in knuckles chaotix. It's also pretty much confirmed that they reused sonic sprites and edited them to make mighty's sprites when the game was changed from starring sonic and tails to starring knuckles and the chaotix. After that though he didn't make any major appearances until sonic mania plus.
Also sonic was confirmed to be late addition to brawl, not only because a lot of his moves in that game are either strikingly similar to the moves of other characters or himself but Sega approached Nintendo about including him when brawl was almost finished. This is what caused brawl to be delayed a bit longer before finally releasing.

sonic 06 had two different teams - one for 360/PS3, one for wii. the wii team later went on to make secret rings out of what they had.
From what I've heard, the Wii version of Sonic '06 was canceled due to Sega realizing the console wouldn't be powerful enough for the game after getting dev kits for it.
