For the face-matching game, if you have identical Miis, they also have a colored border around each Mii face. So, if you're in a situation with identical Miis, then match it by the colored borders.
I literally played this game and lost literally every mini game. But got lucky with things like rolling two number the same which lets you role 5 more dice and last place boosts and the rocket boost, and the alien boost almost won me the game. I was about to win but roled less than 35 at the end and someone other robot won.
