Pavel Kane Well...he's doing it by not getting enough consistent offence from their forward core...I mean who else is providing the offence for them...they don't have many other guys to lean on, that's why I think he is worthy of an upgrade.
I think he doesn't need a overall boost but a potential boost. he is a career 86-87 player and only gets statistical boosts i'm not sure what more that Johnny can do but something needs to change for a 6th overall pick.
I would increase Jesper Fast on NYR. He's on their 3rd line and he's on 74 ovr with 2 1/2 star potential. I'd say around 77 or 78 ovr with 3 1/2 star potential.

As for the potential, Hockeys Future have given him the same rating as Mantha and Larkin, I'd say that gives him 4 green.

Ville Kursula yes, he is a little bit. But i cant understand that GAUDREAU is a 5stars and Forsberg is a 87 4 1/2 stars and Stone isnt even 4 stars. Spooner has been playing top 6 time in Boston and has had a direct impact on Boston going from out of the playoffs to tying for 3rd. 81-83. Skating is unreal.

OMG Kittens Yakupov is so low because he's the youngest of the three 1st-Overall picks and Edmonton is terrible. He grows pretty reliably (especially now that he's 4-Green), so he'll get up there.

Nugent-Hopkins should at least be 85 or 86, like come on. The guy leads the league in average ice time for a forward, is put up against the toughest competition in the Western Conference, and this season was his highest point total yet in his career, plus was an All-Star selection by the league
It's hard to believe a guy like Cogliano has a higher overall than Nuge. I'd have him at at least 86-87 maybe 88. People underrate everyone on the Oilers because of their record but they fail to realize the skill the top players possess.

Scrivens should be an 80 at the highest, Fasth 79. Bachman can stay at 79. Klefbom should be an 80, Schultz an 82 with good offence. Hall 85 with horrible durability, Eberle 86, and Nuge 87.
I made rosters similar to yours, but when I start up a GM mode the players such as Eichel and Hanifin aren't in the scouting report. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
Johnny, just a few notes on Edmonton. - Nuge has been the best player on the team this year, and I know his body checking is down in this, but in real life he is not a bad checker. Nuge should be the highest overall. - Lander is a 76 2 1/2 star player, but he should be in the range of a 78/79 3 1/2 gold star. He's going to be a very good 3rd line Center so I think it's worth changing some of his stats.
Their goaltending is the main reason they're fighting for the presidents trophy right now, Talbot has really stepped up big time. Plus for me they never seem to do amazing like they should in my gm modes.
Yakupov and Nugent-Hopkins should've went up if anything. They've been playing great in the last few months. It's the Oilers goaltending and players like Nikitin who should be dropped
Weber needs to be 82+ He's so underrated. 9 goals for the canucks on the season, as well as Mathias, he should be boosted to 84-85. Canucks have the best depth in the league, most of the players should be over 80 overall.
As a Blackhawks/Ice Hogs fan, I've played GM mode with them a ton. Clendening is a great puck-moving d-man. He does not grow worth a shit in any GM mode I've had him in and I think his offensive stats should be a decent deal higher, and his potential perhaps to green. Whether it stays at four stars or not is up to you, three and a half green would do fine too.
TNParge Every single one for me, I put him in appropriate spots in the AHL roster before getting him up to the big club, and he only usually hit 81-82 by the time he was 24-25, which isn't awful, but it doesn't feel right.

They just grow faster so i'm fine with where the potentials are set. When I update my own roster, I typically make Koivu's Defensive stats better putting him at an 87-88 ovr. He's more known for that anyways. Make Brodin an 85 so he's on top pair with Suter. Spurgeon an 84 too with Scandella as 2nd pair. I'd drop Bergenhiem some (he's been mostly 4th line/scratched)

Morgan Rielly needs to be better then a 79. He's been better than Polak, Robidas and Gardiner. Have him around a 82-83, slick skater, with nice puck control, smooth passing and also reliable in his own end.
Its not close, Day is good, but Watson would've been the 3rd pick easily this year if he was born two days earlier. Watson is elite, definitely deserves to be in the game for the 2016 draft. And nationality and talent have no direct correlation to each other.
You got to increase Derrick pouliot of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Top prospect and has been getting some top minutes for them in the NHL. Also Matt Murray, pittsburgh's prospect goalie who plays for WBS in the AHL. Leads the league in shutouts and has just won back to back goalie of the month awards.
Couple things: -Create a player named Austin Matthews for year 2. He should be a two way defenseman at 75 overall, American. -Make Anton Stralman (Tampa) 86-87 overall, he is so underrated and is tampas second best defenseman behind Hedman
16royta hey kid stats aint the only thing that matters in hockey. koivu is a true leader of the team. he helps the young talents to progress. he also helps his team on both ends of the ice. also barkov has been playing amazing since jagr joined to panthers so i think he deserves his 84ovr.
16royta Barkov is probably the best defensive forward under 22/23 years old in the league. And he still has a decent amount of points for such a young player. Watch games or don't talk, stats mean nothing.
I feel like a guy like Jacob de la rose from Mtl should have an higher potential, he is playing with the team since febuary and he is the new third liner center. He is only 72 overall with 3.5 green star. I dont think that he should be like an 85 overall but he could be 77 ou 79 with 4 gold star. Gaudreau needs to be a playmaker, whenever I watch him he is just trying to get the puck to his teammates. Plus Josh Jooris needs a slight boost as well. You have to drop Skinner a bit more, he is still too good compared to the way he is playing now. Same thing with Patrick Sharp. Duchene, O'Reilly, Iginla, and Landeskog need to go down slightly and Tanguay needs a raise. Benn HAS TO BE the sniper or he has to be a powerforward. He is more of a sniper and powerforward than he is a playmaker. Plus Spezza needs a slight drop. And you have to enhance Brett Ritchie's potential, in real life the Stars could get an arm and a leg for him if they traded him but his trade value is not so great in this game. Abdelkader is grossly overrated and so is Weiss. Both need to be 83s or 82s not 85 and 84. Make Jagr 87 with 5 star potential so he doesn't retire after year one. Bjugstad has to be at least 85 overall. Ekblad must be at least 85 overall as well. Raise Toffoli and Pearson slightly. Parise is 89 at best. Neal needs to be brought down and Ribiero needs to be brought up. Stone and Hoffman both need to be 85 overall. MacDonald, Luke Schenn, and Delzaster need to be brought down. Dillon needs to be at least 4 gold star potential. Hutchinson and Pavelec need to be raised slightly Mrazek is WAY too good, 84 at best. Lawson Crouse needs to be 4.5 gold star potential

How should Del Zotto be brought down ? I have watched every Flyers game and he really stepped his game up. He was playing in defensive minded systems as an offensive dman. Now on Philly he constantly joins rushes and creates scoring chances, should be 85-86 for sure. But I agree for Mac and Schenn, drop them they suck lol

I think Schneider is better than varlamov, look at the numbers, GAA and SV% and you'll see Schneider is better and Schneider plays on debatably the worst team, it's just their goalie who is keeping them alive

@everyone if it wasn't for the Devils lack of scoring and bad play, Cory Schneider would've been a strong case for the vezina (behind Price). His gaa and sv percentage are amazing and he deserves the 90 pverall.
Aidan Mavrak JVR's defense has been quite lacking. Him playing on the PK doesn't mean that he's a good defensive player. He might not be as big a reason as Kessel is for the horrid +/- stat.

For god's sake Jared Cowen is an 84 overall, I say make Methot an 85-86 guy (strong skating and defensive categories) and lower Cowen to an 82-83, plus make his potential 3 1/2 green or 4 red. Yep also I think hayes should be 84 with green potential. Make Keith Yandle 88 overall. Bring up Kevin Klein to maybe 83 or 84 (because he is having an outstanding season) talbot should be 85.
He should also fix Kreider's spreed to 93 and acceleration to 89. It doesn't really matter since Johnny doesn't play but he's one of the fastest players so it's annoying from my point of view. Talbot should at least be 86 since he made Dubnyk 86. I would also boost Klein by increasing his passing, shooting and offensive awareness and also make him a twd. Also Hayes is better in offensive zone than defensive zone so Johnny should make a change on his offensive awareness too, maybe 84 offensive and 82 defensive.
Quick is good where he's at perhaps 92 at the lowest. He gets left out dry nearly every game, yet steals a few. Perhaps Schneider at 91-92, the guy is a damn workhorse and playing on a team that's not even playoff bound, matching numbers of elite goaltenders on great teams.

Here's some feedback on the Edmonton Oilers. I understand why you dropped Hall, but he hasn't played enough games to give a good reason to drop him. If you want realism, why tf would you drop him? I almost left the video when I saw your stats for RNH. No first line centre is 84 overall. You do realize that Nuge is a physical player, right? He's super strong on the puck, and has a whopping 92 hits on the season. I'm okay with the drop of Yakupov's overall, but why drop his potential? If you wanted to make Edmonton do really bad, don't be afraid to drop the defense overall. This is how you should make it: Klefbom(Leave alone) Schultz(HUGE drop in defensive category. Like 73 defensive overall) Fayne(81 overall. Drop offense) Ference(78 overall. Give him his physical category, but he's pretty much a really bad version of Phanuef) Nikitin(77 Overall. He's really bad. Like. REALLY bad) Aulie(He shouldn't even be in the NHL. 76 Overall.) Marincin(77 Overall 4 Yellow)
So happy to see someone comment about the oilers that actually knows something about them. I get that he wants the Oilers to suck which is realistic however it's the defense and goaltending that have put the Oilers where they are, not Hall, Nuge, Eberle and Yakupov.
I like the rosters, but for the Rangers Kreider, Hayes, and Stepan should all have higher potential like 4.5 yellow and slightly more enhanced overalls. For the Isles Anders Lee could be a bit better in overall.
Schultz 78? RNH 84? Yakupov 79? Criminally underrated. Change it to Schultz 82, RNH 86, Yakupov 82. RNH and Yakupov have had great stats since Eakins was fired. Paquette should be upgraded from 78 2.5 yellow to 82 3.5 yellow. He's a great 3rd liner. Lowry from 78 3.5 red to 82 3.5 yellow. Same as Paquette, he's a mainstay on Winnipeg's 3rd line.
Chychrun on the Sarnia Sting should be 4.5 gold star as a prospect, the kid is a beast. He was drafted 1st overall in the OHL draft and should be draft ready by year 2.
Price is the only goalie I noticed better than Lundqvist. Since at least Rask and Rinne also are better, he's too good if anything right now. There are other goalies out there as well that I'd call just as good as Lundqvist at this point.
I agree completely with Gaudreau being 5 red because he's small. But Pastrnak should be 4 green instead of 4.5 red stars. He never gets above an 83 and that's just not true in real life...he will become a sick player.

Two things Johnny: 1. Gibson needs to have the same potential and overall as Anderson; Boudreau does not know which goalie will start in the playoffs yet, so they should split time equally in the regular season. 2. Scott Darling from Chicago should be made to be at least an 82 overall because he has become their backup over Antti Raanta. He has a record of 8-3-0 with a GAA of 1.73 and a save percentage of 94.7. If Hammond is an 85, I think Darling should be given a boost as well. Other than these two minor holes great job with the rosters.
Steve Mason on the flyers should be an 87 or 88, he has an awful record but has played extremely well considering how bad the flyers defense is. Madon also has a .928 save percentage, and if you watch the flyers, he faces breakaways, odd man rushes and makes great saves night in and night out. Fun fact, Steve Mason has 2 shutouts on the road, and only 1 win on the road..... Also for the flyers: Macdonald should be like and 82 and Del Zotto should be 1 or 2 overalls higher. Raffl should be an 84 or 85 as he has 20 goals this year and was injured for an extended period.

Since you did not show the rookies I don't know what you put the overalls at. However, for the Hurricanes, Lindholm and Rask have made a huge difference so I believe they should be given a boost.

As a Ranger fan, I think Kevin Klein deserves at least an 84-85 overall. He was an absolute stud before he got injured. He was a potential all star.
Nugent-Hopkins should at least be 85 or 86, like come on. The guy leads the league in average ice time for a forward, is put up against the toughest competition in the Western Conference, and this season was his highest point total yet in his career, plus was an All-Star selection by the league

Johnny, just a few notes on Edmonton.
- Nuge has been the best player on the team this year, and I know his body checking is down in this, but in real life he is not a bad checker. Nuge should be the highest overall.
- Lander is a 76 2 1/2 star player, but he should be in the range of a 78/79 3 1/2 gold star. He's going to be a very good 3rd line Center so I think it's worth changing some of his stats.
He's actually starting to become a solid two way forward. He's been one of the few bright spots in another dark year for the oilers.

As a Blackhawks/Ice Hogs fan, I've played GM mode with them a ton. Clendening is a great puck-moving d-man. He does not grow worth a shit in any GM mode I've had him in and I think his offensive stats should be a decent deal higher, and his potential perhaps to green. Whether it stays at four stars or not is up to you, three and a half green would do fine too.

They just grow faster so i'm fine with where the potentials are set. When I update my own roster, I typically make Koivu's Defensive stats better putting him at an 87-88 ovr. He's more known for that anyways. Make Brodin an 85 so he's on top pair with Suter. Spurgeon an 84 too with Scandella as 2nd pair. I'd drop Bergenhiem some (he's been mostly 4th line/scratched)

Aidan Mavrak JVR's defense has been quite lacking. Him playing on the PK doesn't mean that he's a good defensive player. He might not be as big a reason as Kessel is for the horrid +/- stat.

Here's some feedback on the Edmonton Oilers. I understand why you dropped Hall, but he hasn't played enough games to give a good reason to drop him. If you want realism, why tf would you drop him? I almost left the video when I saw your stats for RNH. No first line centre is 84 overall. You do realize that Nuge is a physical player, right? He's super strong on the puck, and has a whopping 92 hits on the season. I'm okay with the drop of Yakupov's overall, but why drop his potential? If you wanted to make Edmonton do really bad, don't be afraid to drop the defense overall. This is how you should make it:

Chychrun on the Sarnia Sting should be 4.5 gold star as a prospect, the kid is a beast. He was drafted 1st overall in the OHL draft and should be draft ready by year 2.

Henrik Lundqvist needs to be higher. Okay he's not the best but he still deserves a higher ranking he is a beast. He deserves a 94 overall.

Price is the only goalie I noticed better than Lundqvist. Since at least Rask and Rinne also are better, he's too good if anything right now. There are other goalies out there as well that I'd call just as good as Lundqvist at this point.

I agree completely with Gaudreau being 5 red because he's small. But Pastrnak should be 4 green instead of 4.5 red stars. He never gets above an 83 and that's just not true in real life...he will become a sick player.

Two things Johnny:
1. Gibson needs to have the same potential and overall as Anderson; Boudreau does not know which goalie will start in the playoffs yet, so they should split time equally in the regular season.
2. Scott Darling from Chicago should be made to be at least an 82 overall because he has become their backup over Antti Raanta. He has a record of 8-3-0 with a GAA of 1.73 and a save percentage of 94.7. If Hammond is an 85, I think Darling should be given a boost as well.
Other than these two minor holes great job with the rosters.
How do you change players overalls and potential?
Steve Mason on the flyers should be an 87 or 88, he has an awful record but has played extremely well considering how bad the flyers defense is. Madon also has a .928 save percentage, and if you watch the flyers, he faces breakaways, odd man rushes and makes great saves night in and night out. Fun fact, Steve Mason has 2 shutouts on the road, and only 1 win on the road.....
Also for the flyers: Macdonald should be like and 82 and Del Zotto should be 1 or 2 overalls higher. Raffl should be an 84 or 85 as he has 20 goals this year and was injured for an extended period.

Redwireproductions17 have to adjust his birthday so that he's not eligible for an NHL team, so it defaults to NONE, and then reset his birthday back to the correct date.

As a Habs fan, put Nathan Beaulieu up to 80-81 OFD so he's a Top6 and give him 4green star, as well drop down Tinordi to 77 so he's in the minor and drop him to yellow star! Beaulieu play most of the game in the last 4-5 month and play solid minutes! i think he's a beast and deserve the jump! like so johnny see!

Someone who plays in the league till 43 deserves that. He has had some injuries in the past, but he is still in the game.
I'd make Drouin's potential 4 1/2 gold instead of 4 1/2 green, otherwise he always becomes the best player in the league.
Geoff Brown I don't think I've seen a GM mode on either new or current gen where Drouin and Stamkos don't alternate Hart trophies for 10 years.

Since you did not show the rookies I don't know what you put the overalls at. However, for the Hurricanes, Lindholm and Rask have made a huge difference so I believe they should be given a boost.

hudler should get a raise for sure he is 7th in the league in points with 72 in 75 games, i know points aren't everything but he is at least an 87 i would say

Jacob De la Rose with the Canadiens really deserves a boost! Maybe an overall around 78-80, offensively he's not a beast, but defensively, he's really helping the team! Even EA put him a better overall in their new roster update.
