      As a tech in a dealer, we fight the clock because pay is flat rate. Pulling steering wheels for some type of service is needed. Even though I had $4 in pullers, it takes time to find what you need as stacked on top of each other. Either way, I had a habit of removing the nut and pulling up on the steering wheel left & right side with enough force to pop them off. Once I took the nut completely off instead of 5 or 6 threads. It came off and spent an hour with “TP” in my nostrils to keep from bleed on a customers car. That is one of those mistakes, you only make once!

    I have a 72. What do you do for the switch when the door panel comes out at the door crank hole?

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have multiple options. You could mount the switch in the raised portion of your panel where the handle was. You can also convert to a flat panel like '71 and earlier used. Or, you could use a handle style switch like we show here in this video: th-cam.com/video/paon2nt8wxU/w-d-xo.html

  • @TheBmco99
    @TheBmco99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing I would like to know do you have to buy new door panels you’re going to have a hole where the roller was or Does the switch go in the old hole ?

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's going to depend on how big the hole was where your handle went through. In most cases the hole is small enough to cover with the new switch. if it is too big, you can always create a small trim piece that will cover the hole and mount the switch into the trim. That way you can avoid the cost of new panels.

    I plan on installing electric windows on my 65 C10. I bought a 21 circuit fuse box, I noticed that it didn’t have a plug/wire for electric windows. This truck that your working on; does it have a plug for electric. windows? My understanding is that you ran the hot wire directly to the fuse box’?!

    • @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
      @BROTHERSTruckPartsTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We run the hot to a relay that is connected either to a robust circuit on the fuse box or to the battery.
