  • Another modification to add to the list. these Alloytec v6 engines are notorious for black deposits to build up in the rearward bank . This is because the PCV valve allows little or no flow to vent contaminated gasses from the rocker cover . I have tested lots of them on different cars and most are clogged. These deposits contaminate the oil and this contributes to the worn/ stretched timing chain issues these engines sometimes have .

Thanks for the clip. Did this on my v6 today! 👍🏻

I’m wanting to do this but I’m curious how you made the fitting for the rear cover, could you possibly list some sizes or parts or explain it more please!

Brother, at 1:27 , how did you manage to detach that from the crankshaft itself ? By hand or any special tool is required ? Hope you answer. thank you

You have to pull it out and break off the securing tabs . There is no other way to remove it without breaking the tabs.

Greetings from Northern USA I appreciate the vid, did u get any CEL after this? Or did u get purge valve deleted in your tune,, also I see your running an aftermarket boost controller, do you have a custom tune for that or did you just simply hook the two wires to the 2 on the stock solenoid? Thanks in advance 👍 &subscribed

Hi there. You can run the 3 port Mac valve without mapping. It runs the same frequency.

The purge valve system is left stock.
Changing the crank case ventilation system caused no errors . So a modification anyone can do

The tank vents through the 3rd pipe and back into the intake of the car. So no bad smells when driving. And also the car runs an air flow meter. So you won't upset the metering of air.

@@medievilassassin the 1 way valves were used items from the same 2.8 engine. The best one is the one on the Breather pipe that connects from air intake to dipstick tube.

Just wanted to say you made a mistake disconnecting right bank from suction manifold. Here is why : left and right bank are internally connected throug timing chain cover . It means if you blow air from right bank vapour port , air will come out from left bank vapour port . At idle , which Turbo is not working hard , vacuum from intake manifold will suck both banks gases , and during high air intake situations, air pressure difference from turbo suck the glasses out of both banks . Now at idle you have more byproduct gases in both banks and you might have small leaks from not very worn-out gaskets. Now here is the answer to main reason to the first problem : all GM high future engines of this type have this problem because of poor ventilation inside the engine, also lack of oil splashes inside the valve cover due to the design of rocker arms and tappets. It means oil is not present to wash off the very top of engine. Re arranging pc system will make things worse than before.

If your logic was correct than the standard PCV system would see both banks the same! As this is not true and they have the same rockers etc they cannot be the reason for the difference ‼️

Recirculating the Disgusting and contaminated Blowby ... Back thru the turbo.. the Ic... the Intake and back into the engine is inefficient and frankly a stupid (cheap) technique ... ONLY there to meet emissions decrees. Delete the entire system .. I did.

      Not sure what you mean.
Properly filtering your vapour gasses stops oil film coating your intercooler internals which in turn improves its efficiency and can see an improvement of up to 4c compared to an oil contaminated unit.
So as a performance mod it is excellent .
