People want the PL to quickly punish City but cant realise that the PL cant be 'wrong' here, they have to prove and verify every charge otherwise they will be embarrased as soon as they bring out their bogus results. They will be sued and asked to verify every charge. Even if they drop any charge from the 115, they have to explain why they brought the charge in the first place. These are serious charges. it means PL is saying Deloitte cheated at some point, the city board members etc

Great post! Yes, the owners of the club have done nothing wrong and the PL have backed themselves into the corner here. FFP was designed to stop teams like MCFC disturbing the established clubs cartel. The owners bought at the right time, made hay and created an amazing global brand / club with sister clubs around the world, all in a decade! Not guilty as will be seen.
FFP is there only to keep the big clubs ahead of the game. If season after season my club earns more and can spend more(through being successful on the field), how can anyone ever catch up? For example if Liverpool generates way more money than Burnley, according to FFP, they can spend way more. This means Liverpool will be able to afford far better players can Burnley. This means since Liverpool has way better players than Burnley, Burnley won't be able to compete with Liverpool on the field. This means since Liverpool still succeeded than Burnley on the field, they will make more money that season. This means since they make more money, they will be able to buy far better players than what Burnley can buy in the next season (according to FFP). So you see, the cycle continues year after year forever. The big teams remains big and the small teams remains small. FFP was created just to keep the big teams big and keep the small teams small.
The timing of its introduction would suggest that was actually created to 'curtail' the growing spending of City and PSG more than anything .... but football NEEDS competition, and if you are gonna leave the big spending only to clubs who have the biggest incomes, then you are NEVER going to achieve a 'level playing field'.
@@Mancityfan2468 Maybe a bit more because good players cost so much nowadays, say £250m ..... a club should be able to bring three of four new players in with that each season if they so wished.
@@barryh.4220 if by competition you mean new toys for Middle Eastern despots then I don’t see how this is better than no competition. In the end it just goes from how much money the club makes to how much money the owners have.
Which United admitted to, in fact they were the ones that provided the financial records off their own backs. Same as Everton did oh and guess what happened they got done. Unlike those cheating cunts City refusing to provide their cooked books. Where are they getting all that revenue from? Because they certainly haven't got the support they make out and definitely not getting it all from sponsorship. So where is it all coming from? From the pockets of the owners disguised as sponsorship money. You couldn't make it up if you tried. They'll be getting those little brown envelopes ready as usual.
Putting aside the Guilty/Not Guilty argument, this is a pretty useful overview if you take the time to watch through it. (Mind you, Harlaand appears so often in the visuals that it could be interpreted as a subliminal message that he is to blame for most of it!!)
What is interesting about the PL charges for FFP is that, as shown in the video, they are retroactively charging City for breaches before the rules and FFP was even established (2011 FFP established), so I am not sure how that plays out. There is also the issue with time limitation. A lot of people, incorrectly, believe that the PL can go back for an indefinite amount of time. When you read the PL's Rules & Interpretation section, it states that anything not specifically referenced here (the Rules and Interpretation section) will be interpreted via the Doctrine of English Law, and in English Law, there is something called the Limitation Act which states that, in general, there is a 6 year threshold of limitation (unless involving land disputes, then its 12 years). The big question will be when the clock for limitations commence from - does it start from when the PL began its investigation (around 2020 so 2014 or is when the club was formally charged which was 2023 so back to 2017 or another time that is publicly not known?) As per the revenue generation from 2018 - 2022, couple of questions: Do PL teams get paid more in the PL than teams in other leagues? Yes. For example, PL revenue at end of season is about 3x what La Liga is so over time, would it not make sense, at least on that line item that with consistent winner of the PL would be making 3x more than the top spot in La Liga? As a team in the biggest and best league in the world continues to win multiple competitions, do you think they are more or less likely to bring in more and higher advertising deals than bigger clubs who have not won nearly as much over the past 10 years? A perfect example of this the Patriots in the NFL. In the early 2000s they were a small team with matching revenue etc relative to the larger ones but as soon as they starting winning Super Bowls, guess what happened? Their revenues climbed and climbed every year until they became one of the biggest and most valuable teams in the NFL. This is basic economics. Yes MU have a larger fanbase, 100% but they are not inking as many new growing deals as they once were bc of market saturation and they have not been winning much for over a decade. Couple the 3x winnings, massively growing advertising rev, growing fanbase and much bigger commercial TV deals, and it makes sense that City's value has been climbing. Also, no one seems to be talking about the academy players either. They have brought in over 300m academy player sales alone which is higher than any one else which also adds to their growing revenues as they have, arguably the best academy in the world currently (based on player sales relative to other clubs). Then you could also throw in the revenue they get for the players they have bought, then sold for a profit too. Does all the exonerate them from all the charges? I am not saying that at all,. But what I am saying is that there needs to be some logic and objectivity applied to this situation to have a fair and honest debate as too many fans live in this historical bubble about what the clubs 'deserve based on size' and are not thinking about basic economics. The CAS ruling should be read as it is very interesting, sheds a lot of light on the subject, disproves a lot of the nonsense that fans talk about but wont look at as it will weaken their narratives. Its 93 pages paragraphs 254-257 are quite interesting
So many of your arguments are flawed. I'll just address the commercial revenue for now as I've limited time: Firstly, the Premier League's revenue is around double of La Liga, not triple. Moreover, the problem with this rationale is that the Premier League and La Liga have different splits between the teams for the TV money. In England the revenue is far more evenly split, with West Ham for example only receiving around $10 million less than United. In La Liga on the other hand, Madrid, Barca and Athletico receive around a third of the entire leagues revenue between them, so get 'a far larger slice of the pie' than Premier League teams do. There is no metric (discounting dodgy inflated sponsorship deals) that suggests that City should have greater commercial revenue than Madrid or even be close to it. City are in no way a more attractive commercial proposition for sponsorship deals either given that City's supporter base is minuscule compared to that of Madrid, with Madrid for example selling literally millions more shirts than do City. Given that they've won The Champions League 5 times in the past ten years your 'City make more money because they're more successful' argument falls on it's face too. And yet somehow, despite all of this, City have a higher commercial revenue than Madrid. I'm sure that City's owner being on the board of the companies (or parent companies) that sponsor City is sheer coincidence though and has nothing to to with anything.
@@thanekrios3211 As per La Liga, when I looked it up and converted the approximate totals each team received 1-20 vs 1-20 in the PL, the PL is about a 3x. Could that be wrong? Possibly in which case it would be an honest error. As per what City generated in prize money revenue in 2022-23, it was about 300 pounds, now perhaps your math is not taking this part into consideration, but the money you make in prizes will exceed, by a good distance, those teams that did not win, let alone, didnt stay in the competition, like a MU for example with the CL so therefore it would naturally stand to reason that the revenue numbers from the CL would be substantially higher for City relative to MU since they were in the group stage and then crashed out of the Europa. As for the TV rights, you are correct, but again what youre missing is that PL is about 60% larger, annualized under their current contract relative to La Liga. Where do you think that extra 600m pounds goes year in and year out relative to the LL? Where is your math in regards to City winning more consistently than any team in LL for the respective titles in the past 7 years. Where do you think those difference end up going? Right to their top line. Not sure why you are not incorporating any of this in your calculus. As for the accounting of sponsorship deals. You do realize how commercial deals work right? They are not signed annually. Why? Bc if a team is doing well, locking in a 5 or 10yr contract is more advantageous to the buying party. Look at MU for example, they just signed the largest 10yr deal in history for jerseys with Adidas. Now, if you compare the revenue they were receiving for the previous 10 year deal, do you think their annualized rev was higher or lower than the new deal they just inked? Logic would dictate higher. When City signed with Puma, it was the highest jersey deal up to that point in time, which means, that the annualized rev for City was higher than for MU in the years where the 2 overlapped. That is not the case anymore, as MU will be higher. Again, use that paradigm with numerous sponsors and a pattern begins to emerge, unless of course you disagree with the notion that the more a team wins, regardless of where it started, it will continue to increase in value as more advertising dollars want to be associated with that team? I think you may be overlooking the overseas tv broadcasting deals too here and again, you have not disproven or even attempted to do so with my example of the Patriots in the NFL over a 10-15yr period. Look at any graphics that shows their historical revs, attendance numbers, sponsorships deals both in number and magnitude and of course the value of the team itself: they all went up. This paradigmatic for all pro teams regardless of where they start, of course it is all relative. Look at Wrexham today vs where they were 5 years ago which is a smaller scale yes, but increases in club value, number of sponsors and size of contracts etc, all going up substantially relative to their non-league counterparts. And yet I don't see any of those counterparts in non-league or even other L2 teams bc they all understand the basic fundamentals of commercialism, capitalism and economics, which I am not sure you do. My points are simply for the years covered in 2018 to present but I would assume that if you were to look back at previous financial statements, City's revenue grew and grew commensurate with their winning, BUT not to the degree it has under Pep, which you have to admit, has been unparalleled since coming to City. Its almost like you want to dismiss all of that bc you just can't take the fact that City have been growing so much. You also did address anything I said about market saturation with the bigger clubs either. The pace of growth will be much slower than up and coming clubs who are winning tremendous amounts. Just look at MU in the 1990s. Ever wonder why they kept growing their revs rapidly relative to LFC? Could it be that it was bc they were winning tremendously, gaining more fans from winning so consistently (globally and hence their many global tours they did) and of course, inking massive deals with more and more sponsors until they were the biggest club commercially in the world. So you have no problem with that, but City are incapable of doing the same? Even more so in the high speed digital age we live in? Looking forward to your counterpoints on what I have said

Sheikh Mansour (his ADUG Group) paid the Etisalat sponsorship in 2012 but it was recorded in their audited accounts as a debt and Etisalat repaid it in 2015. The fact that it was repaid in 2015 meant the 2012 payment wasn't time barred in the CAS ruling! City were warned about the Premier League's doubts concerning the management of 3rd party image rights, so they fixed that promptly. The Etihad sponsorship was ruled to be fair and funded correctly by CAS. This is a purely political fight, with the PL pretending to the government that they can independently regulate themselves, although they are regularly egged on by City's rivals. If this is all about sustainability, start looking at clubs massively in debt, like Barca, Real Madrid and Man United.

@RuiPinto41 Have you got Internet access in prison Rui? Seems like extortion doesn't quite work out the way you planned it to eh? Are you basing all your arguments on a handful of hacked emails? Of course City tried to sponsor themselves using inflated deals but Juventus did the same with Jeep and Fiat. CAS deemed that the deals represented fair value, they weren't that extortionate. City will win the legal case because they know that the onus is on the PL to prove guilt and they don't have enough evidence. City would be foolish to give the PL ammo before the courtroom. City were declaring losses of over 100 million at the time so why would they risk relegation for 1.75 million to Mancini? It was an admin decision that is justifiable, but accounting practices are open to debate. City subsequently cut 30 million from their costs by moving staff to the City Football Group because they could, so they did. 3rd party image rights were controversial but City brought that in line. This has become political, and very tribal. The owners have spent over 200 million on the City Academy and are now the best run club in the land. They had to be creative to beat the restrictive cartel rules imposed by David Gill and his scared friends. Did they commit FRAUD? I guess we'll find out eventually, in a couple of years.
@arthurmathebula5011 City's revenue only beat Real Madrid by 17 million but City won a treble including 2 very prestigious and lucrative titles. Real won the Copa del Rey (1 million) and UEFA Super Cup (5 million) which City almost matched with their least lucrative title, the FA Cup (5 million). If you consider City got 120 to 140 million for winning the Champions League and maybe even more for the Premier League then that's at least 200 million more than Madrid got for finishing second in their farmers league. Last week, City's feeder club were top of La Liga. Maybe you should be working out how not to concede so many goals at the Etihad.
United are only in debt because of the Glazers. They generate more in match ticket and merchandise sales than any other club on earth. Mansour City can't even fill their own ground.
A stupid comment. These are huge business operations. Imagine Apple not spending cash to increase and improve its business because of a rule brought in by its rivals 🤣🤣🤣🤣
For football to be genuine. Owners cannot have their own minorit or majority share owned companies sponsor their teams. There can be no loans or player sales between clubs owned by the same entity. There needs to be a salary cap. Until then its a criminal organization pretending to be sport.
The best thing about this is FFP was first introduced in 2012 but hey City broke them from 2009, which is glorious mate imagine breaking rules that dont even exist your dusty club could never. There are emails publicly available now that show City executives requesting specific amounts of money be injected into the club (equity), but reflected as sponsorship money. This is completely irregular. No legitimate sponsor acts this way, and yet we have multiple emails not only requesting this be done, but also they even say it has been done in previous seasons. This happened after FFP's introduction.
Guilty to many charges they won't get away with it. The premier league are no fools. Just because they have money doesn't mean there can get away with it.
The CAS hearing was loaded from the start: UEFA choose one judge, City choose another and then there is an independent Jurist. Shortly before the CAS hearing, the Head of UEFA was filmed in the executive box at the Etihad. Then the proceeding at CAS started with one Uefa appointed judge and TWO appointed by City against the rules; the latter found in City's favour. The fact that, on one hand, they say indignantly that they have "irrefutable proof" that they are innocent and on the other hand say they will tie the Premier League up in legal red tape indefintely speaks volumes. Abu Dhabi has also lobbied the British Government to put in place an independent arbitrator who will favour City. If the UK Government does not comply with this, those arms sales will go up in smoke.
I dont understand why if they been charged with all these charges they havent been punished, Surely you can't charge them without proof and if there is proof why is it taking so long? So City deny the charges why should this stop them being charged? If I got into trouble and said it wasnt me it doesnt stop me being punished they go with the evidence and thats it. I'm not saying they are or are not guilty by the way.
One of the charges is City's lack of cooperation. They have very good lawyers who are paid stupid amounts to drag this out until the PL give up or the charges are reduced. City are not a normal club, there is a lot of politics involved with a country that invests heavily in the UK.

It is essentially doping to give you an advantage to beat your opponent. Obviously if they win more they earn more - THAT ISNT THE POINT. Before the Saudi take over MCFC were a mid-table team at best. The point is that MCFC and their sports washing owners have possibly paved the way to success via fraud and the breaking of several ffp rules. Whether or not they are earning all revenue legitimately now is irrelevant to the 115 charges between 2009 and 2017. Also for city fans trying to use this statute of limitations argument - are you really choosing the "our team cheated too long ago for them to be held responsible " hill to die on? We have to wait until summer 2025 for rulings. They shouldn’t even play the next season. Just hand city the trophy. It’s a rather boring and predictable league until this gets resolved.
PL charging Man City with these 115 charges and going public with it is just muscle flexing with no satisfactory outcome, meaning City will get away with it again. The fact that 2 of the 3 members of CAS on the board were both suggested by Man City to be 2 3rds of the regulatory chairs which again goes against the rules says it all 2 to 1 votes both coming from Man City suggested bought and paid for CAS panel, in Man City's eyes job done. This could go on for years and yet you have Everton with a charge of which they owned up to dropped 10 points im not an Everton supporter by the way. If the club is refusing to show any data that is needed to prove their innocence then they should be suspended from the league until they provide evidence to suggest otherwise in my opinion not presenting the evidence needed makes them look as guilty as sin and suspension will be the only way to get them motivated. Its totally unfair to the other clubs in the PL who are abiding by the rules. I make no apologies for the rant as i hate cheaters in any sport.

These rules that were brought in to stop the elite being challenged need to end. Football has never been fair and the hierarchy have always persecuted smaller clubs and got bigger and bigger while the small clubs struggle financially . Private money coming into the game ended that closed shop the likes of Liverpool Arsenal and Manchester United enjoyed. With Blackburn being the first of note followed by Chelsea and many others who would clearly have broken these rules had they existed at the time. It appears that the fans of the biggest teams are the ones most upset with Manchester City, these are the very same teams that have historically had a massive unfair financial advantage over the rest of the league. It is obvious that these clubs and their influence had a big say in bringing these rules in to protect their monopoly over being the elite. If Manchester City's owners sold up today they would make a profit, no other business in society would have investment restricted to improve the value of their company. To be clear I am not a Manchester City fan , I support a club that has always been disadvantaged so I laugh at the elite crying because they no longer have a huge advantage.

Two reasons why this investigation is going nowhere, whether true or not, from todays’ Guardian Online. Manchester City is not a football club in this context. It is an arm of a highly influential nation state, with whom the UK did £25bn of trade last year. Two years ago the UAE, led by Abu Dhabi’s state fund Mubadala, agreed a multibillion-pound investment in British infrastructure. The chief executive of Mubadala, Khaldoon al-Mubarak, is also chairman of Manchester City. The same year the UK prime minister met Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces to agree a key defence pact. Sheikh Mohamed’s brother is Sheikh Mansour, the de facto owner of Manchester City. Relax, you’re safe.

They should make a maximum spending budget per season of 150m so its more fair
The timing of its introduction would suggest that was actually created to 'curtail' the growing spending of City and PSG more than anything .... but football NEEDS competition, and if you are gonna leave the big spending only to clubs who have the biggest incomes, then you are NEVER going to achieve a 'level playing field'.
@@Mancityfan2468 Maybe a bit more because good players cost so much nowadays, say £250m ..... a club should be able to bring three of four new players in with that each season if they so wished.

A club so small that even when it’s a video about your club, you can only talk about united. Enjoy your away games at Salford next year.
Putting aside the Guilty/Not Guilty argument, this is a pretty useful overview if you take the time to watch through it. (Mind you, Harlaand appears so often in the visuals that it could be interpreted as a subliminal message that he is to blame for most of it!!)
It was HAALAND all along! And thank you.
The big question will be when the clock for limitations commence from - does it start from when the PL began its investigation (around 2020 so 2014 or is when the club was formally charged which was 2023 so back to 2017 or another time that is publicly not known?)
As per the revenue generation from 2018 - 2022, couple of questions: Do PL teams get paid more in the PL than teams in other leagues?

This just tells you how credible the charges are I mean i read them and half of those are absolute nonsense, i feel there will be stuffs we might be guilty of but I know that there will be stuffs for which FA would be clowned upon, and i am all in for that lads.
Will explained, most of the items are mainly on cooperation
Which carries instant relegation
Other clubs : Break one or two financial fair play get punished right away
City's ,Thug life: Break so many rules, that they don't know which way or how to punish them
You made more money than you said you did. We're taking your titles. Makes perfect sense.
Cheated. There i fixed it
There are emails publicly available now that show City executives requesting specific amounts of money be injected into the club (equity), but reflected as sponsorship money. This is completely irregular. No legitimate sponsor acts this way, and yet we have multiple emails not only requesting this be done, but also they even say it has been done in previous seasons. This happened after FFP's introduction.
Whatever happens they will never have respect for their ill-gotten gains.

Guilty to many charges they won't get away with it. The premier league are no fools. Just because they have money doesn't mean there can get away with it.
No. The PL are fools. No evidence

Surely you can't charge them without proof and if there is proof why is it taking so long?
So City deny the charges why should this stop them being charged?
If I got into trouble and said it wasnt me it doesnt stop me being punished they go with the evidence and thats it.
I'm not saying they are or are not guilty by the way.
Clearly the hapless Premier league are struggling to find evidence.
One of the charges is City's lack of cooperation.
They have very good lawyers who are paid stupid amounts to drag this out until the PL give up or the charges are reduced.
City are not a normal club, there is a lot of politics involved with a country that invests heavily in the UK.
@@RankinMsP Clearly you haven’t a clue what you are talking about, it’s for the accusers to prove guilt and not for the accused to prove their innocence and everything the Champions do is on legal advice. Plus the European Kings could have everything prior to 2017 dismissed as time barred but want the commission to establish their total innocence just like CAS did. It’s very clear the hapless Premier league has no credible evidence otherwise they would have hit the best club in the world with two or three charges with damming evidence but it’s clear they have no evidence and that’s why they have gone for a scattergun approach despite all those malicious allegations being thrown out previously by a proper court of law. it is clear they have done some financial wizardry, to suddenly go from being a mid-table team to a team earning more than the top teams. IF they have done this then it is cheating, and they should be punished for it as it has given them a clear advantage over everyone else, you are basically buying the league and trophies. It is essentially doping to give you an advantage to beat your opponent. FFP was not introduced to prevent teams from competing it was to prevent teams from going under due to excessive spending, a club still has the ability to raise itself by following the rules it is just a lot harder and probably would take longer.
Now If Pep is as good as everyone says he is then he would have no trouble, turning a mid-table team into champions without breaking FFP rules and he would still raise the club financially by winning but he would not be able to buy anyone he wants.
How come then mid table manu are a billion in debt?
@@robertmclellan3658 Causes they have Owners who can't funnel money into the club like City owners can, and they just buy players to make profit off not players who will win them the game.

The Champions proved at CAS that these malicious allegations were complete nonsense and that was dealing with the finest European lawyers EUFA could come up with so just imagine what City will do to the para legals and book keepers of the Premier League.
Clearly you have no care for the integrity of the sport and care only about winning and bragging rights. But that tracks considering you are city fans after all.
So no team should have the opportunity to become more than mid table?? Lmao what a shit opinion
@sparksk8er How is that what you took from my comment? Preferably teams did it the right way. There is definitely something to be said about the lack of diversity in the leaders of the prem but that's a completely different argument.
If you want to argue that teams should be able to spend as much as they want then you will just see the big teams dominate more and smaller teams spend themselves into debt they can't get out of. The ffp is there for a reason. Not everything is a conspiracy.
