    Just advise ...turn the gas cylinder around so its collar covers the valve...so a stone dont brake the valve

    Kevin thanks for the videos. In one of your earlier videos you went to see Escapod. Would you mind expanding on your comment that the manufacturing visit was “underwhelming”. I can’t get out to Utah to tour it myself and everything I’ve read and watched Escapod seems to make a quality product. Was the product quality and the manufacturing processes were the concern? In other words it wasn’t organized, etc?

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So number one thing was after being in manufacturing most of my life I have a high standard of what it should look like and while it was decent in the line setup it definitely wasn’t what we saw at the Bean facility that’s for sure and after seeing them back to back they looked almost amateur. They also didn’t seem to have much in the way of product testing it was more of a let’s put it out there to see if it works kind of thing such as the ac system that they offered at the time which was marketed as an ac but was more of a swamp cooler. When asked about t they could tell me much about it and didn’t seem at all confident about it and was more like well we are giving it a try to see how it works kind of answer. I expect a manufacturing facility to know their products and be confident in them as well. That being said the long term review of the meaner bean shows my ending thoughts on the bean and my general distrust of these small camper companies as a whole because of quality control and general business practices of these companies that charge a premium and come up short in the long run. From what I have observed the US hasn’t gotten to the Australian level yet with overall quality of product and testing.

    Are you able to fully open the Jeep tailgate? I know that is an issue with our teardrop which is manageable, but problematic.

    • @GrayLineOverland

      To be honest I’m not sure I will let you know as soon as I hook it up this week lol.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So I checked as I couldn’t remember and no I can’t open my tailgate but a $20 extension would fix that if I buy it.

      @@GrayLineOverland thanks for checking. It’s the Achilles heel of the Jeep with Trailer. I run an extension as well, but it’s another failure and flex point. Still love that Bean trailer. Thanks for the follow up.

      FYI if the propane bottle was moved back about 2 inches it would be able to open when straight. I am going to fix that soon.

      So in hot weather you need something and we are looking at a couple different options for that but it’s tolerable for me ashley not so much. We set it up in its own tent it’s small but we plan to get a bigger one soon.

    • @GrayLineOverland
      @GrayLineOverland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was close to 30 and I know what you mean it’s a chunk but when you spec out what it has and the fact that it’s fiberglass not wood or aluminum that adds to the cost so I don’t think you could build it for that or even close to it the battery and fridge and stove would be half of that. It really will last a long time but I do understand it’s not for everyone. Thanks for watching and giving feedback as it’s always welcome. Hope to hear from you in the future and please if you haven’t hit subscribe.

    Check that your Bean trailer brake battery box it mounted up-right. Ours was sideways which will allow dirt and water damaged to the circuit board. Easy fix.

      @@GrayLineOverland Thanks Kevin, I really enjoy seeing your Meaner being maneuvered down the trails. We haven't been through anything that challenging yet, but I have done a fair bit of backing up and some tight turn arounds. Love the Max coupler. I hope all is well during these rough times. We appreciate your service and sacrifices.
